Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Moss Scape

This is a beautiful deep green with gold tones, very much a multi-hued shade. It works well alone or wonderfully as a base for a green or green and gold look. I tend to wear lots of greens/browns/golds so this is a must-have for me.

Eye Shadow -Origins - Sand Storm 11

I absolutely love this color, its a warm neutral brown, a lovely lid color or crease color with just a hint of shimmer. I actually lost this and was about to repurchase it, then figured out where it had been, actually missed this color quite a bit. I have warm toned skin so for me this is the perfect taupe-y brown color to create a daytime neutral eye.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Humid (Frost)
rachelbobco 1/25/2010 10:54:00 PM
This is a beautiful deep green color, looks great paired with club or as a crease color. I was a little worried it would be garish on me, but it works well either as the crease color with a pale lid or as the lid color offset with a richer crease.

A great neutral cool brown, this is a staple for a matte daytime eye. It works with so many colors, and takes on different tones depending on the mix. A good staple neutral color.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Shy Girl

This is such a lovely color. A peachy lightly frosted nude, it is subtle but lovely and tones down my somewhat pigmented natural shade for a peachy final look. I have pretty warm skin tones, and find that peachier shades work on me and would recommend this to other warmer folk.

Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer in Shade 1
rachelbobco 1/25/2010 7:03:00 PM
I like the shimmery but not glittery finish, and the somewhat sheer coverage. I use the Stila illuminating foundation powder with this and find that the light coverage is just what I need, evens out skin tones a bit but doesn't look too cakey or made up. I have combination skin, tend to get a bit oily T-zone and haven't noticed any appreciable difference or worsening. Also didn't notice any smell at all, but maybe they changed the formula? I like it a lot, but can see how it wouldn't work if you wanted heavier coverage.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Foundation Primer - Bronze [DISCONTINUED]
rachelbobco 1/25/2010 6:52:00 PM
This is a great primer. What I love about this is the hint of bronze! I dislike how using foundation and powder turns me into casper the friendly ghost! I have a very well matched foundation, but use it infrequently for this precise reason. This primer gives me a great base, and adds a little color so that I don't end up looking all washed out. It also works well as a base for a tinted moisturizer, upping the coverage factor a little bit but still lighter than using foundation. I really like it, and find that its sheer enough to be quite subtle and to work on nearly any skin tone. UPDATE: I hadn't noticed at first, because I hadn't gone a long day wearing makeup but this stuff increases how oily my skin is. I have combination skin w oily T-zone and this increased that after a long day. So, I will be sure to pair this with my lighter daytime lotions in the future. I do still love the hint of color enough to not be put off my that, and have noticed that it's better with a lighter moisturizer and TM rather than foundation.

Lip Gloss -Too Faced - Diamond Gloss - Chocolate
rachelbobco 1/24/2010 1:26:00 AM
It smells like a tootsie roll, the color is somewhat sheer but still a recognizable cocoa color, so flattering to certain skin tones (like mine :) Very shimmery not a ton of staying power but it smells sooooo yummy.

Lip Treatments -Alba Botanica - Coconut Cream Lip Balm
rachelbobco 1/22/2010 10:18:00 PM
If my lips are very dry and in need of serious moisture I go to this stuff, only downside is that its sooo soft it tends to break if you twist the tube up too far! Super quenching, smells amazing organic lip stuff. No petroleum products and it won't dry out your lips like some of the non-natural brands will (some of the non-natural lines add drying agents like alcohol, always check ingredients b/c this is one way to hold the scent but its also a way to make you buy more lip balm!) I gotta say of the chapstick variety this and the Burt's are my faves, this one is more moisturizing than BB so I switch back and forth...

Lotions/ Creams -Alba Botanica - Alba Hawaiian Cocoa Butter Hand & Body Lotion

This is my favorite 'thick' lotion, I tend to alternate between this and a lighter BB one. The smell is amazing and this stuff just sinks into my dry dry skin leaving me feeling soft and smelling good :) One of my (2) HG lotions.

Bath Treatments -Burt's Bees - Apricot baby oil
rachelbobco 1/22/2010 10:11:00 PM
I love the smell of this stuff. Its great for super dry just shaved legs, its very thick and smells wonderful. Good in the bath, but really intense amount of moisturizer so I only really use it all over once in a while in the middle of winter.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey Shea Butter Body Butter
rachelbobco 1/22/2010 10:07:00 PM
In a pinch I'd use this but I gotta say after the intense love affair I had with Burt lotions, this left me cold. Probably because this place near my old apartment had managed to wrangle some kind of miracle body butter during my whole 'body butter' phase...and whatever the heck that was it just blew every other thing out of the market. It was a european brand, Italian I think..anyway, I liked this ok but felt it didn't really work as well as their lotions do, and gave up after one tub.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Baby Bees Buttermilk Lotion
rachelbobco 1/22/2010 10:04:00 PM
My fave Burt lotion, oh heck its my favorite lotion, period. I use it myself because I haven't got a baby. The smell is amazing. Indescribable. Maybe I just like sweet smells because I looooooove the smell of this stuff. Its also very moisturizing while not that thick and absorbing quickly, I'm not sure how they managed that combo, but its fabulous stuff. I can never seem to find this one anymore though, and have taken to using milk & honey instead. Also a great smell. I sniff the empty bottles before I recycle them!
