Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences - Color Me Happy
punkrockzoie 9/30/2007 5:19:00 PM
My hairtype: bottom half bleached and dyed red. wavy hair, oily roots. needs to be washed every day or every other day. bleached part is somewhat damaged from so much dying.
anywaaays...
so you see my situation, i dye my hair pretty often. usually bright unnatural colors which never stay in long enough!! :(
i tried this shampoo for about 3 months.
pros:
-made my wavy hair VERY soft and silky (though it didnt help the damage of my bleached hair as much).
-smells awesome! made my hair look nice and shiny.
- cleaned my oily roots very well.
cons: didnt seem to help my color stay in longer.
and that's pretty much what i bought it for...
hence, i would not count on this for protecting your hair color, but if you'd like very soft hair, this is the shampoo for you.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
punkrockzoie 8/27/2007 8:55:00 PM
I've been using this product for a month and the first few weeks I thought it was amazing up until now. Here's my opinion: Pros: - looks natural. the color matches me very well Cons: - does not help control oil at all! (i have very oily skin and i blot my face 2 hours after applying this foundation) - rubs off VERY easily. at the end of the day it looks like im wearing nothing - way too expensive for such a crappy product - perhaps causes acne? i've been using two prescribed medications on my face and still im breaking out badly. i blame the foundation. *sigh* im still on the lookout for my HG foundation

Cleansers -Zapzyt - Acne Wash Treatment
punkrockzoie 8/5/2007 8:57:00 PM
Ick. I bought this stuff at walmart super cheap. I was going to buy neutrogena but i saw this stuff right next to it for less than half the price. Bad mistake. It made me break out in rashes. I guess this stuff is too harsh for my sensitive skin? But besides that, it didnt even clear up my acne, nor prevent it >:not buying this again! dont waste your time or money on it.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Foam Wash
punkrockzoie 8/5/2007 8:53:00 PM
This stuff is horrible! It smells like strong medication, it dried out my skin like crazy, and it didnt even get rid of my acne!!
Now my skin is starting to flake in certain spots. I always use moisturizer after washing but still, i dont know what to do its so badly dried out. This was a waste of money. Sort of expensive too compared to other neutrogena products. Also, the pump always gets stuck. I have to lift it up after every time i push some foam out. Its annoying! I would never buy this stuff again. Im actually wondering what im going to do with the rest of it. I found a better product, oxy, and the reviews seem good so im going to try that.
edit: ok well i tried the oxy and all it did was turn my acne into cystic acne!! not good...
so i started using the neutrogena again. i think it's helping my acne pretty well. i've heard great things about the new acne spot gel from this same neutrogena stress-free line and im thinking of trying that too.

Lotions/ Creams -Johnson & Johnson - Melt Away Stress Body Lotion
punkrockzoie 8/4/2007 6:53:00 PM
Well i saw this lotion on sale at walgreens and i had a coupon so i ended up paying about $3 for it. Great deal in my opinion. Especially for such a great quality moisturizer. I LOVE the smell-lavender. I think this lotion has a slight shimmer to it. Not glitter, but shimmer like light reflecting off of your skin. Its not greasy or shiny though. The bottle's pretty good sized so i know it'll last me a while. And for the price, it wouldnt even matter. Way better than lubriderm in my opinion. Go out and try it. You wont regret it i promise.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - WetSlicks Lip Gloss (general)
punkrockzoie 7/30/2007 6:20:00 PM
One word: wow. I have never found a better lipgloss, ever. I got such a great deal on them too, it was at walmart, a pack of two for $4 and i had a coupon also so it came out to be about $1.50 per lipgloss. This stuff looks amazing on me! (and i bet it would on you too if you tried it) It's actually not sticky at all, so its great for doing almost anything and your hair wont get stuck in it. My boyfriend loves the taste of it also. When i kiss him he doesnt complain that its sticky or that it feels weird, though he used to when i used other glosses. The only thing that would make this product perfect is if it lasted a super long time. But i know, lipglosses dont last forever. I reapply every few hours and when it wares off it still gives me a moisturized feel. I'd totally recommend this to anyone. And for such a low price, why not try it?

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Wax Strips
punkrockzoie 7/30/2007 5:59:00 PM
I'd have to disagree with a lot of you
I havent found even one thing wrong with this product
I have veery sensitive skin and i dont even get irritations
I usually wax my upper lip and eyebrows and this is the only product i will ever buy!
I noticed that the first few times i waxed i got irritations but you need to start out with thin strips and work your way up over time.
I use this about every 2 weeks.
Its really easy to use, no mess at all
I'd totally recommend it to anyone who's in need of a good waxing.
Also, compared to salon waxing which costs about $10, this is nothing! (i bought a box of this wax at walgreens on sale and i had coupons which ended up with me spending only 33 cents for the whole entire product! im not even kidding that was a great deal and it lasted me about 7 months.)

Powder -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Loose Powder
punkrockzoie 7/29/2007 10:18:00 PM
I bought this product about a month ago and here's what i've experienced
PROS:
- doesnt make me break out (i have very oily, acne-prone skin)
- takes all my shine away
- covers decently. it wont cover my acne scars but it does even out my whole face.
- can wear it alone or on top of liquid foundation depending on how much coverage you need
CONS:
- the brush seems hard. not as soft and puffy as i expected. hence, i might buy a separate brush, but i need one small enough to fit the brush holder located in the powder's cap.
- sometimes makes my forehead skin look dry. well like i said, it takes away all oil and shine ;)
- doesnt come in a great variety of shades. mine is a little too light for me, and i have tan skin
overall, i think this is a decent product. i would buy it again, its way better than the covergirl pressed powder i used before. but im still curious to try the loreal loose powder, though all the reviews say its not that good

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Stylist Mascara ] [DISCONTINUED]
punkrockzoie 7/29/2007 10:05:00 PM
So i've come up to the conclusion of these pros and cons PROS: - nice brush. better than those regular pipe-cleaner type mascara brushes. - gives me a dramatic pointy eyelash look. if you're looking for a "natural" mascara look, this mascara is not for you CONS: - flakes off throughout the day. so much that it gets annoying - looks dry. feels dry and crusty. reminds me of dead insect legs. ick. - when you wash your face it gives you MAJOR raccoon eyes, but is easily removed with makeup remover. i use ponds cold cream. overall, this is a nice mascara depending on what you're looking for. im looking for big dramatic stand-out lashes and this does the job along with an eyelash curler, but the flaking and crumbling throughout the day are just enough for me to say i wont buy this product again.

Masks -Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque
punkrockzoie 7/25/2007 12:33:00 PM
I bought this and finished it, but i dont know why i even used it all in the first place. I dont think it did anything for my skin, though i can pretend and fool myself it did. It dries VERY well, if that's what you're looking for in a mask. But on the other hand, it stings/burns a little and feels pretty unpleasant. Imagine this: toothpaste all over your face. It has the same minty scent, and if you've ever put toothpaste on your face you'll notice it burns a little. Also, i noticed when i applied the mask, it would give me great headaches. I dont know if that was due to the strong smell, the harsh drying effects or the stinging it gave me. Either way, it was a pain to use and im going to try St.Ives Mud Mask this time instead.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15
punkrockzoie 7/25/2007 12:17:00 PM
I have pretty oily skin, and i heard that cetaphil is a good brand for oily acne prone skin because its simple ingredients. But didnt this product say oil free? My face gets sooo incredibly greasy and shiny after i apply this stuff. Not only that, but it burns. I put some around my eyes, not even in them, and it burned so badly i had to rinse it all off. I also noticed that it makes my face turn red, but maybe that's just me? Anyways, take it from my personal experience, this lotion is a waste of $11.
