My mom and I were both allergic to this for some reason. It made my skin red, and she broke out in itchy red bumps. No idea what ingredient it would be that we're allergic to though...

I have this in #10 and #11 First, I have to say how much I love these colours! They are so intense! They really make my dark eyes pop and now I want to invest in some other colours. They aren't very user friendly though... I almost wish the brush was thicker, because I have a hard time getting a smooth line with that tiny tip. It also got on my eyelashes, despite my best efforts not to let that happen. I'm willing to go through the hassle of putting it on though, it's so pretty. Getting it off wasn't too bad, I just used a q-tip with vaseline and gently rubbed it until it dissolved. Then I used a makeup remover on a cotton pad to wipe off the rest. I can't wait to buy more of these! But at $16CDN each, I'll have to really love the colour...

I've ordered from the online store a few times. I hate the quality of their sweaters! The only items I have that are actually comfortable to wear are their summer dresses. Even then, I'm afraid to wear them too often because they are not going to last through several washes.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Pure & Free Baby SPF 60

I actually really like this sunscreen... so far it hasn't given me any reason not to. The formula agrees with my skin much better than traditional sunscreens. It's not at all greasy, and hasn't made me break out at all which is almost unbelievable... I wear it over my daily face moisturizer and alone on the rest of my body. I like that the moisture in it absorbs quickly, although you have to really rub it in to get rid of the white film it leaves behind. I think that this formula is identical to the new sensitive skin sunscreen. I read the label and it looked the same to me.

Moisturizers -Jamieson - ProVitamina e Fresh Youthful Hydrating Gel-Cream

I think this may be my HG face moisturizer! It's too early to tell for sure though... Although I think this product is intended for older women (I saw something on the box about wrinkles...) it's working really well on my 20-something-year-old skin. I love the texture of it! It's a nice balance between a gel and a cream, thick but not stodgy, and it absorbs really well. I have oily skin, and it keeps my face soft without becoming an oil-slick by the end of the day. It doesn't have any real smell/odour to it, which I like. Also, it hasn't made me break out more than usual so that's another bonus. No SPF, but I love that because most face moisturizers with SPF make me break out horribly. My only complaint is that I'm pretty sure I will go through the jar very quickly, and it's a bit pricier than I want it to be (I think $25 CDN for 60ml). EDIT: Never mind, I've gone through half the tub and I can officially say it's making my acne worse. :(

Moisturizers -Jamieson - Vitamin E 30 000 IU Rich Moisturizing Cream

I wasn't happy with this product, but that's probably because it's not good for oily skin. It was just way too heavy for my skin, and wouldn't absorb properly. I gave it to my mother and she seems to be having better luck with it, as her skin is dry.

Treatments -Vichy - Normaderm Night Chrono-Active Anti-Imperfection Care
rated 2 of 5

Info from the package: - This product is for "swollen and deformed pores and irregular skin texture". - tested on sensitive skin - limits pore hyperactivity I received a sample of this product at Shoppers Drug Mart. I was looking for a product that would help me get rid of my adult acne. I get big swollen pimples on my forehead and I think I've become immune to B.P. Gel from using it so much in my teen years. This product really surprised me... usually anything that looks this good doesn't live up to its claims, but this one does! After just 4 nights of using this product my acne was significantly reduced. The pimples shrunk and dried up, and my overall complexion looked a bit smoother. I ended up buying 2 tubes of this product (at $30 CDN each) because it seems to be working really well on my brothers cystic acne as well. I have sensitive skin, but this doesn't bother it. The only time I felt stinging was when I was trying to use it along with reversa which was a bad idea. It is a bit drying but nothing that my day moisturizer can't handle. Overall I think it's a good product to try, if you can get a sample first. It may not work for everyone but it really works well for me! Update: This does make your skin purge a bit, just a warning! 2nd Update: This has stopped working on my skin... what a waste of $$...

Eyeliner -Joe Fresh Style - eyeliner
rated 3 of 5

I tried out the Opal and Gold colours. For $4 a pop, I couldn't ask for more from these eyeliners. They have enough pigment to show up on my brown skin and aren't too hard (ok, they are the softest pencils out there, but they aren't bad). The Opal is a very pretty pale green and the gold is a deep, not too shiny, metallic.

Lip Gloss -Joe Fresh Style - Sheer Lip Crayon
rated 3 of 5
product_junkie6 5/12/2009 10:31:00 PM

I am reviewing the Sheer Lip Crayon in Berry. I paid $6 for this 2.6g pencil and I have to say I am pretty happy with it. I expected the pencil to go on smooth but dry, and to my surprise the pencil is very soft and leaves a shiny coat of colour. It is very easy to use and has a rich red colour. The pencil is scented, which I don't really care for, but I don't mind it offensively smelly. Overall, this is a nice lip product and I will probably try out the other colours. EDIT: I have discovered that this is difficult to sharpen, because the product gets smooshed or breaks off.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 1 of 5
product_junkie6 4/29/2009 2:18:00 AM

I don't really see a difference when I use this... but what I really wanted to share is that I asked my doctor how much aspirin would be absorbed into the bloodstream and she said almost none, unless you're dissolving it completely. If you're just crushing it up, mixing it with honey and using it as a masque for about 5-10 minutes then you shouldn't have a problem with absorption. Oh, and that's for using 1 tablet, that might make a difference. EDIT: I've found that every time I completely grind up the tablets (finely) and use it in the mask, my face gets numb in spots... I can't use this.

Moisturizers -Nivea - Light Moisturizing Day Care

I got this as part of a gift set, so I can't really comment on the price. I agree with other reviews who say it leaves a film on your face. I tried it a few times to see if I could get use to it, but I can't stand that greasy feeling. Plus, it broke me out on my nose.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Pink Truffle
rated 4 of 5
product_junkie6 4/4/2009 1:09:00 AM

I bought this after reading all the awesome reviews on MA. Thank you!! I really like the colour of this blush. It looks very natural on my olive skin tone. So far, I have been applying it with my fingers, but I think I will get a skunk brush and try using it with that (just so I'm not sticking my fingers in the pot all the time). The texture is pretty good. I understand why some people find it difficult to blend though. It's a bit waxy/sticky, so you really have to dab on a little bit at a time and blend gently. I like the fact that it's thick because then it's not running down my face (like some blush tints). Also, because it's thick, it lasts longer. My final note on this blush is that I find it easier to use over a liquid foundation than a powder foundation. I try to use powder blush with powder foundation etc. because they all blend together much better.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Facial Cleansing Bar
rated 1 of 5
product_junkie6 4/4/2009 1:03:00 AM

I am reviewing the "Original" formula of this product. I bought this soap because lately I've been having a reaction to Dove soap (no idea why). And I heard that glycerin soap usually has less ingredients so it's less irritating. Apparently, that's not all together true... Here's why I hate this soap: - THE SMELL! I really cannot tolerate the smell of this. It smells rot... - It leaves a (stinky) film on my skin - It really dries out my skin Thankfully, it melts really fast (which is usually a bad thing, but I want to use this up fast). IMO, Pears is a much better glycerin soap than this product.

Moisturizers -Dove - Essential Nutrients - Night Cream
rated 5 of 5
product_junkie6 1/22/2009 12:09:00 PM

I think this line has been replaced by the "Deep Moisture" line. I loved the Essential Nutrients night cream and didn't realize it was gone until I read the label of the new night cream I picked up. The packaging for "Deep Mositure" night cream is exactly the same as Essential Nutrients and the product is giving me the same great results. Might be worth looking into if you miss the old product.

Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - Clean Slate
rated 3 of 5
product_junkie6 1/22/2009 12:04:00 PM

I'm reviewing a sample I got from Sephora, so I can't comment on the price or packaging. First of all, I should mention that this is the first primer I've ever tried. Generally, I believe that primer is for walls and not my face... but since my new powder foundation is drying out my skin I decided to open my sample of Clean Slate. The idea was to see if it would make my foundation more comfortable. I don't really like the smell of this product and it's a bit thick. I didn't have any trouble putting it on though. I just smoothed a tiny bit on each part of my face slowly and it didn't ball up at all. It felt a little tingly (which sort of freaked me out) but other than that I liked the smooth texture it gave my face. The package says you can use this on your eyelids, so I did. Overall, my makeup felt a bit more comfortable and my cheeks were less red when I took my makeup off at the end of the day. HOWEVER! My eyelids were puffy and starting to feel uncomfortable. I removed all makeup before I went to bed, and this morning I woke up and my eyes hurt so bad! My eyelids are REALLY swollen so my advice would be to avoid using this on your eyelids or around your eyes at all!!
