Blush -Hard Candy - Blush Crush Baked Blush #127 Honeymoon
pinkfrost52 10/18/2011 2:59:00 AM
I know this is marketed as a blush, but I like to use it as a highlighter because as a blush, it doesn't show up on a NC30 skintone. I love the peachy pink colour and it has nice fine shimmer, NOT glittery. It creates an overall soft sheen to my cheeks; not harsh or frosty like I expected it to be. One thing I noticed is that it isn't pressed very well. It can be a little powdery when you sweep your brush over the product, wasting it. I recommend it for medium skintones as a highlight!

Palettes -Too Faced - Natural Eye Kit
pinkfrost52 10/15/2011 9:57:00 PM
This is a fantastic palette with great shades for everyday wear. I've been reaching for it more often mostly for the 'Honey Pot' and 'Silk Teddy' shades which I love as my lid colours. I know it comes with instructions on how to apply it using specific shades, but I like to "break those rules" and create my own combination. 'Silk Teddy' is also another favorite of mine, it's a lovely rosey champagne colour with shimmer and very easy to wear. 'Sexpresso' is matte, perfect for lining my eyes and for filling in brows. I like that they included a larger matte shade ('Heaven') since I prefer to use them for browbone as opposed to a shimmer finish. My only complaint is that 'Erotica' is not as pigmented as I would have liked it to be, and 'Nude Beach' contains an awful amount of glittery fallout!! Overall, I like it and would recommend especially to those who love neutral shades!

Palettes -Kat Von D - Ludwig Palette
pinkfrost52 10/15/2011 9:35:00 PM
I like this palette. There are some good earthy tone shadows that are easy to wear and good for those who like softer colours. My favourite shades are 'Baroque' (golden bronze with shimmer) and 'Orbi' (an olive green with shimmer). 'Leather' is very rich in colour too. The dark chocolate brown makes for a nice liner shade and is good for defining the outer v and crease. 'Lucifer' is the only matte shade. It's black, but a little hard to blend compared with the other shadows in this palette. 'Tequila' is a great highlight shade if you like shimmery finishes, but does have a slight frost look on my skin which I hate so I use it only for the inner corner. 'Dimebag', is the metallic green. A little hard to pull off, but paired with 'Baroque' and 'Leather', it works very well together. The biggest disappointment in the palette has to be 'Clay' and 'Downtown'. They are very glittery and found they crumbled quite easily resulting in lots of fallout on my cheeks. Overall, I think it's a decent palette if you like neutrals but want a bit of colour as well. The shadows are very soft, and are easy to blend (with exception of 'Lucifer' and 'Downtown'). Comes with two mini brushes, but they are pretty useless so I chucked them out. Would recommend because they have great pigmentation!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bella Bamba
pinkfrost52 10/8/2011 9:21:00 PM
On me, 'Bella Bamba' looks very similar to how NARS 'Orgasm' looked on my skintone except that 'Bella Bamba' has less of a golden shimmery sheen. It does have a slight golden shimmer to it, but not as intense and glittery like the 'Orgasm' blush. It's very pigmented and has great staying power on my skin. It adds just the right amount of sheen without looking like I've sprinkled glitter everywhere. The downside is the packaging - would rather have it in a pan or something more practical then a cardboard box. Plus, it is pretty expensive for such a small amount of product and find that this colour is pretty dupable with other blushes so that's why I have checked 'no' to repurchasing. The brush that comes with it is quite soft, but I still prefer to use my own brush.

Eyeliner -NYX - Candy Glitter Liner - All
pinkfrost52 10/8/2011 7:46:00 PM
I brought 'Disco Ball' to use for costume makeup for Halloween. It has silver glitter in a clear base and the glitter is of medium density. You have to layer it several times to achieve the right intensity and the brush applicator can be messy especially because the liner has a thicker consistency so it "clumps" on the brush tip/wand. It dries relatively fast and lasts quite well. The glitter tends to flake a little, but I guess that is expected. I applied to only my top lash-line over a black liner.

Blush -Bourjois - Cendre de roses brune #48
pinkfrost52 10/8/2011 2:40:00 AM
This blush is super pigmented! A little really does go a long way with this product. 'Cendre de Rose Brune' is a rosy pink and has a matte finish. Despite being matte, it was quite easy to blend and gave my cheeks a nice healthy "flushed" look. It can be a little "clownish" if you apply too much so do be careful with the amount you use. It also looks amazing on lighter skintones since a friend of mine brought the same blush and pulls off this colour quite well. The only downside with Bourjois blushes is the packaging. Small pan size makes it harder to sweep brush across evenly, but other than that, they are good value for money.

Blush -Bourjois - Sienne
pinkfrost52 10/8/2011 2:32:00 AM
'Sienne' is a lovely colour! It's perfect if you want to go on the neutral/nude route and is a nice terracotta shade with a satin finish. I like that it isn't matte, nor is it super shimmery like some of the other Bourjois blushes. I'm about NC30, and I have to layer this a few times for the colour to show up. However, I prefer a subtler approach to my blush/bronzer so this is good for me. Very wearable for daytime and would suit light to medium skintones.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Silent Treatment
pinkfrost52 10/6/2011 3:32:00 AM
I love this trio! The "eyelid" shade especially. It's a lovely greyish taupe that's perfect to dust all over the lid. The "crease" shade has the best pigmentation. It's very dark so it's perfect for lining the lower lash-line as well. The "browbone" shade is a little sheer and frosty on me, but is still nice as a subtle highlight colour. These shadows are very soft and surprisingly very easy to blend! The "browbone" colour had a bit of fallout but nothing too major. Overall, an excellent trio at a great value!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
pinkfrost52 10/6/2011 3:10:00 AM
This is a great trio, especially for how little it costs! My favourite shade is the "crease" colour. It's a lovely caramel bronze shade with shimmer and is perfect for dusting all over the lid. The "browbone" shade is rather shimmery on me and can look a bit too frosty, but used lightly it creates a nice sheen to the browbone area. The "eyelid" colour is my second favourite and is a gorgeous champagne pink that's perfect for the lid too. These shadows are very pigmented, soft and not chalky at all. There is a little bit of fallout (shimmer), but no big chunks of glitter which is great to see. I look a lippy off just because the lighter shades can sometimes be a "frost overkill" on my skintone, but overall, these shadows are still fabulous and highly recommend especially for neutral lovers!

Styling Products -Clairol - Tousle Me Softly Mousse
pinkfrost52 10/6/2011 2:53:00 AM
I quite like this. I usually have a hard time finding a good hair mousse that doesn't weigh down my hair or make it feel too stiff. This is great because it still helps to create soft waves/curls in my hair after I use heat and it doesn't leave a sticky residue provided you use a small amount. It's good for adding a bit of volume to my flat hair and has a great smell too! I like using this in damp hair then blow-dry afterwards to achieve a bit more volume. This doesn't provide the best hold, but good enough for soft gentle waves/curls.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH - Lemony Flutter
pinkfrost52 10/5/2011 12:06:00 AM
I like to change my nail polish quite frequently so my cuticles have been pretty dry from the acetone (nail polish remover). I like this because it's a little on the greasier side so it moisturizes and gives overall, softer skin. I like using this on elbows, knees and heels since it has a rich, creamy texture that's good for those drier areas. It is a little pricey, but you get a decent amount and a little dab on each area goes a long way. The scent is quite strong, but smells very lemony fresh and soothing.

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Ultra Darling
pinkfrost52 10/4/2011 8:29:00 PM
I wasn't too sure about this colour at first because it looked so bright in the tube, but once I applied it to my lips, it doesn't look as bright and it compliments my skintone without looking so "loud". 'Ultra Darling' is more of a pink toned coral on my lips and has some shimmer. It sets to a glossy finish and is very moisturizing. Coverage is sheer to semi-opaque and is a great shade to perk up your mood!

Polishes -Essie - Angora Cardi
pinkfrost52 10/4/2011 5:36:00 PM
I absolutely love this shade! 'Angora Cardi' is a dark plummy mauve and is perfect for Autumn. It is a creme finish and was opaque with two thin coats. Didn't streak which is great since I find some of the Essie polishes can be a bit tricky to apply. Dried to a very glossy finish and lasted quite well without a top-coat.

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA
pinkfrost52 9/30/2011 9:35:00 PM
I love this bronzer when I want more of a "natural" look because it is shimmer-free! It's matte, so it's ideal for contouring. On my skintone, it doesn't look orange and I can control the intensity since it starts off a little sheer when I apply it. If applied properly, it doesn't give a muddy look and because the powder is so finely milled, it blends nicely into my skin. I absolutely hate the cardboard packaging. It makes it difficult to reach the sides of the container and isn't very "travel friendly".

Fragrances -Prestige - Avril Lavigne Forbidden Rose
pinkfrost52 9/30/2011 9:24:00 PM
Nice scent, but wish it had better staying power. To me, 'Forbidden Rose' also smells like a fruity shampoo. It has dominant notes of apple mixed in a creamy vanilla base. It's quite refreshing, not musky or heavy like I expected. It's funny, the name of the perfume is 'Forbidden Rose', but there appears to be no notes of rose like I expected either. Overall, a good choice if you want something light and pleasant, but I prefer Avril's 'Black Star' over 'Forbidden Rose'.
