Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 3 of 5

Ok....I use this only on days that I wear my MAC SFFF. Yes, I know the formula sux. Since this has mineral oil and petroleum for its base. But,when I use my MAC SFF, I think that it really helps seal my skin and does not let the foundation dry it out too much. Plus, it is one of the few moisturizers that I can put on right before my foundation........ and it "will not roll off" like eraser shavings, when I touch my face. BUT, I would not use this if you are looking for any type of "benefits or extra care of your skin" I mean look above at most of the ingredients! Scary, uh?! The only good thing I see in this formula the Sesame Oil!

Wow! This has some good reviews, uh? Well,I guess those gals must have smoother/poreless skin.....unlike mine Because, my pores near my nose on my cheeks are not little at all. And IMO and on my skin....this stuff SUX! I bought the .5(half sized) off of Ebay. So, in all fairness....this review is actually for the the first version, not the newest one, with the swirls on it. Maybe that is why some reviews rock for this. But, I see most are reviewing this one too.....idk. I just wish it worked for me too!!!!!!!!!!! I was surprised that the fair color was actually slightly darker than my Studio Fix NC15 foundation. Though, if you use MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NW15(its a Pale Porcelain Princess DREAM color) to set....it tones down some of the orange tints on all my foundations. For my trial......I used Clinique's Dramatically Different Moistirizer on one side of my face and used Oil Of Olay Complete moisturizer, on the other side. Yes, this did go one smooth and easily. It really has a weightless consistency and came out of the can easily. I used Smashbox foundation brush on one side and my MAC 130 brush on the other. It seemed the SB brush applied it smoother. Then it just went all to HELL..Lol! This stuff just would NEVER really "DRY/SET"(I know my MAC Fix stays sorda sticky feeling...but this was different...it stayed very wet ....even after setting it with my S.FixPowder!) So since it wouldn't set the formula just SANK deep down into my little(I have none really...but this found them) lines around my eyes and into my PORES and literally just "puddled" there all day long! I couldn't even rub or smooth it back out as the day went on! I really felt like crying ;( This is suppose to have primer in it already....whatever! I use Smashbox Primer daily....so I know what a primer should do....and this stuff does not!

EDIT: 6-6-2011 I messaged MUA about the weird person who just added mineral oil for the ingredients and they have now put the correct ingredients up. Yay! This does not just have mineral oil...... as the above ingredient area states. I do not know how to erase that and actually put the correct ingredients in its place.....so I will list it here for you guys......... Isohexadecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isododecane, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2 Hexanediol, Oenothera Biennis Oil (Evening Primrose), Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil), Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut), Bisabolol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propylparaben, Butylparaben Works great...just wipe off he area cleaned with a q-tip and also wipe the tip off before putting cap on....so the color is not still on there for next time.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay eyeliner in Blackberry
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 5/5/2011 1:32:00 PM

This is a perfect cheap dupe for my Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in ROCKSTAR! Its a cool tones dark brown with eggplant/plum soft metallic like finish. This and Rockstar are so awesome as they do NOT give you the bruised red eye look, that some redder toned liners can do! I highly recommend this if you want your expensive $18.00 UD Rockstar liner to last or just buy it to save yourself "a lot" of money! Blackberry is definitely "not as soft" as Urban Decay. But its not suppose to...... because its not made to be in the "Gel Liner Pencil" category. I go over all my liners again anyways, after eyeshadow application.....so to me, its no matter. This one had a tad more dark brown base and it does not have as much of a "metallic sheen" like Rockstar. Though, both the above is not really evident upon application. I use this liner during the week most of the time. I save my UD for weekends and whenever I am going out. Plum/Eggplant colored eyeliners are a great substitute for the normal dark brown liners. These colors really give that extra oomph for us brown haired and brown eyed chicks!(though I know for a fact, that they do look good on most anyone!) I love this and I am happy I took a chance with this one! I will most definitely repurchase!

Tools -Urban Decay - Grind House (sharpener)

mrsleonidas 4/28/2011 11:35:00 PM

Who knew that sharpeners could be so different/better than another sharpener......not me! Lol! This baby is so fantastic! This one does not eat up my pricey UD, Clinique or MUF... pencil gel liners. Yay!!! Any type of liner glides through this so smoothly and effortless. It also gives a nice clean point..........fast! (I also have the NYX sharpener and I do believe that it is basically the same....just cheaper and colored black instead of this cool purple)

Polishes -OPI - Last Friday Night
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 4/27/2011 2:14:00 PM

Its not really fair that this lacquer has some bad reviews just cuz its sheer. This was made to be sheer! It is a very light blue "jelly" with a slight mix of different sized blue and silver glitters. It was actually made for "LAYERING" (Though you can get it basically opaque with 4 coats) Now,Teenage Dream is more opaque. It was obviously made to be used on its own sometimes. This is one is sheer for a reason folks! Its what was intended! ;) Just try layering this beauty on top of any darker blue, black, dark purple(INK rocks) and it looks so freaking bad ass!!!!! Then if you layer it on top of any pink, light blue, light purple or an opaque cream/white lacquer and it becomes this fairy like awesomeness!!!!!

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
rated 2 of 5
mrsleonidas 4/26/2011 1:48:00 PM

Uh? MINERAL OIL AND PETROLATUM are some of the first listed ingredients! Now, I have tried this and yes it does soften nicely. I am the first person to say that you usually need to buy "prestige" products if you want awesome quality and results. But.........this stuff is way overpriced! Their marketing of this product is done very very well and they do excel in that matter. Though, just read the ingredients!

Polishes -China Glaze - Flying Dragon
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 4/18/2011 3:23:00 PM

This is not as dark purple as the above pic. It is more like the last pic(at least on my screen and my fair skin) It has little glitters of blue/pink/purple etc. And to the all the silly reviewers below, who gave this lower ratings because they were SHOCKED that it dried MATTE/DULL/FLAT.................C'MON MY SISTERS! ;) ALL NEONS DRY MATTE!!!! So, the low ratings for that reason, is not fair! ;) lol! Just add a TOP COAT...... (just like you "should do" for all lacquers, to protect and make them last longer).......and its all good, LOL! Now you need to be fast with applying all Neons(cuz they dry almost immediately) and use a good gripping base and top coat (it also has a rough like surface, from all the glitter, without a top coat applied)and this should be good for ya. :)

Polishes -Essie - Chastity
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 4/18/2011 2:46:00 PM

I really love this...... BLUE TONED+MEDIUM PINK=BUBBLE GUM color! Chastity is everything I have been looking for "cool toned violet/blue bubble gum pink lacquer" I have bought practically every pink OPI available and none of them were really like this. Yet, OPI SHORTS STORY is my absolute favorite for a darker yet bright, medium bubble gum with blue/cool undertones pink. I just also wanted a lil' lighter 'slightly pastel'....true Bubble Gum color. I found it in this. I am a PPP though, I do tan pretty well.....and I think that this would look good on any skintone. The issue I have with most Essie's is the application. The brush is smaller than OPI and I do like that....but most of the time, their formula tends to either drip down around my cuticles, too sheer, or its too thick and don't level easily. Unfortunately, I found the leveling issue with this one to be a problem. So,I have to thin it every use and have patience while applying.Which I sux.. as I just want to apply 2 quick coats and be done with it.(I get that with most OPI's..Yay!) But imo, the color is worth it! Plus,my Poshe top coat helps with the leveling a bit.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 eyeliner in Rockstar
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 2/27/2011 1:55:00 PM

Urban Decays "Rockstar" eyeliner is the best DARK PURPLE BLACK CHERRY liner ever! It is not matte but the shimmer is so discreet. I hate purple eyeliners that are too bright and juvenile looking!(because I wear many shades of bright/dark purple eyeshadows almost daily) So, I need a darker black.brown like purple to line with. If I want a brighter purple look, I just put Urban Decays Flash eyeshadow on top of it. Or for a brighter black cherry look, I use MAC's Nocturnal. But, this one is perfect! It looks ALMOST BLACK/BROWN. Yet you can DEFINITELY STILL SEE PURPLE! I have Rockstar, Zero, Bourban and they all go onto my waterline easily and they stay put for many hours! As with all of Urban Decays liners, the consistency is like a soft kohl liner. But, you only have about 40 seconds to smudge/perfect them out...til' they are set and won't budge anymore. They do last pretty good! Yay!

Polishes -China Glaze - Below Deck
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 2/9/2011 12:21:00 PM

This is a gorgeous purple toned dark/muddier taupey greige. If you bought or have seen "Essie's Merino Cool" from the 2010 Fall Collection..........then I think that this is very similar to it. "Below Deck" has more "Purple" to it and "Merino Cool" just looks like a straight "gray" when swatched next to it. This is the color that I have wanted for so long! I am in my mid 30's and I will rock this forever! My hubby even like it alot. Though, my Hubby and most other men love me/girls in more "common" brighter sexy colors.(IMO,I think that this shade is a lil like the type of color that younger sexy confident chick would wear(like me!), single(not me) and wears edgier looks(that's kinda me) than most girls. This sounds funny but it just reminds me of that kind of girl. Ya know the ones that men don't really fall in love with and would JUST have an just an affair/fling with, because she is not quite good enough to marry but she is excitingly edgier and different than his wife/normal chicks! Lol! Do ya know what I mean?! Wow! that was so weird and sooooo silly! I went on and on! Sorry! Lol!!! Its for fun. ;) But, like I said my man actually loves this...so I'm winning! He says its not too edgy and has that tad more bit of purple than my other dirty boring(to him that is!) taupes. Yeah, the purple in this just rocks and since I play drums I love to wear a lacquer with a lil' kick. Yet, this is not too out there whatsover! Below Deck is more purple and more opaque than OPI's "You Don't Know Jacques" Its not as dark as Essie's Smokin' Hot It does not have blue and is way darker taupe than OPI's Parlez Vous! Yay!!! The blue looked horrible on my very fair Irish/German heritage skin tone.(I thought it would be more of a dirty taupey purple.Since that was what most pics and descriptions said. Yet, it wasn't on me (UPDATE for Parlez Vous OPI: I obviously bought a crappy older bottle and my new Parlez Vous is the gorgeous muted purple with a slight grape tint. I am freaking in love with it. Its so funny how the older formula could look so different than the new formula) So, Below Deck is a score for me!!!!(even though its not made by my OPI....I can live with it! Lol) These are all the colors that I have....that I can to help you all with the. Yes, all of the above are all in the same family (sorda) yet very different from one another. I also know that its suppose to be a dupe for China Glazes old and ever coveted Channelesque.....but I never had it. ;( So, can't help ya there. But, Below Deck is a fabulous purpled darker taupe/greige. And application is a breeze with only 1-2 coats(depends on your skills lol!!!)needed! P.S. The 1st pic above is pretty accurate..... Just take out a smidgen of the purple and the 2nd pic needs a lil more purple added.(at least on my monitor)

Nails -Color Club - Jackie Oh!
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 1/23/2011 2:50:00 PM

Jackie Oh! is an amazing medium neon pink with a coral undertone. This is a newly named re-release of the ever popular original.......... "SCREAMIN' FUCHSIA" So, if you have the original Screaming Fuchsia...then you can definitely pass on this one. Though, I love darker neon pinks! So, having 2 with a different name, is pretty cool! Plus, the price is cheap and any hard core lacquer collector would love to have them both too! (P.S. If your like me, over the age of 30, and love true darker hot pink neons....try out Zoya's "LAYLA"....It is my dream come true dark hot pink neon with a slight red undertone, to calm it down a bit! But the red does NOT make this have an orange or coral look!(like the above review and most other dark hot pink neons have) Layla is just a straight up dark hot pink! Yay! I can wear LAYLA with confidence and and have lot of sass....because it doesn't look like an immature day-glow neon! Yet, it is still a neon that is freaking hot and sexy as hell! Plus, Layla is one of my favorite songs ever! So, yes Layla is my HG neon.... for all the ladies above the age 30 and still want to be flirty, sexy and look smokin' hot!)

Polishes -Essie - Neon- Flirty Fuchsia
rated 5 of 5
mrsleonidas 12/9/2010 12:40:00 PM

To the reviewers below that gave this bad ratings because of the .....DULL MATTE FINISH....... DUH!!!!!! Its a NEON folks!!!!!!! ALL NEONS DRY MATTE!!!!! Wow!!! Its crazy when folks leave bad reviews for something that they don't even know about! Anyways, this is a beautiful in your face darker hot pink NEON and LIKE ALL NEONS.....IT NEEDS A SHINY TOP COAT!!!!! I use Seche, Poshe, or Essie's Good To Go.....fast drying topcoats. I use either NTEKII Foundation or OPI Nail Envy Matte and this can last on my little toesies for over 2 weeks!(and my hubby and 2 boys keep me in the water or out camping... all summer long) I love that its a darker neon pink....because imo, lighter neon pinks look too juvenile on my toes. But, I do not use this one a lot...as it is a "lighter" kind of dark hot pink.... So, I always use my H.G of H.G's.... ZOYA's LAYLA!!!! It is a smoldering darker hot pink, with a bit of red undertone....and it does not have any ucky orange undertones! Yay! I just luv it too pieces!! Then for a Purple hot pink,I like Zoyas.... Charisma.

WOW!! Its NOT FAIR that people have left so many bad reviews....when they don't even know what this is!!!!! Please read a products description.....before you write a bad review about it!! Or just school yourself first in the world of lacquer! I am here to tell ya that....This is bad azz neon!! Its a darker hot pinked PURPLE, with a some red undertones!! Its very similar to Essie's Perky Purple(basically dupes) Yes, it is like a jelly.....but neons usually have a thinner consistency. Though, with my matte basecoat of NailTekII ..... 2/3 coats of lacquer....then add a SHINY TOPCOAT (neons ALWAYS need a TOP COAT) of Seche/Poshe.....its good to go for well over 2 weeks on my toes!!! Its simply an amazing dark hot pink!( I hate lighter pink neons, as they seem too juvenile looking!) So, the bad reviews sux!! I mean C'MON girls.......... . ALL NEONS DRY MATTE!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!! And for a NEON......(which is ALWAYS a lil TRICKIER to APPLY, than a REGULAR lacquer).......this APPLIES VERY WELL!!!! I love this and their other neon LAYLA....for my lil piggies in the summer!

Shame on you Smashbox!!!!! You have the most pigmented and softest eyeshadows(that do not have any fallout)....... And you give us this stuff!? They are chalky, lack pigmentation and are very similar to cheap cosmetics! Yes, UDPP will be better for these.... BUT! Smashbox should not NEED IT!(for a lil help on their side,I stress very lil help for them, even MAC has some eyeshadows that need primer.... like their velvets/lustres... But, not a whole collection!)Good Grief!
