Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Pink Pursuit
mochaholic 11/3/2009 2:41:00 PM
I quite like the formulation of these lip glosses, since they're pretty pigmented, not too sticky, very moisturizing, long lasting (as long as I don't eat or lick my lips), doesn't settle into lines, contains SPF15, and practically scent-less (I hate lip products w/ strong/sweet scents). This is a pretty pink color that brightens up my pigmented lips, but it's a bit too frosty for me and I don't like the silver flecks in it. The shimmer is very fine, so it's bearable. I would repurchase Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss, but probably not in this color. UPDATE: I've been wearing this for a couple days now, and I think it has improved the condition of my usually super chapped lips!

Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Crystal Body Deodorant Stick

I don't sweat much, since I sit in an office all day, so I wanted a natural deodorant instead of a chemically antiperspirant and it seems to work pretty good. I also use this to treat minor cystic acne on my face; if I apply it soon after I first notice a break-out, it seems to speed up the healing process better than any other topical treatment I've tried.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Moisture Extreme
mochaholic 10/16/2009 1:57:00 PM
I have a hard time wearing lip products due to my dry/chapped lips and I don't like the feeling of anything other than lipbalm on my my lips. This has been the most bearable lipstick for me, since it is quite moisturizing and has a decent color selection. I like to mix Cool Watermelon and Nude Blush together for a bright wearable pink. I took off one star b/c it's not very pigmented. I also wish they could be longer-lasting.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Waterproof
mochaholic 10/8/2009 3:00:00 PM
I held off on getting this due to all the mixed reviews, but finally got it since it was on sale at CVS and I had a coupon. I just don't find this to be all that special. I like that it's not too clumpy and the brush does a good job of separating and coating lashes evenly (size of the brush doesn't bother me), but results were not as dramatic as some claims. I've used this a couple times and I find that it does smudge a lil. Like others have said, it is near impossible to remove. Today, I used this on one eye and Rimmel Glam Eyes on the other, and I think I like the results of Glam Eyes better. Update: This gives me raccoon eyes after a few hours (I have super oily skin), yet it's so freakin' difficult to remove...I've decided that I hate this...too bad, b/c it does look great the first hour or so.

Bronzers -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaGlo Illuminating Powder

I have this in Spotlight Peach and I really LOVE it. I find myself reaching for this more than any other blush or bronzer. Very nice combination of colors, natural looking, and not too shimmery (I hate shimmery face products). I also use this for eyeshadow once in a while and is great for a pinky natural look.

Eyeliner -Almay - Amazing Lasting Eye Pencil

It is decent for waterline, but t is terrible on the lashline; smudges onto the upper part of my eye lid and melts below my lower lashline (especially in warm conditions).

Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Active Light Makeup SPF 25 ] [DISCONTINUED]
mochaholic 9/29/2009 12:54:00 PM
Nice sheer to medium coverage; doesn't cover marks, but does smooth and even out skintone. I don't usually wear foundation, since I don't like having too much product on my face, but this goes on light enough that I don't feel like I have much on my skin at all. I have acne-prone skin and this has not caused any problems for me (but I don't wear it more than once a week). This doesn't control oil too well, as I still get shiny after a few hours, but it's better than nothing.

Eyeliner -Bourjois - Regard effet metallise- 51 noir effet miroir
mochaholic 9/29/2009 12:14:00 PM
I've had this eyeliner for a few years and love it (my default liner when I'm too lazy to use liquid). Most eyeliners smudge on my greasy lids, but this does not. It goes on very smooth and lasts all day (w/ primer and shadow). I've had some fall-out issues w/ this; when applying shadow over it, I'd sometimes find little black bits on my face. I'd like it more if the color showed up bolder (blacker or more metallic). Is there a non-metallic or automatic (too lazy to sharpen) version of this?

Palettes -Urban Decay - Urban Ammo Eye Palette

Good pigmentation, long-lasting (all day w/ UDPP on my super oily lids), smooth and blendable, but there is just WAY too much glitter in some of the colors. Love: Smog (deep coppery bronze), Mildew (shimmering metallic green), Shattered (bright iridescent aquamarine), Last Call (iridescent plummy purple), Sin (light shimmering champagne) Okay: Oil Slick (black with rainbow glitter) Too much glitter/sparkle that gets all over my face: Maui Wowie (sandy sheen), Polyester Bride (sheer white shimmer), Grifter (sparkling pale purple), Chopper (shimmering fawn with glitter),

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - H2O Proof Liquid Eyeliner
mochaholic 9/1/2009 7:44:00 PM
UPDATE: Not as long lasting as I thought. Recently wore it all day (w/ UDPP) in NYC and it smudged onto my upper lid area. UGH! The color is still nice, but having to deal w/ the consistency, smudging, and difficulty to remove...it's not worth it. May work better for ppl w/ non-oily lids. Changed rating from 4 to 2 and will no longer re-purchase. Original post: I think I have a love-hate relationship w/ this liner. I have this in black-brown and I love the color for a more "natural" day-time look (kinda creates a shadow behind my lashes and makes them look fuller w/o having a harch black line). I am giving it a 4 b/c it definitely delivers when I need something long-lasting on my greasy lids, but it does come w/ some pit-falls. Read on if you want more details... The consistency is like a thinner, harder-to-remove, quicker-drying version of Maybelline Ultra Liner (which I also like for long-lasting) - looks kinda glossy and plastic-like when it dries, but thinner like watery ink when wet. The applictor is kinda stiff and pokey-pointy, which is good b/c it helps w/ drawing a thin line, but then in combination w/ the consistency mentioned above makes it hard to achieve a nice even layer. If you make a mistake...good luck fixing it; having a lighter color makes mistakes less noticable, so I probably would not get this in black. If you get this on your eyelashes, remove it ASAP, or else it'll just grab on, clump your lashes together, and possibly pull some out if you try to remove the dry clumps. When the other reviews say it's hard to remove...it's no joke...this stuff would probably stay on for days if you didn't rub it off w/ oil. Conclusion: When I want a super long lasting eyeliner...I will use this in black-brown for a softer "natural" look, and turn to Maybelline Ultra Liner if I want a bold black line.

I agree w/ shaybo8's review. It is decent for waterline, and I would possibly repurchase it just for that purpose. It is terrible on the lashline; smudges onto the upper part of my eye lid and melts below my lower lashline (especially in warm conditions).

Makeup Brushes -NYX - blush brush
mochaholic 7/28/2009 6:39:00 PM
Another strike for NYX makeup brushes. I only got it b/c it was on clearance (75% off) and I wanted a smaller face brush for contouring. I like that it's all black and the little sleeve it comes with, but other than that, I hate it. The bristles are not smooth and kinda chunky looking/feeling (almost reminds me of the terrible Bare Minerals brush). I can't imagine paying full price for this. Please save your money and put it toward a better brush.

Tools -Wet 'n' Wild - Mini Eyelash Curler
mochaholic 6/27/2009 9:04:00 PM
Love that this is portable, easy to use (doesn't pinch), gets the job done (even my BF's stick straight lashes stayed curled the entire day), and inexpensive ($1.99). It is cheap and flimsy and doesn't work as well as the high-end traditional eyelash curlers, but if you're looking for a portable cheap alternative...this is it!

Lip Gloss -NYX - lipgloss with mega shine
mochaholic 6/25/2009 3:07:00 PM
Decided to give these a try since it was only $1 (clearance sale), and I am pleasantly surprised. I hate like the feeling of having anything other than lipbalm on my lips and am too lazy to deal w/ lipsticks and lipcolor in general. These lipglosses are pretty pigmented, so I just use a very sheer/light application and it adds just a touch of color without being too shimmery, is somewhat moisturizing, and doesn't feel heavy/goopy/sticky. It has a slight cherry scent that goes away, so I don't mind it even though I'm not a fan of scented makeup. Some lip products clog pores around my lip area, but this has not. The one HUGE problem is that the product is not sealed, so it's hard to tell if someone contaminated it. I am also not a fan of this type of applicator (seems germy). So far, I got this in Frosted Beige and Rust, and I like both of them (will probably try to pick up a few more if there is any left). I find Frosted Beige to be an awesome low-maintenance alternative for nude lips.
