Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Liquiline Blast in Blackfire

This is great and pretty cheap too. Just like the brown e/l I love this one also. I apply this around my waterline and this lasts a good amount of time. It still smudges a little after hours of wear but not as much as others I have tried that are even more expensive. (Mac smolder that's you). The color is just a simple matte black that you can use on the lid to line your lashes as well but I find I need to heat up the e/l a little first. The only con really is I don't care so much for the packaging. I don't use the little smudge sponge on the other end of this one or the brown e/l. Also I lost the plastic cap for the e/l end so I have to make sure to sharpen every time I use it so I don't distribute bacteria or any of that unnecessary stuff. I also found that the e/l was dried out more w/o the cap. I wish they just took off the smudge sponge end on the other side and put on a better cap but whateva! Still love it because it gets the job done and its convenient because its at every drug store.
I agree this concealer is very creamy but it does a decent job at covering dark circles. I RiS the shade natural which was a good match for my skin tone. For reference, I'm around nw20-nw25. I find that you need to apply a little at a time otherwise you can over do it and it will look too thick around the eyes. This applied better with my sigma concealer brush than with my ring finger. However, the reason I gave this a 3 is because even though I like this I don't love it and I will finish it up either way. The reason I also gave it a 3 is because its kind of pricey and I've tried other cheaper concealers and they worked better.
Treatments -Clean & Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
misslu990 9/28/2012 11:28:00 AM
Over all I like this product. It helps bring down the size of a pimple or helps after extracting a pimple. The consistency is gel-like and as other reviewers have said it also has a glue-like texture when applied to the skin. I only apply this after I remove my make up for the night on any spots or in the morning if I'm not putting on make up right away. If you happen to extract a pimple this might sting a little but that's only because there's salicylic acid in this. You only need a tiny amount so there's no need to glob on a bunch of product. The smell is a typical acne treatment smell/ chemical smell but it isn't very strong.
Lotions/ Creams -Carol's Daughter - Ecstasy Shea Souffle
misslu990 9/28/2012 1:55:00 AM
This product is horrible. I got this off hautelook when they were having a sale on carols daughter bath items and decided to try this scent. This is super thick and greasy and never settled into my skin. The smell of this reminds me of playdoh which is gross. I felt so greasy but I decided to sleep in it and see how my skin felt in the morning. I woke up and my sheets has a film where I laid down to sleep from this crap. The -worst- part of this was that after I washed my pajamas that next day and sheets they had the nastiest smell ever from this! The oils were still trapped in the fabric and it drove me nuts because the smell reminded me of like an old musty drawer if that makes any sense. This is the worst body lotion I have ever tried. My skin felt no different just greasy and I've had to wash my sheets multiple times. I definitely gave this away after that.
I have the body spray of this and I think it smells pretty good. To be honest, the smell reminds me of a blue jolly rancher more than anything. Not sure if anyone has said that already but that's my take on it. Victoria's Secret body sprays smell good for the most part but since they're a body spray they tend to not last long and some of their sprays and lotion smell overly sweet. However I will use this up but I put I won't repurchase because I would like to try out their other scents that smell better. The body spray is a pretty decent size but if you spray this continuously I can see going through this fast.
Lush is a hit or miss with me. I find some products I like (toothy tabs, bath bombs, ocean salt and some body washes) while there's some I dislike (mostly skin care). I find a lot of their skin care products are very clog prone for me. When I applied this after washing my face and toning, this felt greasy when I applied it. It settled later on but I still felt like I had a film on my face. This helped calm down a couple blemishes I had but I noticed I had little bumps over my cheeks and my chin...that was another story. I had about 5 -painful- pimples on my chin and little bumps all over my cheeks. A lot of the ingredients in this can be very clog prone so if you have reactive skin I would stay away from this. My skin is sensitive oily and is very reactive to what I use. The price of this is outrageous for the amount I got. Sadly I didn't even look at the price when checking out which I normally do but I was eager to try this for some reason. Definitely a waste of money for me.
Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Woods Pure Almond Castile Soap
misslu990 9/26/2012 12:22:00 AM
I had to make a review for this product because there is so many uses for this! I recently got this off of vitacost.com for around 8 bucks and I've been loving it. I've only used it as a body wash and added it to baths but it says it can be used as a facial cleanser, shampoo, body wash, aromatherapeutic bath, facial pack (basically you put it on your face and apply a warm wash cloth and massage it into your skin), to clean around the house, or as laundry soap. I haven't tried every single use of this but I can tell you that my skin feels soft and moisturized after using this. It doesn't leave a funny residue on your skin after rinsing off either. I'm planning on trying it as a home cleaner and for laundry to see how well it does. This is a good price for the amount I got (32 fl oz) considering it should last me awhile. The smell reminds me of a cherry almond scent and the scent lingers on my skin faintly after I get out of the shower. I love stuff that's natural and multi purpose and this would be perfect if you have infants or young kids in the house and you are looking for something less harmful to use or clean up with.
Absolutely one of my favorite blushes. I have light skin that I would say is neutral toned but leans more toward cool than warm. I love TheBalm packaging its old fashioned in a way yet modern. This is a cool toned pink that I think would suite a lot of different skin tones. It mimics similarly to when I blush so I definitely like to have a blush that doesn't look obviously fake. Coverage is build able and I only need a tiny amount and apply to the apples of the cheeks. I love that this is matte also and not all sparkly. Paraben free also which is a plus for some. I find that this lasts through out a majority of the day and hasn't broken me out. Will be repurchasing but not for awhile because I have a lot. I actually got this in a swap but I know it's about 20 something bucks but hautelook has it half off right now and others in reviews have said you can get it at Marshall's or tj maxx so you don't have to pay full price:)
Concealers -Sonia Kashuk - Hidden Agenda Concealer Kit
misslu990 9/25/2012 2:51:00 PM
This is actually a really good affordable concealer. It comes with three creamy concealers and a powder. The compact is really great for travel I've taken it with me on a couple trips and its never broke. I especially like that there's different shades so you can customize your shade of concealer to match your skin tone or if you get darker in summer and lighter in winter it works out both ways. You can apply with your fingertips but I find I get better coverage with one of my sigma concealer brushes. It can crease if you apply too much or if you don't set it but usually this holds up all day. Nothing bothers me more than seeing pictures and my concealer is totally noticeable compared to my foundation and this doesn't do that since its able to blend well and isn't too. i think this palette will last me a long time so I won't be repurchasing any time soon but when I'm out i will probably repurchase.
Love this stuff! I bought this off of amazon and it came with a pump so once I got it I took off the cap and attached the pump. The pump is great instead of having to take off the cap and put it back on time and time again. Lazy I know, right? But it has a lock on it also. Now getting the the oil itself...this stuff has drastically helped in the improvement of my hair besides nioxin. I apply this about 15 min after I get out of the shower when my hair has dried a little. I start with the ends and work my way up to the middle of my hair then use a teeny bit to run through the ends of my bangs. I can't get enough of how good the smell of this is. It has a musky smell to it. I got the light version because I have fine hair that's colored and high lighted but I have LOTS of hair. This stuff moisturizes but doesn't make my hair feel heavy at all. This stuff is pricy but I will still repurchase anyways because it works for my hair. My ends look more healthy when I use this.
Eye Shadow -mark - I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow - Java
misslu990 9/21/2012 5:58:00 PM
I've hit pan on this one along with plum velvet and this is one of my favorites. It's a cool dark brown that's great for a smoky eye look. You can apply it all over the lid or crease. I've actually used this as a liner before too. Buildable color and lasts a good amount of time through out the day. It's not overly sparkly yet has a subtle amount which I enjoy because I like to have a variety of both in my make up collection. This eye shadow has lasted me a long time but since immalmost out I'll be repurchasing soon to refill my mark palette. The brushes in the mark palette work pretty well but I prefer some sigma and Mac brushes.
Eye Shadow -mark - I-Mark Custom Shadow - Plum Velvet
misslu990 9/21/2012 5:50:00 PM
I really do enjoy the mark eye shadows considering having both ds and he brands of eye shadows, this is a good brand. This is one of the few eye shadows in my collection that I have hit pan on and for good reason. This color is very pigmented and applies smoothly. The color pay off is great and plum velvet describes it perfectly. Sounds weird but my eye color changes to a more greenish color when I wear this eye shadow. Especially in the sun. The color works perfect on its own or in the crease or bottom lash line. I'm very picky about purple eye shadows but this one works very well. I would suggest ordering the empty mark palette and putting the mark eye shadows in that or if you have another magnetic eye shadow pan palette that works also. I have 5 other eye shadows from mark besides this one and a get glowing blush that I put in the large size mark palette and the palette is really convenient for me. I will definitely have to be repurchasing this soon. The price isn't bad at all either so it's worth giving it a try:)
I don't know WHY I haven't reviewed this yet when I've had this for 2 years. Yet it still smells the same as when I first bought it. Let me start off with that I'm very sensitive to smell and I can get really bad head aches from certain perfumes. This has never given me a head ache and it smells so light and fresh and upbeat. I would describe the smell as fruity & floral blended together. It works very well for me as some scents can come off weird on my body. I still have about 1/4 left and I will be buying this again when run out even though it's expensive. I hate the other Chanel perfumes but this one is perfect.
Lotions/ Creams -Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 15% Glycolic Body Lotion
misslu990 9/19/2012 2:51:00 AM
This stuff is the best! I apply this after I shower and it sinks in fast. I don't really care for the smell but my skin is much smoother and looks firmer. The bottle is a decent size but I feel like I'm going to go through it fast. The only things you make sure you do is to not apply this to an area that you have an open wound on because it will sting. Also make sure to wear SPF during the day because this will make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Will be repurchasing when I run out
I don't use this as a toner on my face but I do take 2 tbs a day. I just dilute this by adding 1 tbs twice a day to a glass of water. This is supposed to be good for speeding up your metabolism and aiding in weight loss. I haven't tried using this in salads yet but I'm planning on it. As far as the taste, it took some time to get used to it but now I don't mind as long as the glass of water is cold. The smell is more pungent than anything so I can see why some people wouldn't like it. But the benefits outweigh the smell. The other day I woke up with a really bad stomach ache and I poured a glass of water and added some apple cider vinegar to it and drank it. It really helped my stomach feel better so it definitely helps with digestion. Ive also used this on my hair as a rinse and it really helped give my hair some shine and felt clean. II buy big bottles of it off of vitacost.com and the price isn't bad at all for the size you get. I will be repurchasing again and again UPDATE 10/2/2012: I used this a couple days ago as a dressing for a salad and included some olive oil and it tasted really good. If you like an oil and vinegar dressing then replace the vinegar with apple cider vinegar. It's much better for you and saves calories and bad fats that are found in a lot of other dressings.
