I agree with SherryL - anything that says it is going to heal split ends is lying. =) I have LOTS of curly/wavy color-treated hair, and my stylist/colorist recommends this as a leave-in conditioning treamtnent. I apply a little bit to towel-dried hair, then use my diffuser to dry, then spot treat puffy spots as needed. I love the pump, and though it cost me $14, it is a huge bottle - I can't imagine finishing it! I wish it was unscented though -- it's not a strong smell on my hair, but I like to walk through my perfume so it scents my hair. Anyway, my hair seems to like this stuff.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

Works pretty well -- smooth application, dries to a satiny finish, and has basically no color on me, which is good -- HOWEVER from the very start, almost nothing would come out on the doe-foot applicator. And the tube is opaque so you can't even see what's in there -- which, I suspect, is barely anything at all. Sorry, but the quantity is not worth the price tag. You probably get more La Mer cream per dollar than this stuff. Went back to Sephora today.

I got one in a swap -- a gorgeous teal color -- but it smudged like crazy. No thanks! Perhaps there is another formula that stays on better ...?

Eye Shadow -MAC - Greystone eye shadow

I love this color! I had a charcoal gray shadow but somehow it overwhelmed my eyes rather than highlight them -- THIS color, however, has blue undertones, which makes my blue eyes look bluer. It has a lot of pigment and blends well with lots of other colors. I like it with Shu ME Gray 944. Nice smokey eye, wearable for day. Also nice as a wet liner. Love!

Treatments -L'Oreal - Transformance
rated 2 of 5

From the Lorealparisusa.com website: "Skin Perfecting Solution At last, the skin you've always wanted. Ultra-soft. Ultra-smooth. Newly even. Virtually poreless. Flawless... Transformance is a light moisturizing treatment that softly hydrates for visibly more radiant, even-toned, and ultra-smooth skin. Use Transfor-mance after your cleansing and toning routine - alone or under your favorite moisturizer." I really liked the texture of this product -- very smooth, with a pearly look to it. It applied very nicely on my face and didn't leave any kind of greasy or sticky finish. No fragrance. It is not very moisturizing however, and anyone with dry skin would want to use this under a moisturizer. It is silicone-based, and I think this caused problems for me -- I encountered a few breakouts after I used it for a 2-3 days (twice a day). I think this will likely get mixed reviews, as I spoke with another person who had posted about it on the Skincare board, and she had breakouts too. I doubt it will truly "transform" anybody's skin but it does make your skin feel smooth after you apply it.

Scrubs -Alba Botanica - Sea Enzyme Facial Scrub

Overall I really like this product -- except for ONE thing: it has what is, to me, a heavy scent. Eep. But the scrubbing granules are gentle and it hasn't irritated my skin, so I give it two thumbs up. I can ignore the smell. :-)

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Pots gel eye-liner
rated 3 of 5
mellody43 8/29/2004 7:26:00 PM

I used this for about 2 weeks and gave up in favor of Bobbi Brown's gel liner. I loved the look I could create and the durability of the line, but found it too dry to apply easily and smudge/blend. I used it most frequently with a brush dampened with eyeliner sealant in an attempt to get it to be more spreadable on my lashline. After trying BB's, I realized the Smudge Pot was not the right product for me.

Mascara -Maybelline - Lash Expansion [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5

For every day use, this mascara seems just fine. But don't wear it to a club, to the gym, or during any other activity during which you may break a sweat: I ended up with raccoon eyes, a FIRST for me, and I don't even wear mascara on the bottom lashes. What in the world?! Argh.

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tinted Lip Conditioner - Plum Perfect
rated 4 of 5
mellody43 5/18/2004 7:05:00 PM

The bad news first: I don't like pot products. I end up with a plummy fingertip, plus it's getting to the point where my nail is rubbing on the surface - gah! Anyway, PLEASE MAC, put this in a TUBE! *beg* The good news: LOVE the color. Gives a nice flush when lightly applied, or a plummy pink pout when I put more on. Great for giving my pale lips a boost. LOVE the scent (fades, as does the taste). LOVE that I can schmear this on and be instantly kissable -- no goop, no weird taste, just pretty smoochable lips. A winner when your dinner date goes to the bathroom -- sneak a little on and you are ready to go, gals!

Eye Shadow -Milani - Almondine (25)
rated 3 of 5

I thought this would be a good base color for me but it's a little too dark. It looks a bit muddy/dirty on me. :-( Cheap though! =) I prefer MAC Discrete or Bare Canvas.

Hated the container (small pot opening; after the first few uses, how would you get your finger in there?) -- hated the scent (cloyingly sweet) -- nothing extraordinary in terms of color or wear.

Lip Liners -MAC - Half-Red
rated 3 of 5
mellody43 4/5/2004 2:56:00 PM

Sad about this - LOVED the color (anyone know of a lipstick equivalent?) -- but I could not tolerate now dry it was. Over a dryish lip balm it would sort of get smudgy at the edge of my lips. Without lip balm it was almost unwearable. I think I'm giving up on lip liners!

Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - M Purple 743
rated 4 of 5
mellody43 2/24/2004 1:39:00 PM

I got this by mistake, actually, on ebay -- thought it was a different shade. However, I do like it quite a bit! It is a true pastel lavender shade. Matte, silky. I have no trouble getting it to show up on my eyes. I used it in the innercorners and browbone with a more bluish shade on the lid and it looked beautiful too. I can see how this may not show up on some people but I think this will be a nice addition to my collection for spring. I would not repurchase though as it is not so spectacular that I'd want to spend $18 on it, but I got it for $8 so I'm not complaining =)

Eye Shadow -Shu Uemura - ME Gray 944
rated 5 of 5

Love this color! Long lasting (esp applied with damp brush over concealer as eye base), and perks up my eyes without looking too overdone. Suitable for daytime. Softer version of ME Silver 945. If you are looking for a liner that mimics the color of this, Biotherm has a pencil ... I'll look up the # and update this review =)

Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - Creamy Color Gloss

*Disappointed!* Loved the color (Dusk). Love how it wears. HATE the brush. WHy did they change it from the sponge tip in the older packaging? Oh well. My brush splayed and shed within 10 days of my purchase; it went back. Sorry, Bobbi.
