The full sized jar is around $25. I bought the color in medium beige and sadly, it no longer matches my face, as I've lightened up significantly. I'm around an NC20 now. The powder doesn't leave me feeling overly greasy, just dewy. I haven't experienced any irritation or break outs. It's easy to wash off. One jar lasted me over a year. I'm glad that they now have a cover on the sifter so all the powder doesn't spill out. I actually still have about half of the product left. I'm not sure if I will repurchase since I use bb creams :) Update (7/22/2011): This product deserves a five star rating. I'm going to consider buying this or the matte version in Fairly Light when I start college. Will update again soon. Only downside is that the matte version contains .2 ounces of product and costs $28.
Concealers -Maybelline - Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Concealer
lydiaxaidyl 7/11/2011 7:29:00 PM
The color match was perfect for me, and the consistency was just right for covering up my spots. I no longer need to use this though since I rarely have acne. I tried using it under my eyes and the concealer settled into my fine lines. I don't like dotting the product onto my skin from the wand. Instead I place some of the concealer onto the back of my hand and proceed to applying it to my spots.
Moisturizers -Garnier - Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream
lydiaxaidyl 7/11/2011 7:23:00 PM
While this product may provide enough moisture to the skin without leaving it feeling greasy, the high amount of denatured alcohol, which is said to promote free radical damage and the breakdown of collagen, irritates the skin on my cheeks. With that being said, my skin is nice and matte and the cream smells like apples. I personally don't think moisturizers should be packaged in jars, as any inclusion of antioxidants may be destroyed from their exposure to the air.
Cleansers -Garnier - Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Daily Exfoliating Gel Cleanser
lydiaxaidyl 7/11/2011 7:11:00 PM
I love this product; however, I haven't used it in over a year since it is not readily available at my local Target. I can't say whether it is effective at reducing acne since I don't really break out. The smell is quite pleasant and the micro beads slough away my dead skin nicely. This cleanser does not leave my skin feeling dry and completely removes all my sun block and powder. :D I would definitely re-purchase this.
This product did not irritate my skin; however, it didn't leave my skin feeling clean, as some residue from my sun block remained. I'm not too fond of the smell. The texture of the cleanser is viscous. It doesn't foam up when combined with water. I purchased this for around $8 at target :D One bottle does last quite a while though. I will not be repurchasing since it doesn't really do anything extra for my skin.
Cleansers -Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Moisturizing Cream Cleanser [DISCONTINUED]
lydiaxaidyl 7/11/2011 1:58:00 AM
I bought this product a year ago before leaving on a school trip. I used it the night before I was supposed to leave, and within five minutes, my face turned bright. The product left a film on my face, which gave my skin a leathery texture. Luckily, the breakout subsided within a few days. This might work well for other people though. Unfortunately, I had to throw out the entire tube as I lost my receipt. I can't say whether the cleanser is effective in removing makeup as I tried it after I used a foaming cleanser.
This product contains mineral oil, which occasionally clogs my skin when used on my forehead or chin. I've had this for about 10 months and still have around 90% of the product left. I find that a little goes a long way. I have this in shade 21, which matches my nc 20-25 skin. Sometimes I find that this bb cream makes my skin slightly red after wearing it for a long time. I use around 1/4 of a pea sized amount. This has a baby powder scent, which I personally like. I'm glad I managed to buy this at a fraction of the cost since I definitely won't be re-buying it. I'm not too sure what I'm going to be doing with my tube as I find that it's a waste to trash it. Update (7/5/2011): I threw out my tube, which is a waste. It definitely would have been an HG product if it weren't for the occasionally irritation it caused my skin. This combined with my Shiseido SPF 55 sunscreen effectively lightened my skin tone within a few months. I went from around an NC30-35 shade to about NC20. The bb cream and sunscreen keep my skin around NC15-20 even during the summer when I'm exposed to the sun a lot. Update: (11/29/2012): I don't think this was irritating my skin, but I was dumb enough to throw out the entire tube. Will update again when I order it. Also it was my DHC cleansing oil that was causing my skin to break out not this product.
You can buy this bb cream on Amazon around nine to fourteen dollars, a fraction of the original cost. The cream is housed in an attractive hot pink bottle, and I was fortunate enough to receive the new packaging, a smaller bottle; however, I would be wary of carrying this around without a protective bag, as this might leak if you accidentally press the button on top. The shade comes out a bit grey, but later oxidizes into my skin tone. I'm around NC 20-25. I'd say that the Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream spreads more easily on my skin and is a better match, but since it contains mineral oil, I cannot use it on my forehead and chin as I will break out. This product has a mild floral scent, which doesn't bother me. If this product was in a squeeze tube I'd definitely give it a five star rating. The coverage is sheer while the Missha offers medium to full coverage. I don't find that my skin becomes more oily when using this. I occasionally powder this off with my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Light/Medium. Edit: This is currently my favorite bb cream :D
Sunscreen -Laneige - Sun Block High Lasting SPF 50 PA+++
lydiaxaidyl 6/21/2011 5:26:00 PM
I have combination normal skin, and this product leaves my skin looking very oily, which I don't mind. The product spreads easily and has the signature Laneige scent. Now I cannot use most Laneige moisturizers, either because of their heavy fragrances or unnecessary plant extracts, but this product works well for me. The color of the sun block is an off white shade, and when blended, leaves a luminous cast. For some reason this only leaves my skin oily when used on my face. There's 70ml of product in one bottle. I paid around $27 for this product, but it's priced around $20. I've used Shiseido sun creams in the past, even ones that claim to easily be washed off by normal cleansers, but in the end, have all clogged my skin. The bottle has a squeeze tube design and an orange screw on cap. Update: I found that my skin was especially oily after wearing this for the first time; however, now that I've been wearing this for over a week, the finish is less greasy and more dewy.
Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
lydiaxaidyl 6/21/2011 1:28:00 AM
I don't really have puffy eyes except on days I receive less than 6 hours of sleep. This product does reduce the puffiness on my upper eye lids. I don't really have bags or dark circles. I will say that the metal roller ball does give my skin a cooling sensation. I might consider popping the tube in the refrigerator too. The formula is thin and does not leave a sticky finish on my skin. The roller has never leaked either, which is good :) You get a lot of product for your money. I like how the tube is clear so I can tell when I'm running low.
Let me just say that this is the only cleanser I have tried so far that completely removes my sun block. The scent smells strongly of olive oil, which I don't really mind. Although it has a thick texture, it spreads quite easily over the skin. My skin does not feel taut after using this, which is important since I follow up with a cleansing foam. This does sting quite a bit when I get it into my eyes though. I use half and pump, which is sufficient in covering my entire face. I lightly massage the golden liquid into my skin for about a minute or more and can often feel sebum plugs come out of my pores. My skin does not feel oily afterwards. For its quality I think the $26 price tag is well worth it. I go through a bottle every 6 months or so since I use have a pump a day. This product is basically my guarantee to acne-free skin and doesn't aggravate my sometimes sensitive skin. Best cleanser ever. :D Update (7/22/2011): I've been using this product for more than half a year, and I'm sad to say that it is responsible for making me break out on my forehead. Not to say that it isn't a great cleanser though, since it IS. It just doesn't work out for me. Maybe I don't need all that cleansing :) Definitely try the product out though, especially if you wear bb cream or sun block.
Treatments -Clean & Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
lydiaxaidyl 6/20/2011 8:55:00 PM
I find that while benzyl peroxide is more effective at reducing the size of my blemishes, it is more irritating than salicylic acid. This product does not dry out my skin or cause any sensitivities. It smells nice and also contains alcohol. I don't really mind since I only use this on my forehead and chin. I have clogged pores from sun block, and this reduces my acne and prevents acne scarring. Well the product itself doesn't prevent acne scarring. Not picking at the your pimples and keeping your hands away from them will reduce scarring :)
This product smells very nice and lasts a long time. It has a gel like consistency and spreads easily on the skin. It doesn't absorb quickly, but I don't really mind. I don't really have dry skin so I can't say whether it does provide extra moisture. My skin glows a little when I wake up, but occasionally this product does irritate my skin. The pamphlet does advise you to use it once a week. I also think there are exfoliating properties too. Supposedly, Recoverine from Chestnutes and Hunza Apricot extracts promote skin turnover. I use this on my neck most of the time. If I apply too much product onto my face I find that my skin flushes a bit, which is annoying. The sleeping pack is priced around $24. There's 2.7 ounces of product.
I don't like jar packaging since it's unsanitary, and any traces of antioxidants are destroyed by their exposure to oxygen. The product smells very nice and easily absorbs into my skin; however, either the extracts or fragrance irritates my skin. Very disappointing for me. :O The gel also has a nice consistency. I'm not sure if the product contains alcohol.
Moisturizers -Laneige - Balancing Emulsion Moisture
lydiaxaidyl 6/20/2011 6:43:00 PM
I bought this product for $24. The glass bottle holds around 4 ounces of product. While I really wanted to like this product, my skin just did not agree with the ingredients. The description sounds very promising, but the unnecessary extracts only irritate my skin. This turns my skin very pink. Instead, I use this product as a body lotion. It doesn't do a great job at moisturizing my face, but it is an emulsion after all. It smells amazing btw. I personally think Laneige should come out with it's own perfume. I'd definitely buy it. I might also be sensitive to its fragrance though, I'm not sure. I can't really use a lot of products from the brand since everything is so highly fragranced.
