Concealers -Maybelline - Fit Me
lizzea 7/3/2012 9:05:00 PM
I only wouldn't buy this again simply because I want to find my HG concealer, and this isn't it, but that being said, it is a VERY GOOD drugstore concealer that I got at an absolute steal of a price when Target had a 40% off maybelline cosmetics sale. 'Deep' is the perfect colour match for me (something I was shocked by since I've never been able to find the right concealer in terms of colour!) which I'm super happy about. It blends well with fingers but even better with a brush and you don't need much. It lasts most of the day too. The only downside for me is that I feel that there's not a lot of product in it or maybe I'm just using too much at a time as I have a lot of pigmentation/acne scarring to cover up! This is a good choice if you need to make a purchase out of convenience and doesnt' break me out either.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - 8-pan Palette "Comfort Zone"
lizzea 7/1/2012 3:30:00 AM
I doubt I'll need to buy this again as it's enough product for me (especially since I have a ton of other shadows!) but this is such a beautiful, highly pigmented, smooth set of eyeshadows. There is a bit of fall out with the darker shades but nothing that can't be fixed with a cotton bud/Q-Tip. I am floored by the quality of the shadows at such an unbelievably low price, and this set of neutrals will suit everyone who doesn't mind a bit of shimmer. The only downside to this palette is the flimsy packaging, so handle with care if you're travelling (or take other shadows instead).

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Swisspers - Jumbo Plus Cotton Balls
lizzea 6/17/2012 10:55:00 PM
The only cottonballs I'll use on my face... I know it sounds stupid but I've tried cheaper brands and they're so rough and gross compared to these. I have cystic acne so I have to be careful with *everything* I use on my face, including the cotton swabs/balls and these are the softest, largest cotton balls I've used. They're slightly more expensive than the cheapest but worth it. I'll use the cheap ones to remove nail polish.

Toners -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Toner
lizzea 6/14/2012 3:25:00 AM
I've been using this on and off for years and it's really not one of my favourites from this line... I have been a user and fan of PC products since 2007 but like most lines, there are a few misses for me and this one is unfortunately one of them. Whenever I use this for a few months I really don't see much of a difference or improvement to my skin, it does remove any extra makeup after my normal cleansing but no more than when I use any other toner really. I prefer Proactiv's revitalising toner over this one, even though I wanted to love this toner so much, it just hasn't worked for me over the last 5 years which is a shame, because I use the PC balancing cleanser and RESIST moisturiser and LOVE them so much.

Shampoo -TRESemme - tresemme 2 in 1 For Normal Hair
lizzea 6/12/2012 9:46:00 PM
Using this once a week to clear out build up in my hair from products and other shampoos and conditioners and it effectively cleanses without drying out my hair. I have problems with flakiness on the front of my scalp (not really dandruff but more just flaking in certain areas) and it cleanses that right off too without being at all harsh on my scalp. Other shampoos that i've used don't do this. I won't need to use this often in my regime, just once a week, or twice if I've gone swimming or something. Really excellent shampoo/conditioner combo and great for getting build up out. I have coloured hair too and it's gentle enough for that, even though it just says it's formulated for 'normal' hair. Thumbs up!

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Magic Lumi - Light Infusing Primer
lizzea 6/12/2012 9:36:00 PM
I doubt I'll need to repurchase this as I only use a tiny bit at a time, a little goes a long way although it doesn't seem to 'show up' straight away... it is a complete dupe for lancome's eclat miracle and is a fraction of the price. so lovely and you can use it for a subtle highlight like I do (as my skin tends to get naturally dewy throughout the day) on my cheekbones under a thin layer of foundation, or you can mix some in with your foundation for an all over glow if you have dry skin. For me, a little goes a very long way and I love that there's a pump so you don't waste product. I rarely use any sort of highlighter but wanted a little bit of a glow on my cheekbones as part of a 'no makeup makeup' look (see lisa eldridge's tutorial!) and it really is a good product for that. Not sure if you want to use it as a primer if you're oily but it's a really nice highlighter for the places you want to emphasise. Highly recommend!

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter
lizzea 6/1/2012 2:03:00 AM
Ahhh love these so much. My HG Lip product. Moisturising and pigmented enough for me and have the shades that suit my skin tone. Some are a little too sheer for me but you can just avoid them as there are so many different shades that will suit people. Love.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Make-up Remover Cleansing Towelettes
lizzea 5/28/2012 11:38:00 PM
I've been using this for years and it's such a good makeup remover when you're in a hurry. I don't like using wipes but when I need to, this is my go-to and I haven't found another that is as effective and doesn't irritate skin. You'll still need to cleanse afterwards if you have heavy makeup, but it does take the majority off and doesn't leave skin feeling tight. The scent is a bit funny but bearable. Recommend!

Cleansers -Avene - Cleansing and Make-Up Remover Micellar Lotion
lizzea 5/28/2012 11:33:00 PM
Ugh! Doesn't work as a cleanser or makeup remover at all, even when I have the lightest of makeup on. I remember seeing this in a magazine as a good alternative to the bioderma (not available where I live) so it made me curious more than anything (I have not yet tried the bioderma). Big fail. Kinda just feels like applying slightly oily water to your face that doesn't remove much of anything. If doesn't leave my skin dry or tight feeling but it doesn't do what it claims either. I would skip this.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Dreams Unlimited Body Lotion
lizzea 5/23/2012 10:48:00 PM
I love this scent and only wouldn't buy the lotion again because I prefer the body butter, but it's still a nice lotion. The scent can be quite overwhelming and strong, so use sparingly. I use this and the body butter (separately) on my legs and elbows. It does moisturise but again, not as good as the body butter. Smells lovely and my boyfriend loves the scent on me :)

Eyeliner -Bourjois - Liner Feutre - 11 Noir
lizzea 5/22/2012 1:29:00 AM
Not understanding the bad reviews of this liner... I used to have super oily lids (they are only just a bit oily now) so I've had my fair share of terrible liner experiences but this was not one! It goes on very opaquely and smoothly and I had no problems with it smudging or fading. I did apply it on top of a primer potion which had l'oreal infallible eyeshadow over it (then the liner on top of that) and it has worn 7 hours and only has *just* started to transfer a little onto my lower lid. I've tried a lot of brands of liquid liner and they've all been disappointing until this one. Really loving it. I got it on sale, so maybe that doesn't hurt :P

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible Eyeshadow in 408 Gleaming Bronze
lizzea 5/22/2012 1:22:00 AM
So beautiful, like the other infallible eyeshadows. Needs fingers to apply as a brush won't work, but the slight mess is totally worth it, lasts all day and is buildable so you can make it as natural or as dramatic as you like. Beautiful.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible Eyeshadow in Continuous Cocoa #891
lizzea 5/22/2012 1:21:00 AM
Stunning, like the other infallible eyeshadows. Needs to be applied with fingers, definitely not a brush as it won't transfer at all from the brush to lids. Will last all day, super versatile colour and not too sparkly. Gorgeous.
