Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Iconic High Definition Lash Curler Mascara

Ok, so I know that people LOVE this product, but frankly I think there are MANY other mascaras out there that work better and are not as expensive. My favorite mascara is the original DiorShow. I LOVE it. The big,fat brush is amazing and for some reason this one doesn't have that brush. Frankly, I am getting quite annoyed at all these companies trying to "re invent the wheel" here with mascara brushes. Everytime I try a new mascara with some "new and amazing" mascara wand I hate it. The only thing I love about this product is that you can layer it, since I have a tendency to apply one too many coats of my mascara and that can make me eyelashes look clumpy and stuff.Oh and I still had to curl my lashes, I have yet to find a curling mascara that truely makes the need for an eyelash curler dissapear. This mascara definately works but I just think for the price the original DiorShow is still the best mascara out there.
I think part of the reason I love this product is because of the packaging. It's just SO pretty. This is for Undressed Beige. It's a very pretty beige colour with some shimmer. I LOVE how it feels but have found that it tends to be hard to transfer it from my finger to my eyelid. Very slippery. It's the perfect product and color for those days when you don't really have time to do your full makeup routine but still want to look put together. I would have given this only three lippies but added one because everytime I wear this I get tons of compliments on my eye makeup!
Scrubs -Philosophy - Sweet Coconut Milk Salt Scrub
lilamyg 10/19/2008 9:20:00 AM
This is one of THE best products I've tried in a LONG time! Have you ever been shopping and contemplated purchasing something but you're just not sure if you need it? That's how I felt about this. I have never used a salt scrub before. I've always just used an "exfoliating body wash" once in awhile. So I was skeptical about this. I picked this up yesterday at Sephora. When I got home I jumped in the shower and started using it(after my shower I read that it says use on dry skin THEN shower...oops!!). It scratched a little but still felt good and definately SMELLED good. I ended up using a bit too much actually but it really smelled amazing!. K so anyways I got outta the shower and was AMAZED! I mean literally I couldn't believe it. Now my skin isn't dry by any means but after using this I couldn't believe what I had been missing out on! My elbows...they were SMOOTH! Earlier in the day my mom had told me I had "elephant elbows" haha. This stuff is AMAZING! My skin looks and feels completely different. Will definately repurchase again and again. Everyone should try this.
I must be the minority here. This review is for the Lindsay Pink(I'm putting this in the general DiorShow review also). I think the packaging is actually what sold me on this cause it's SO cute!! Anyways, this gloss looks SOOOO pretty in the pot. But upon application is is SO glittery! And SILVER glitter too! Maybe if it was pink glitter in it instead it would look better but I always end up looking like a 12 year old that just discovered makeup when I wear this. Also, I had it on and kissed my boyfriend's cheek and he literally COULD NOT get the silver glitter off his face! I mean ALOT of it too. Not cool. EDIT:Ok i gave this product an extra lippie now because I have gotten about 10 compliments on it! Even the boy at the gas station said he liked my lip gloss! And he was like 16. So apparently it does get attention.

I LOVE this scent! It is very expensive( I think I paid $150 at Saks) but it stays on FOREVER! I seem to be the minority because everyone that smells it on me doesn't care for it. I LOVEE it though, maybe it's because I'm french or maybe it's the adorable packaging, but I really do love this.
Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - Secret Brightening Powder
lilamyg 10/18/2008 1:30:00 PM
AMAZING! Until I purchased this NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING had been able to conceal my dark circles! After apply a cream concealer I use this with Bare Esentuals Summer Bisque. I mix them together with a concealer brush and apply under my eyes. Amazing! Iknow this just looks like a white powder but it works SO well! A little goes a LONG way too! This will probably last me years!
Ehh...this product is alright...but for the price I would just buy the secret brightening POWDER which is the most amazing creation ever for hiding under eye circles.
I LOVE this product. I use it in combination with Benefit's Boi-oing (spelling?haha) concealer & Laura Mercier White Secret powder(or something like that!). Anyways...it's amazing for covering upmy under eye circles. I have completely clear skin though so as far as covering up pimples, I can't review it on that. My only issue is that the product get VERY clogged in the sifter about halway through the container.
I LOVE this perfume! It stays on FOREVER! My mom purchased it also after she confessed she'd been using mine whenever I would stop by my parents house. It's definately more of a night perfume for me, and my boyfriend thinks it smells WAY too strong, which I can agree withhim to an extent. I still LOVE my Pink Sugar, but for me, this is the best D&G fragarence out there and def has more staying power than Light Blue.
Hair Styling Tools -Farouk CHI - Chi Ceramic Flat Iron by Farouk
lilamyg 10/18/2008 10:32:00 AM
OK, so I know I'm the minority here but I HATE this flat iron! First, let me say that yes, it makes your hair straight. Yes, it it easy to use. I have THICK, CURLY hair that I straighten 2-3 times a week. I take GOOD care of my styling products. The reason I gave this 2 lippies is NOT because of how it straightens. It's because I have gone through THREE of these in the past 2 years. The first one broke for NO reason. One day I went to plug it in and the light just wouldn't go on. Then it would go really low and shut on and off. It had been more than a year(by 2months) so I bought a new one(stupid me). 11 months later the SAME thing happened. I sent it in(warranty), along with the 30$ check(BS!!) and after 2 months I still haven't gotten a new one yet(umm hello I can't LIVE without my straightener), even after calling Farouk a million times! My bf took apart my first one and said that the wires burnt out and that's why it broke. He said that never should have happened. I thought it was just me, but since this whole process began my sister's CHI has broken, and 2 of my friends have had the same problem. Maybe we're getting a bad batch of these up here in NH or something!! I now have the Sedu flat iron and it works 1,000,000 times better than my CHI ever did! If you purchase this MAKE SURE you keep the receipt!
Styling Products -KMS California - Flat Out Shine Serum
lilamyg 10/18/2008 10:18:00 AM
I do NOT like this product. I had almost the same results as the girl below me. This product is VERY expensive. I will give KMS one thing, they do know how to SELL a product because from the description on the back, anyone would want to purchase this!. First, I found it annoying I had to shake this product vigorously before I had to put it on(It seperates SO much in the bottle). It felt like GLUE when I put it in(FYI- I ALWAYS use styling products sparingly, esp since I straighten my hair and most straightening products are greasy). I couldn't even straighten my hair! When I FINALLY got it alright looking, I ended up having to wash and restraighten it the NEXT DAY(I can usually get 2-3 days outta my straightening using baby powder and dry shampoo) which would be SO damaging to my hair if I had to do that everyday. Will def either throw away or give to someone else.
I used this shampoo and conditioner religiously for the past oh...6(?) years. It definately does what it syas it's going to do, and compared to some other (ahem B&B, Loreal Professional) salon brands it is relatively inexpensive. If my L'oreal Professional line ever gets discontinued I will go back to using this product.
I do like this product but the reason I only gave it 3lippies is because there are SO MANY better straightening products out there now that aren't SO expensive. I find that B&B products for me are either hit or miss. I have super CURLY hair that I straighten 2-3 times a week. It is overprocessed and damaged(until recently because of B&B Creme de Coco Masque!. This product helps with the straightening like it says but I found the consistency to be WAY to sticky, which makes it hard to get an even application. Overall I would probably get a different product that's cheaper for straightening.
Treatments -Bumble & Bumble - Bumble and Bumble Creme de Coco Masque
lilamyg 10/18/2008 10:01:00 AM
Ok so for the past 8 or so years (I'm 24 now) I have been highlighting my hair. Once a year I usually do a drastic change to black. A few months ago I had a HORRIBLE experience with letting someoneother than my stylist do my hair. It came out white blonde with chunks of brassiness. So I dyed over it. Then put a semi permanent brown gloss over it. My hair was literally falling out! Finally after 2 months of mousy brown hair I had an appt last week with my regular stylist. Back to blonde! Needless to say my hair was DAMAGED! Super straw like and falling out. She GAVE me this bottle cause she felt so bad for me. I have since used it two times. And my hair looks and feels AMAZING! This product is expensive I guess but for what it does it's priceless to me! If you have a similar hair trauma like I have I HIGHLY recommend this product!
