Moisturizers -Eucerin - Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme

Wow, what a great, basic, affordable moisturizer. I use this as a night moisturizer during the winter months. It is creamy and moisturizing without feeling greasy. It absorbs into my skin quickly and I wake up with super soft skin. I generally like my moisturizers to have a pump instead of a jar but this jar is made of glass and it's not too bulky so it doesn't take up too much space on my counter. I think the glass jar makes it seem less cheap for some reason. It's affordable, and you can find it at Walmart or and drugstore. The color is kind of strange (a yellow, butter-y color) but I was reading the package and it was saying something about it coming from some of the ingredients used. I don't smell anything when I wear it. I'm not sure what others are picking up on that I'm not. At any rate, I highly recommend and I will always use this when I have dry skin and during the winter months. Edit: had to stop using all over my face because it made me break out but I use it as night eye cream and I love it. I'd buy again as a eye cream!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Naturale
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 1/11/2011 1:40:00 PM

I actually like this mascara. It's the only mascara I like from the Voluminous line. It gives you exactly what it claims----natural looking lashes with volumne. I like how clean the brush is when it comes out of the tube. It has a plastic brush kind of like a CG Lash Blast brush (except this one is on the South Beach diet). It's a great brush for getting in the corners of your eyes, and the bottom lid lashes. I feel that this mascara truly gives me voluminous lashes. It can clump on me a little bit, but nothing too bad unlike the other versions of Voluminous. For me it's easy to wash off, but like others, I have noticed that the formula tends to "harden" my lashes. It's not a big deal for me though. This mascara was cheap, easy to use and I liked the results. I'd buy again. Edit: Knocked a lippie off because it tends to clump my lashes on the sides if you apply too quickly. I'm finding that it's a fussy mascara that you have to apply carefully starting at the base of your lashes and slowly combing up. It's turning into the mascara I grab each day for my lower lash line. I still like it for my top lashes but only when I have extra time to get it on correctly.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner

I thought I liked L'Oreal's Linuer Intense until I tried this. The darkness of this black is much better the the L'Oreal version. It has a similar felt tip applicator, but this one is shorter and easier to handle. I don't find myself having to dip in the pot over and over like I did with the Lineur Intense. One stroke for each eye does the trick. It's cheaper and it works better. I'd definitely repurchase.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Revitalift Radiant Smoothing Cleansing Towelettes

These towelettes aren't my favorite but they aren't bad at all. I usually pick these up when I see them on sale. Sometimes I can get them for about $4.00 when there's a sale going on. These remove my makeup effectively, they have a nice scent and they are very moisturizing. These don't have a texture to them, they are just smooth. I don't really like the packaging, I feel the little sticky enclosure doesn't last long, it stays slightly open. I'd recommend if you are wanting something cheap and easy to use. Oh, and these didn't sting my eyes.

Masks -Queen Helene - Avocado and Grapefruit Mask

No, no, no, no, NO!!!!! This stuff burns my skin! It is the worst stinging sensation ever. I've used it a few times and I couldn't wait to take it off. It also doesn't smell very good. It's not worth it. Gross. Went straight to the trash where it belongs.

Not impressed. Feels like you are using a sharpie marker on your eyes. It burns my eyes like heck. Not very pigmented (I bought it in black) At least it wasn't expensive.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Extra Volume Collagen mascara
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 1/6/2011 1:20:00 PM

A very average mascara in my opinion. It has a nice, full brush. I like the way it volumizes my lashes but it doesn't hold a curl for long. It wears off with time. It is easy to wash off and it's inexpensive. It's not my HG mascara, but it's not the worst I've tried. It needs more umpf!

Toners -Neutrogena - Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 12/31/2010 2:22:00 PM

I like this toner! In a nutshell I enjoy this toner for two main reasons. 1.) It is affordable for the amount that you get and 2.) it's effective. I bought this when I was breaking out bad from using different cosmetic products that didn't agree with my skin type. This toner helped to clear up my face without drying it out and without stinging like a mofo! Most toners with salicylic acid sting my sensitive skin like heck! Not this bad boy. The scent is light, cucumbery and it fades fast. I could do without that and the fact that it's green, but it's no major bother really. It's gentle enough to be used every day, but I stopped using like that and only bust it out when I feel like having a "deep cleansing" or if I'm breaking out. I'd repurchase and I hope they don't discontinue.

Blush -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Blush - Cloud Wine
rated 2 of 5
leoisillon 12/30/2010 9:16:00 AM

I despise this product. Firstly I hate the mousse consistency. Gross. The second thing I don't like is having to dip into a pot. Double Gross. This color is lovely in the pot. It's a wonderful, deep mauve color but it's UBER glittery! It is also highly pigmented so you won't need to apply much, but trust me you won't want to apply any after you see how oily, how bright, and how GLITTERY this stuff is. I tried giving it away to my sister but she didn't want it either. She tried a different Maybelline Mousse blush shade and said she broke out with it. I just trashed it. It's a piece of garbage and I don't recommend at all. Try again Maybelline.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
leoisillon 12/24/2010 8:03:00 AM

I didnt' like this product. It came with a cute little brush, but I didn't use it much. I used an angled eyeliner brush. I'm just not a huge fan of most gel liners. The staying power for the waterline is not very good and I find that this smudges like crazy. It's not the blackest black I've ever seen and it dries up amazingly too quick. I would buy the Wet N Wild one over this any day. Meh.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Complexion Brush
rated 2 of 5

I like this brush for dusting on loose powder. It works great for that and it washes well. I haven't experienced shedding yet like I did with the ELF flat top powder brush. What I don't like is that fact that it's cheaply made. You get what you pay for. The farrel is coming loose. I can feel it shake whenever I use it. I'm afraid one day I'll be using it and it will just pop off the handle, bristles and and all. I wouldn't buy again.

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 12/21/2010 1:58:00 PM

I love this eyebrow kit!! It's fabulous. It works like a dream. I mostly only use the brown wax to define my brows but I sometimes will use the powder too. The packaging is super sleek and it comes with a cute little double sided applicator. I use it sometimes, but I mostly use with an angled eyeliner brush. I love how cheap this is. I'd repurchase over and over again. If I had to complain about it, the only thing I'd say is to offer it in more color ranges (the powder). The powder is a bit light for me. I have dark black hair.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 12/21/2010 1:42:00 PM

I like the way this brush works. It's a great powder brush that is dirt cheap. It's easy to use and wash. Unfortunately for me this ended up being a classic case of you get what you pay for. After a few washes I had to throw it away because it started shedding like a mofo. I really liked it for powder, foundation, etc. It was great, but the shedding wasn't cool so it had to go. I probably won't repurchase this or any other brushes from ELF.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Palette - Greed [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
leoisillon 12/21/2010 8:57:00 AM

To me this palette is quite average in comparison to the other WNW color icon pallets out. I bought this one first because the colors were really unique looking in the package. The matte peach color is unlike anything I've seen in the drugstore and I was excited to try the gray color. Well, I don't reach for this palette that often at all because it's just not that good IMO. The silvery-gray color has very little pigmentation. I have to really pack it on to get even the slightest amount of color to show up. It looks like it could be a nice color if only it were more pigmented. It has a sort of duo chrome shimmer to it. The peach color was a bit chalky and it looks really bad on my skintone. It's a bit too yellow based I guess. The shimmery peach color is really nice, it's super pigmented. The highlight color (beige) is great and the two black colors are ok. I don't care for the shimmery black shade because it has too much fall out but both blacks are highly pigmented. I am going to use up the highlight color and probably as much of the silver as I can but I wouldn't repurchase.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Metallic Duo - Electrified
rated 4 of 5
leoisillon 12/21/2010 8:49:00 AM

One of my favorite e/s duos from the drugstore. The colors are awesome! Iove the soft golden color for all over the lids and then I use the darker brownish purple color in my crease. They look great together. Be careful when using the golden color. It's very pigmented and if you are going for a day look, it may be a bit too much if you pack on too much. I would use a light hand for day and pack it on for a nice & dramatic night look. Sometimes I just use the purple/brown color in my crease with other shadows. It's a great find. I would have never gone for this but I saw it on a blog and checked it out. So glad I did. Try it, you'll love it.
