my gosh! It's like a glitter bomb in a blush packaguing. It's purple in the pan, but it doesnt look purple in your skin. It just looks sheer white. Not for me, but it is pretty.

Blush -NARS - Exhibit A

This blush is absolutely pigmented. It's so crazy red in the pan, but if you pat your brush gently on the pan, that's all you need for your entire cheek. No shimmer or glitter. It's just super matte. Overall, a really good blush!

Highlighters -NARS - Orgasm Illuminator
rated 5 of 5

This is a really good product for those who can afford it. lol. I got a sample from my sephora and when I tried it on, it was really sheer on my wrists. It had minute shimmer to it that orgasm has. On my cheeks, it just illuminates my face. It makes me seem wide awake with a hint of glowy-ness that I love! I am oily, but this stays put. Layer this on and put orgasm blush on top and it stays on for most of the day! yey! i might just purchase a bottle of this one day. But the sample the sa gave me was a good amount and you really dont need much at all! Oh yeah, I use the mac 190 for this. I tried this today by mixing it with my sunblock. Amazing! It gently makes your face look brightened! Glow-y! Highly recommend!

Treatments -Lancome - Pure Focus T-Zone Mattifier
rated 3 of 5

If you use this one its' own without the need to put all your skin treatments (with sunblock anyone?), make up stays put. Sort of. Well... I wouldn't say this is an absolute must, it helps make up stick, it doesn't break me out, but it's not the life changing kind of product you would need. My pores look relatively the same after use so...

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - contractubex gel
rated 4 of 5

I cant believe no one's made a review for this product! This is a scar gel that is given by prescription by dermatologists for patients with acne scarring, or scars caused by burns, wounds, and surgery. It is a very strong product that should not be used if you have bleeding disorders because it has heparin in it which dissolves blood clots, which in turn helps with the "softening" of the scars. It also has allantoin which soothes the skin and promotes healing. Well, you have to use it 3-4 times a day, but even if you just use it twice a day (hey! I put make up on everyday and you expect me to remove it twice to put this thing on?!), it still fades the scars faster than any department store product (hint: cl qe EB).

Foundations -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Maximum Cover Camouflage Makeup For Face & Body
rated 1 of 5

I was trying this out on my wrists at macy's when the product started to itch my skin. It wasnt painful or anything, but it was enough to get my attention! I got makeup remover and cleaned the area gently only to find that it was red already! With more makeup remover (also by estee), it only itched some more! So I rushed to the Clinique counter and used their makeup removers since I've never broken out from their stuff. I removed more makeup on my wrist with the Clinique remover than the estee brand and the redness subsided! Can you imagine what could have happened if I used this crap on my face?! How dare you create something that causes this kind of reaction!? Avoid at all costs! Even the MAC foundation I used took a few days to cause a reaction, this one only took seconds!

Misc Beauty Tools -Bare Escentuals - Well-Cared For Brush Conditioning Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

Okay, so like everyone else in the make up world, I am too cheap to buy a brush cleanser from these high end brands and just buy baby shampoo to clean my brushes. The Johnsons baby shampoo used to be my staple and when I ran out, I just bought the CVS one thinking it would be the same. WRONG! CVS baby shampoo killed my brushes! They smelled bad, the hair started splaying even with my brush guard and the hair became rough and coarse. I found this on ebay a few days ago and won it for $4 with shipping. I was at the end of my rope! My precious MAC brushes (most of which I cant afford, given my situation) were destroyed! This shampoo totally revived them all! I mean, it says you only need a dime sized amount, but you dont even need half of that amount for the 187 brush! It still foams and removes all the gunk from the brush! My brushes are smooth and even the black hairs from my 187 are shiny! I dont really notice the smell so much (smells like laundry detergent?), but with what its' done, I'll be glad to fork out a few more $$! With baby shampoo, you need a LOT to get everything off, but with this, you dont need a lot. I think this will definitely last longer than baby shampoo!

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Matte Foundation spf 15
rated 2 of 5

For what it's worth, those of you who say this foundation has no coverage dont know how to use a kabuki brush! I mean, you can layer the necessary amount of coverage you need with this one. Okay, so coverage is buildable, the foundation is very light on your skin, it does not make you feel like you are using makeup, but it gave me tiny red bumps on my skin! sad.... I would have purchased an entire jar too!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 glide-on in Electric

Really impressed with these eyeliners! Okay, it did not stay put, it faded somewhat, but at least I dont look like a raccoon! huge plus! Expensive, so I doubt I'll be buying colors I dont use very often.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Trio TS37 - Shangri-La
rated 4 of 5
lehzheng 5/24/2011 10:03:00 PM

This is my favorite nyx trio! I've always loved sunset looks and this gives me exactly what I want. The pigmentation is not mac comparable, but it's just fine with me coz I dont think orange yellow and light pink will be easy to manipulate if you're not used to eyeshadow yet. Must try! Put nyx violet on the crease and it looks absolutely delish! minus 1 lippie because of low pigmentation and packaging. I think round palettes are a waste of space and plastic. They should come up with rectangular palettes. It looks simple, but it's economical.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Violet
rated 3 of 5
lehzheng 5/24/2011 9:59:00 PM

I dont know why they compare NYX to MAC as pigment wise, nyx is extremely sheer and needs to be packed on so many, many times for color to show. They are good for the price though. Do not expect comparable pigmentation to MAC or Urban Decay unless you pack it on! If I use a wet brush for this then I get better results. Not the best, but quite adequate for the price. You actually believe you get your money's worth with this one. Great color especially when you are looking for a sunset/twilight vibe. I tried MAC stars n rockets on by accident and I thought it looked so similar to this one. It is a really good dupe for stars n rockets if you are cheap.

Eye Primer -NYX - Eyeshadow Base in Pearl
rated 2 of 5
lehzheng 5/24/2011 9:56:00 PM

Got this at a sale at ULTA. It's not a bad product all in all, but there was a lot of glitter in this. I was looking for a pearlized finish. Great base for a cheap brand. Cannot even compare to UDPP, but on it's own, for people with normal lids, I'm guessing it works just fine as a primer.

Treatments -Clinique - Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
rated 4 of 5
lehzheng 5/24/2011 9:12:00 PM

Since I cannot afford to go get a facial here in my new environment, I have to settle for buying stuff from the department store. For reference, I've had all sorts of peels done to my face to lighten acne scars. This product cannot compete with those treatments on an even level. However, it does lighten scars somewhat. It is not a drastic change, but without it, the dark spots will take twice as thrice as long to fade so I suppose it is good. This is CRAZY expensive! Like $75 for 50mL bottle and $49.00 for 30 mL. If I were you, I'd buy the big bottle immediately even if you were just testing it out. I mean, stores like nordstrom, macy's and sephora have pretty good return policies, yes? And the site does say you need a good 12 weeks to notice the difference. I cant see if I'm halfway through the bottle yet. The SA's said you were gonna go through 3 30mL bottles in 12 weeks, which is why I got the 50mL instead. Let's see the results after 12 weeks, if I still dont see a difference, well... they did tell me I could return it at any time. You only need a pump to cover your face and neck and half a pump for your entire face. For those who have a lot of scars, you also need to pair this with some sort of sunscreen. It makes a big difference. Also, I think this product makes my face oily for some reason.

Concealers -Clinique - Acne Solutions Concealer
rated 3 of 5
lehzheng 5/24/2011 9:06:00 PM

This is an okay product. I dont get how this can be called a concealer when the product itself can be compared to their foundation line which I also have. I mean, sure, it covers a zit, but not those red ones. The coverage is just somewhat moderate and I'm sure this can cover scars a little better than the foundation can, BUT not newly formed zits which are a hassle. Even L'oreal's concealers are better quality. I only bought his because it did not break me out like L'oreals did. Will be returning for the advanced concealer and see how that works out.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Angled Eyeliner brush
rated 4 of 5
lehzheng 5/22/2011 11:40:00 PM

This is a good brush. I dont love it as I prefer angled brushes better. I suck at putting eyeliners on so I need to get all the help I can get. I cant compare this with other angled brushes, but I guess that's why I can say it works just fine. It picks a bit of color at a time. Somehow, using this to get a winged look is hard. Minus one lippie. After washing, the hair look kinda splayed. Now it is harder to do a winged look. THis is only good for making straight lines.
