Treatments -Jemma Kidd Makeup School - natural manicure and treatment

This product is excellent for a natural nail look. I was having yellowing on my nails and decided to give this a try. It is a 2 step process. You first apply a base coat which dried AMAZINGLY fast. Then you apply a sheer white polish which is supposed to have some lilac tones to it. Basically what happened was my nails looked natural but whiter. You could apply a second coat of the base but I didn't feel like it was needed. If you want natural looking whiter nails, this will do the trick. If, however, you are a polish fanatic and expect this product to add color, it does not. It's just a great option for someone who wants to have clean, whiter nails without going to a salon to have it done. Jemma has other polish duos which look beautiful and are designed one for fingers, one for toes. They looked lovely and I might be inclined to try those too.

Bronzers -Guerlain - poudre d' orient
rated 5 of 5

I don't know how widely available this product is. I stumbled across it via Neiman Marcus website. It is exquisite! The compact it comes in is huge, it has the most beautiful shimmer to it and complex etching on the surface. It says that it is a tan booster but I'm pretty white at the moment with no tan whatsoever to "boost" and it gave me a soft bronze glow. I intend to tan (thanks to the bottle variety) and will be anxious to see how this looks then. I've tried a number of bronzers and I think this one is truly unique.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Azuree Soleil Skinscent Atomizer
rated 5 of 5

Love this summery scent. Purchased the oil form, loved it and bought a back up. Then got my hands on the skinscent and loved it even more. Really reminds me of summer and I think I might use it during other times of the year when I want to remember the lazy and carefree days of summer when I am not working and enjoying a good book. The skinscent is not widely available in stores anymore and can not be gotten online except ebay.

Skincare - Body -Estee Lauder - The Body Oil Spray by Tom Ford for Estee Lauder Azuree Collection
rated 4 of 5
kareygirl 6/6/2007 1:16:00 PM

I got this product from an Estee Lauder outlet store for 23.00 and can not believe how much I love this summery scent. It reminds me of the beach, but not in the same way BB Beach does. It is an oil, so you'll want to spray it on your skin rather than clothing. It isn't really hot yet where I live but I would imagine the scent would last longer on slightly moister skin. It is for that reason I gave it 4 lippies out of 5. It's a huge bottle and I can see myself going back to the store for more before they're gone. LOVE IT!!!

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Sandy Gold
rated 5 of 5

I'm not sure why this hasn't gotten higher ratings. I love this color and the wearability is great. Mind you, I haven't tested it out in the hot, humid summer weather, but I think it should hold up fine. I own sand castle and sand dollar and like those as well

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Apricot Shimmerbrick Shimmer Brick Compact [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
kareygirl 4/25/2007 9:51:00 AM

This shimmerbrick looks amazing on my tanned skin. I recently started using self-tanner after having a body bronzing treatment at a spa and have loved the look since. I'm normally quite fair, but after self-tanning and the use of the light Bobbi bronzer and this shimmerbrick, I won't be pasty white anymore! I would repurchase this but 2 quick swipes on the brick is all I need and I think it will take awhile to use this up. I use french pink blush for that "pop" of color on the apples of my cheeks and everyone thinks I've spent the day in the sun.

Self Tanners -Fake Bake - The Face Self-Tanning Lotion
rated 4 of 5
kareygirl 4/3/2007 5:48:00 PM

I like the color this self tanner gives my face. I apply about every other night. I exfoliate about every 3 nights. The only thing I found is my face broke out a bit after using this and I can only attribute it to this product as I hadn't used any other new products. I self tan the rest of my body with a St. Tropez tanner because I heard the products not made for the face settle into the pores. I think this is true because the 2 times I used St. Tropez on my face I noticed dark pores on my chin and nose (areas where my pores are larger anyway)I would buy this again, however because I don't know of any face tanners that seem to perform as this one does.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion
rated 4 of 5
kareygirl 4/3/2007 5:43:00 PM

This product requires some practice with application. I tried this after having a bronzing treatment by St. Tropez at a spa. It helped to have my husband apply on my back. I think I could use the bronzing mist with the sponge on my back and be successful combining the 2 products. The really tricky places to get the application right were my hands and feet. I made the mistake of applying too heavily between my fingers and toes with a Q-tip and that was a big mistake. I will try a lighter hand the next time. Be warned about the "gross" greenish/black color of the color guide as you apply this. To apply, you don't want to over rub it...create a creamy consistency to the product and then leave it alone. The color guide washes off the next day to reveal a golden glow. I especially like the fact that I can wear more plunging necklines and not feel pasty anymore and that has made all the difference. Also, it is really a treat to have someone else apply the product (say at a spa) to get a base and then apply every 3 days or so at home. Do this at night because you'll look really scary after putting this on. I haven't had any trouble with staining. The St. Tropez self tan remover is a must after you apply this without using gloves. I was shocked at how dark my hands got applying it (no, I didn't use gloves) and was thankful to just use the self tan remover a couple of times to my palms and they were as good as new.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Bronzing Mist
rated 4 of 5
kareygirl 4/3/2007 5:33:00 PM

After having a St.Tropez bronzing treatment done at a spa, the lady recommended I use this to help the color last longer at home. It comes with a sponge applicator that helps for your face, back and other hard to reach places. While it did help to keep the color, there are some things to keep in mind: 1. exfoliation every 3 days and moisturizing everyday are KEY 2. this gives a light application when applied with the sponge (I plan to try it with my hands the next time I use it to see if it gives more coverage) 3. due to the light application, it is really hard to apply it so it will streak 4. you could benefit from applying it 2 nights in a row and then wait until your next exfoliation to apply again 5. I spray the sponge over the sink and then apply (usually with 3 squirts) The mess was minimal. 6. apply at night after exfoliating in the shower and shower in the morning to rinse off the color guide Practice will make perfect, IMO, and you need to experiment with application techniques to see what works best for you. As I said before, it really seems impossible to apply this wrong if you are covering all parts with care. I found the lotion to be a bit more tricky, especially on my hands and feet and I will rate that product as well.

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmerbrick in Gold
rated 4 of 5
kareygirl 12/29/2006 5:21:00 PM

This is a beautifully presented shimmerbrick. I guess the shimmer is just a bit too much for me to wear any place other than the individual shades as eye shadow. I might apply it ever so lightly to tops of cheeks but even then, I feel like I'm shiny. Maybe I am too old to pull this shimmer concept off.

Moisturizers -Naturopathica - creme cassis bio amino replenishment cream
rated 5 of 5
kareygirl 12/29/2006 5:08:00 PM

This is an excellent moisture cream that is pricey but smells awesome. It isn't widely available. I got mine through a spa. It sells for $85 for 1.7 oz. I mostly use as a night time moisture cream but it can be used day or night. It is to be used by rubbing between your fingers to warm before applying to the skin. I find it works well to pat it into the skin. A little seems to go a long way. I like the consistency and scent better than creme de la mer. It is more of a thick lotion than a cream.

Cleansers -Clinique - Liquid Facial Soap Extra Mild
rated 5 of 5
kareygirl 12/29/2006 4:59:00 PM

I prefer this formula of cleanser to the original bar soap. It didn't dry my skin out like nearly all soapy cleansers can do. It was more of a cream and had a mildly fresh scent.

Powder -GloMinerals - GloLoose Base
rated 5 of 5
kareygirl 12/29/2006 3:38:00 PM

A great mineral base which IMO is superior to Bare Minerals. I use a kabuki brush to apply and it buffs in as though it is my own skin. I use natural light but believe there could be a couple other shades that would work nicely for me as well. I started using this after I started getting chemical peels and it was gentle on my skin and hid any redness very well. I will definitely repurchase this in a slightly darker shade for summer.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Tutti Dolci-Creme Brulee Moisturizing Souffle
rated 5 of 5
kareygirl 12/29/2006 3:33:00 PM

This is a line that is discontinued at Bath and Body Works. I purchased mine on Ebay express and stocked up on 3 of these as well as the matching body wash and edt. If I want a scent that is comforting, I use this. The souffle is thick but not greasy. The scent seems to become less potent after you have opened and re-opened the jar. I literally went through one jar in about a month and by the time it was done, I felt the scent wasn't as strong. Perhaps it was because my nose became more accustomed to the fragrance as I learned often happens. At any rate, I've had my second jar open for at least a month and am not using it everyday as before. I still enjoy the scent and would like to try others. Does anyone know if this is going to be sold somewhere other than B&BW or is it that once the stock is out, Tutti Dolci is no longer making it?

Blush -Jane Iredale - Pure Pressed Blush
rated 5 of 5
kareygirl 12/29/2006 3:26:00 PM

I own dubonnet and it is a natural shade of rose/brown. It is great for every day. I often use it with a brighter shade on the apples of my cheeks (BB french pink of JI whisper for examples) and place this all over my cheek area. It blends nicely.
