Eye Shadow -Jane - Radiation in Intensity
rated 5 of 5
junglequeenjen 10/13/2006 12:31:00 PM

Intensity is from Jane's loose e/s radiation line. I received plutonium (light pink) in a swap, and I was hooked. I spent the next few months searching for the other shades. I have only had luck finding these at Meijer, and that was probably about 6-9 months ago. If you can find them, stock up!! They really are great quality products for the price. Intensity is a shimmery silver shadow with a definite purple-blue cast. Intensity seems to impart more of a "sheen" than a full-out "glitter" like some of the other radiation powders. I love it--it's great for the inner corner, as a highlight, or just on the lid for a nice sheen. Like I said, these can be hard to find..if you can find them, I would most definitely recommend them.

Blush -mark - Tint, Tint Lip and Cheek Gel - Nectar
rated 5 of 5
junglequeenjen 10/13/2006 12:21:00 PM

I love this product! It's so portable..I always bring it with me when I travel. I never would have imagined this color looking good on me. In the package, it looks like a golden coppery color. If I apply about half a pump, it gives me a really nice glow with a little bit of a rosy golden flush. The tube seems small, but it has lasted me forever. My only complaint (and I suppose this is true for all products in pumps) is that sometimes you get that little dried chunk of product that comes out when your first pump it. Ick. But, really, this is so cheap and so fun--you must try it.

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA

I'm on the fence about this one. First of all, the packaging is adorable. Second, there is no scent like Dandelion to make my face break out. I like that there is no shimmer, and it looks natural when I have a tan. This product only works on me, though, for about 3 months out of the year--I think my complexion is too light for it. In the fall I can get away with using a tiny, tiny amount of product, but it looks ridiculous and muddy when I turn pale in the winter.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Woodwinked - veluxe pearl
rated 5 of 5
junglequeenjen 10/13/2006 12:08:00 PM

This eyeshadow was everything I hoped it would be. You MUST try it..the color is amazing, the shimmer and shine is divine, the texture is silky, and it stays put all day. I am quite pale with black hair, and I find that this e/s looks better on me in the summer than in the winter. I would imagine that it looks great on almost anyone.

Skincare - Body -Michael Kors - Leg shine
rated 1 of 5
junglequeenjen 10/13/2006 12:03:00 PM

This product was odd. In theory, it's a great product--a slightly perfumed, beautiful golden product that leaves a sheen to make your skin glow. And yes, it is perfumed and looks quite gold in the package. Unfortunately, the scent is overpowering, the golden sheen somehow remains on the product itself and not your skin, and your legs end up looking dry and waxy. This product just doesn't work. Please, save your money.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Silk Creme Foundation
rated 3 of 5
junglequeenjen 10/12/2006 2:56:00 PM

I wore this foundation for my wedding. I agree with some of the reviewers below--a few more shades in to choose from would be nice. This product feels nice on the face, but I felt really oily after a period of time. My face is never really shiny, so this seems strange. I have sensitive skin, and this product also made my face break out. I gave it 3 lippies because it does have nice coverage and it looks nice..just make sure you blot or powder, and shy away if you have sensitive skin. I could see how it could really work for some people, though.

Tinted Moisturizer -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20
rated 5 of 5
junglequeenjen 10/12/2006 2:51:00 PM

My HG tinted moisturizer. I wear it every single day as a light foundation, and I couldn't be happier with this product. It's natural looking and it blends wonderfully into my skin..I wear the fair to light shade as an NC20. It seems to be a little expensive for a drugstore product, but a container of this lasts me close to six months. I think I'll cry if this ever gets discontinued.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Antique Gold #17
rated 5 of 5
junglequeenjen 2/6/2006 9:50:00 PM

I've seen this before at CVS, and I've always thought to myself that it looked like quite possibly the most horrible, disgusting greenish-brown color I've ever seen. After reading the reviews, I gave in and bought it, and of course...it's fabulous. It's silky and glides right on my lids, and there's a bit of shimmer, but not too over-the-top. I have brown eyes, and it really looks great in the crease. All of these reviewers can't be wrong...you must try it!

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Wetslicks Crystals in Luxe
rated 4 of 5
junglequeenjen 12/8/2005 1:33:00 AM

Luxe is part of the wetslicks crystals line. It's a rich berry burgundy shade with silver shimmer. I really enjoy the vanilla scent and the consistency, much like the regular wetslicks, but I think the increased shimmer in the "crystals" line leads to a little bit of a gritty feel on the lips. Still, it's a pretty shade and it's dramatic and sparkly.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Wetslicks - Orchid Aura
rated 5 of 5

Orchid Aura (not orchid mist) is a really pretty, cool, lavender-mauvey gloss. I love the vanilla scent, and I love that wetslicks are never goopy or sticky on me. I think this shade would probably work best on cool-toned ladies.

Lip Gloss -Almay - WhippedGloss Pinched Pink
rated 4 of 5
junglequeenjen 12/8/2005 1:24:00 AM

You know, it's funny..when I first bought this gloss I was horrified by the minty smell. I loved the way it looked and I loved the sparkle, but the horrific chemical minty smell ruined it for me. I don't know what happened--the stars aligned, I woke up on the other side of the bed, I don't know--but I tried it again a month or so later and the smell wasn't so offensive. I kind of like the tingly feeling after you put this gloss on now. I'd almost say I LOVE the smell now. Pinched pink is gorgeous--it's a fairly light cool pink with tiny red, pink, and silver shimmer. I love the brush applicator, and I'd definitely repurchase.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Smoothwear Liptints in Rose Petal
rated 4 of 5
junglequeenjen 12/8/2005 1:19:00 AM

I'll admit it--I'm a lipgloss junkie. When a new type comes out, I have to try it. Rose petal looked to be one of the darkest of these new liptints, and it looked like it would be flattering on me. It's sort of a mauvey rose with tiny shimmer. It's pretty sheer, but sometimes I think a subtle YLBB gloss is great to have. The applicator tip is slanted (woohoo!) and I really have no complaints whatsoever. Great gloss! I'll probably try it in a few more shades.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
rated 1 of 5

I had high hopes for this curler--it did nothing, absolutely nothing for me. It was pricey and I was more than happy to swap it away. :)

Blush -Trucco - Couture Trio Blush
rated 5 of 5
junglequeenjen 12/8/2005 1:08:00 AM

Agreed--this is definitely more of a highlighter than a blush. I think this highlighter would definitely flatter anyone. I use it as either a typical highlighter (on the browbone, cheekbones, etc), or dust a very light layer all over my face with a big fluffy brush when i want a dewy look. One caution--be careful not to apply too much. It's pretty buildable and can quickly go from dewy to garish. :)

Blush -Trucco - Shy One
rated 5 of 5
junglequeenjen 12/8/2005 1:02:00 AM

I LOVE this blush! Wow..this is one of the silkiest, softest blushes I've ever used. The powder feels like silk and just glides on. It's actually called "So Shy", and it's a really light, matte, cool pink. I'm fairly light (NC20) and this gives just the right amount of flush on the apples. Definitely an HG-worthy blush. :)
