Blush -E.L.F. - Studio Blush Mellow Mauve
jskellis 5/31/2012 5:52:00 PM
Traded elf mineral blush in joy for this in a swap. I ended up having the same problem I did with joy: while it looks like a cool pink (almost violet!) In the pan, it looks like a neon orange-pink rash on the skin. ELF's warm blushes are great, but I've yet to find a good cool or neutral one that doesn't go on orange.

Blush -L'Oreal - True Match Superblendable Blush in Baby Blossom
jskellis 5/29/2012 8:48:00 PM
I love the color, I bought this as a dupe to my hg, benefit's dandelion. Unfortunately the color fades very quickly, and despite its name, it does not blend all too well. I'd buy this again if I could figure out how to make it last!

Great DS concealer my favorite at the moment. Pros: - silky, creamy consistency. Not too liquid, not too sticky. - great for pale skin. - longevity. - blends beautifully. - great for discoloration. - covers dark circles. Cons: - not as great at covering blemishes. So yeah, great for everything minus blemishes. That is without liquid foundation. I think if used onn top of foundation it would be better for that.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Power
jskellis 5/24/2012 8:52:00 PM
It lengthens and separates really well and gives a fluttery effect. My bottom lashes look great and it doesn't flake at all. I think the brush has a lot to do with it, it's small and makes application a snap. It separates beautifully for being a fiber brush as I've usually found much much better separation in plastic brushes. It doesn't lengthen or volumize quite as much as I'd like though. However, my mom loves this stuff though and swears by it. It's the best tubing mascara I've used and I like how easily it washes off.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Clean Makeup Oil Control
jskellis 5/22/2012 9:00:00 PM
This is actually a pretty good product for me and serves me well when I need it, so despite being a 3 overall, I would buy again if I ran out . But it definitely does not do what it claims. First, it is more of a TM than a foundation. I was actually looking for something very light so I'm pleased with this. Secondly, there is no oil control involved. Used alone, I am oilier than the persian gulf. Used with oil control products, it's just fine. But I do like this a lot when my acne starts to act up (it gets mildly to moderately bad) and I need some light coverage beyond my usual pressed powders. If you need heavy coverage or oil control, I'd look elsewhere. But if you need a light layer of color, this is great. It's also really good for pale skin tones and doesn't seem to oxidize very much at all.

Concealers -Cover Girl - fresh complexion concealer
jskellis 5/18/2012 3:32:00 PM
Pros: Good for covering my odd patched of discoloration. Liquid. Slightly yellow. Palest shade is fair enough for my very pale skin. Cheap! Cons: Doesn't cover blemishes well. Doesn't last very long. I will keep looking for a better concealer but if I find one I'll probably keep this in my travel bag for touchups.

Fragrances -Lancome - Miracle
jskellis 5/7/2012 8:22:00 PM
I adore lancome fragrances, but this one is a terrible failure for lancome. It has none of the character, none of the je ne sais quoi that most of the house's fragrances hold. It's just a flowery, soapy, bland scent for me.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - L'Imperatrice Eau de Toilette
jskellis 5/7/2012 8:17:00 PM
My favorite "clean" scent. It is sweet and floral, slightly gourmand with a bit of vanilla in the base. It only comes in EdT but the sillage and longevity is AMAZING. Normally I would never buy anything in the EdT but this is high quality and very pleasant smelling.

Fragrances -Burberry - Brit
jskellis 5/5/2012 8:12:00 PM
What I would call a modern, updated oriental. There is a lot of spice, but there's some sweetness and a bit of vanilla that makes it smell delicious and not cloying like many of the classic orientals. It dries down to a beautiful woody scent. I would wear this in the edp for sure- if it wasn't so common. By far this is the best burberry fragrance.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cococare Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

Used nearly a whole tube and my lips are still dry and flaky. It helps in the short term, but there are no long-term results at all.

Blush -E.L.F. - Essentials blush with brush - Innocence
jskellis 4/30/2012 8:50:00 PM
IMPORTANT! This reviews this product as a blush BUT it is for the palest of the pale. PROS: -If built up, the color is very close to benefit's dandelion -only $2 -blends very well, not chalky at all -doesn't break me out CONS -poor pigmentation, requires several layers on very fair skin -fades a bit by the end of the day I think this should only be bought as a blush by very pale people. But it might also be nice as an overall face powder or highlighter by those with darker skin tones. I made a new review for this because the old elf essential blush line dissappeared and I was never able to try Innocence in the original. It might be the exact same formula, but it might be different, either way the old version is no longer available for purchase.

Mascara -Revlon - Photoready 3D Volume
jskellis 4/26/2012 3:35:00 PM
Very good dupe for they're real by benefit. The brush is awesome and the formula gives no-clump length and volume. For sure this is among the very best DS mascara. One star off for minimal flaking.

Mascara -Sephora - Volume Mascara
jskellis 4/26/2012 3:13:00 PM
Terrible disappointment. Clumpy, makes lashes tick together, doesn't hold a curl and makes the lashes stick together even more than it already does if you curl it afterwards. Flakes, smudges, no length, SOME volume. The tester in the store seemed okay so I'm still working at this one, maybe it will be better when the formula dries down a little? I'm also going to try with a different brush. But to be honest with myself, $7 more and I could have bought the AWESOME They're Real by Benefit.

Sunscreen -Peter Thomas Roth - Instant Mineral SPF 45 (Sephora exclusive)
jskellis 4/24/2012 3:39:00 PM
I seldom rate products so low, but this one is a real fail. The powder is incredibly orange and dark, I looked like an oompah loompah. The brush is horribly scratchy, I've had better DS brushes. The brush also dispenses very little product, and very unevenly. It's also one oz of product for what, around 40 dollars? I've yet to find a good spf powder, but the best so far has been the BE spf 25 mineral veil, but it's too pink for me.

Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Blush 831E Pearlescent Pink
jskellis 4/22/2012 3:47:00 AM
This is my travel blush, for days when I have to do my makeup on the bus. I originally bought it because it was on sale for $1 and the packaging is super slim. But I will buy it again for the color. It's pink with a little bit of peach and has a very subtle gold shimmer. As a warning, it is HIGHLY pigmented, so use a light hand, but it does last all day. One of the best drugstore brand blushes.
