Eye Shadow -Sephora - Fame and Fortune (43)
jdmcgi2 5/2/2012 3:03:00 PM
Fame and Fortune eye shadow is described as a light green with silver glitter. It definitely is glittery because it gets all over the place. I probably should give this eye shadow a 1 because the glitter went everywhere except for on my eyes where it belonged! Within 2 minutes of applying it was all over my cheeks and by the end of the day it was everywhere. The color is pretty but I can't stand the glitter. I'm glad I only had this as a sample. I think shimmermoss by MAC is similar but not as green and it doesn't have glitter just shimmer so it works better for me.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shroom
jdmcgi2 5/1/2012 9:14:00 PM
I've had shroom for a while now and I have to say that I don't use it very often. It makes my eyelids look blah and washes me out...I have no idea why because everyone else seems to love it. It applies kind of sheer and can look scaley on my skin if not blended in. Shroom looks like a pearl beige in the pan and shimmery white when swatched but for some reason on my eyes it pulls greyish white and just doesn't flatter me. I have other highlight and eye shadows I like better so I wouldn't repurchase.

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
jdmcgi2 4/30/2012 11:33:00 PM
This foundation gives medium coverage with a dewy glow. I liked the finish because it made my skin look flawless and coverd better than my MUFE which at the time I had been using 123 and therefore used the shade honey in cliniques even better foundation (I was tan at the time) I will say that at times it did oxidize a little but nothing horrible. I would have given this product a 5 but I found out I am allergice to this. I wish I didn't have an allergic reaction because it is an amazing foundation. I tried it last summer and used it religiously for 2 months and I can honestly say that after the first month I saw a big improvement in my skin and by the end of the second month my skin looked better than it had in years....it erased all of my old acne marks, faded dark spots, and redness was gone. I didn't even mind going without foundation sometimes which is unbelievable becuase I have bad skin. It never broke me out like other reviewers have said however, my skin eventually started to itch on my face and then my hair started to thin so I stopped using everything trying to figure out what I was allergic to....several months later I tried this foundation again and sure enough after several days of using it the intense itching on my scalp and face returned and stopped after several days when I stopped using this foundation. Such a shame because I really liked it.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Painkiller
jdmcgi2 4/30/2012 8:30:00 PM
This color is exactly the same blue as a robin's egg! Personally, think it is very hard to find a blue this exact same color...many blues are too light or turqouise. Looks amazing on and is very vibrant and pigmented. It is kind of shimmery. Looks great with brown eyes! I got this shade in the urban decay pony palette but if they put this in their regular line I would repurchse when I run out.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Mildew eye shadow
jdmcgi2 4/29/2012 9:45:00 PM
Mildew is such a great color to own because its a nice basic green color but it isn't flat. It's a shimmery green mossy golden color that is very pigmented and soft. I love to pair it with golds and browns such as urban decay's smog and a gold color I have from MAC. It looks good with brown eyes too.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Metallic Duo - Shocked
jdmcgi2 4/28/2012 10:26:00 PM
I love this eye shadow. Shocked duo has 2 colors. The first is a metallic shimmery champagne color that has some yellow to it....I suppose you could call it a very light shimmery gold champagne. It looks more yellow in the pan than it apples I think. The shade reminds me a little of stila's kitten but with yellow tones instead. The second color is a metallic olive green similar to MAC sumptuous olive except this shade has less brown to it and more grey/green I think...it's hard to pin point exactly what it is. Both colors are not as pigmented as MAC, Stila, or urban decay but they come pretty close for drugstore. I love the way they look both seperate and together...I put the gold champagne color on my lids and the olive green color in the crease. The colors blend nicely together...I will definitly repurchase when I run out as long as I can find it on the shelves.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Chamomile
jdmcgi2 4/27/2012 6:13:00 PM
Chamomile is perfect to use by itself on my eyelid with kitten as a highlight and simple black eye liner with mascara. It seems like most cream shades are too white or frosty or have too much orange in them but Chamomile has a bit of yellow and a nice matte finish. If I wear vanilla or shroom in any other way other than a highlight people tend to ask me if I am tired but when I use chamomile they don't so it must have something to do with my skin tones. I wear NC20 in MAC and MUFE 118 when more pale and MUFE 123 when tan. This may not be the eye shadow for some people since there isn't much to it and it can blend into skin. It does blend nicely and smooth looks good with soba eye shadow as well. If they repromote and I need more I would buy it again.

Blush -NARS - Blush Duo in Hungry Heart
jdmcgi2 4/24/2012 8:18:00 PM
I have the gold ivory side of the hungry heart duo and I have to say it is a beautiful golden color and is of high quality but it's basically just finely milled glitter. I like to use it at night on my shoulders or decolletage area but thats it. The glitter only shows up when the light hits it a certain way which is good or bad depending on what you want. I'm not a huge fan of using glitter on my face unless it's a glitter eye liner or something but for the body it's ok....I think if this would have included more of a shimmer or even tinier glitter I would have liked it better.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Melt My Heart
jdmcgi2 4/24/2012 7:32:00 PM
Melt My Heart is a veluxe pearl eye shadow that came in the 6 Reelers & Rockers eye shadow palette that was part of the Tartan Tale Collection. It is a light silvery metallic color. I liked it because it doesn't turn blue on me and I can use it to brighten up my eye. I like to use it close to the lash line. I don't use silver much but if I used it all up and it was repromoted I would likely purchase it again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Antiqued (Veluxe Pearl)
jdmcgi2 4/22/2012 1:27:00 PM
Dirty penny...that is the color of this eye shadow. It is warm, bronze, and has some red tones to it. It is too warm for me to use it all over my eyelid but I like to use it in my crease with other eye shadows. I have a hard time using this eye shadow alone...but it works well to warm up darker brown or neutral looks that call for a little kick or metallic as well so it serves it's purpose so I guess I would buy it again..

Eye Shadow -MAC - Crown & Sceptre
jdmcgi2 4/22/2012 1:19:00 PM
Crown & Sceptre is a veluxe pearl eye shadow that was part of tartan tale collection in the 6 reelers & rockers palette. It is very pigmented and like other veluxe pearls it has a nice texture. It is extremely similar to Antiqued but a little lighter and brighter...more metallic. It's a bronze color that looks identical to a penny. When swatched it looks like my finger tip had a penny melted on it!. Crown & sceptre is a newer shinier penny and antiqued eye shadow from mac is a dirty older penny color if that makes sense. Both bronze shades are a little warm for my skintone so I tend to only use them sparingly in the crease. Antiqued and Crown & Sceptre are close enough to where you probably wouldn't need both but I would buy crown & sceptre if I happened to be out of antiqued because I have realized I like it just a hair better. Mac would have to repromote it for it to be available again so who knows if that will ever happen but it is a cool shade.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Telescopic Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
jdmcgi2 4/22/2012 12:57:00 PM
I have major problems getting eyeliner to stay on my eyes. This eyeliner will stay on my upper lash line all day! It is very black in color and it stays that way until you take it off. I find that it is similar to Lancome's artist liquid eyeliner except it is a little thicker in formula and lasts longer...the applicator applies a slightly thicker line as well. I used this everyday for about 4 months and my artist eyeliner for special occasions because it does apply and look a little better due to quality. I would have given it a 4 because it isn't perfect...I still haven't found a product that will stay on my lower lashline or waterline without fading or smudging and I've tried quite a few eyeliners...everything from revlon colorstay to urban decay 24/7 liners. But this product still gets a 3 because after 3 to 4 months the formula went bad, started to smell and turned blue. You also have to be careful to get this off your lashes (and it is hard to do without an amazing oil cleanser) or it will irritate your eyes. I wish I could put that I maybe or might buy this product again because right now I'm going to keep looking for something that works as good but is not irritating and product that doesn't go bad as quickly. If I can't find something else then I might try it again but for now I will not buy again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Gaelic Gold
jdmcgi2 4/22/2012 12:30:00 PM
Gaelic Gold was a limited edition eye shadow found in the 6 Reelers & Rockers eye shadow palette as part of the tartan tale collection. I hope they repromote this sometime because I love it! It is a dirty gold color that looks amazing on the eyes. It is somewhat shimmery and metallic. I could wear this all by itself with black eyeliner and it would look great but I sometimes add a bronze, brown, or a black color in the crease. It's a veluxe pearl so the texture and blendability is great. It was very pigmented and creamy. It's neutral enough for me to wear during the day and isn't an over the top gold....not bright yellow. If they ever bring this one back I will buy this and a back up again for sure!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Cool Incantation
jdmcgi2 4/19/2012 11:10:00 PM
Cool Incantation is a limited edition frost eye shadow that came in the 6 mystic cool eye shadow palette that came out with the magic, mirth & mischief collection for 2009. The color is a goldish cream or white that is frosty and shimmery. It blends well and gives a pretty highlighted look for the eye lid. It is too yellow for me personally to use as a brow highlight but it could be used as that. I like to use it on my eye lid with something else in the crease such as woodwinked or sumptuous olive. I almost didn't like this color because at first I was trying to use it with cool colors .....I have no idea why they put this shade in a cool eye palette because it looks so much better with warmer shades in my opinion, warm to neutral. It gives the nicest light yellow metalic gold glow to my eyes that is still somewhat subtle. I think I will repurchase if they repromote it again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Rose Potion
jdmcgi2 4/16/2012 10:44:00 PM
Rose Potion is a limited edition eye shadow that came in the 6 mystic cool eye shadow palette from mac in 2009. It's a shimmery pink rose color with a veluxe pearl finish but I didn't find it to be as pigmented as some of the other vp finishes I have used. This was a decent shade but not something I use often at all. I have to add brown or another color to it in order to make it work with my skin coloring most of the time. It can give that allergy or sick look if not careful. It kind of reminds me of a rosier pink venus without the glitter once it is swatched or on the eye lid. It looks darker in the pan than on skin.
