Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Wash Off Instant Glow Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5
italiana800 6/3/2012 1:07:00 PM

I tried this on my arm while I was looking around in Sephora. This doesn't leave any type of bronzing effect/give any color, this is more of a shimmery lotion that helps to accent certain areas of the body. This works well to highlight areas like shoulders, chest, arms, & legs. This basically just gives a little extra something to your skin & adds a healthy glow. I did like this for what it is, but I don't think I would actually buy this for the high price tag. I just don't think a basic shimmery lotion is worth that much money. I can find shimmery lotions that do the same thing at a fraction of the cost. Overall, this still adds a nice touch.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - arm and hammer-spinbrush

I love this toothbrush! This cleans way, way better than a manual toothbrush. I got a very deep clean, & it really did feel like I just came back from the dentist! It took me less than half the time from when I used a manual toothbrush, which was another plus. I also LOVE the fact this is rechargable & comes with a plug in charger. That's honestly one of the reasons why I chose to buy this one over the others. All you have to do is wipe the brush clean & rinse off the bristles after each use. When the bristles start to wear out, you can buy replaceable ones for pretty cheap. I will definitely continue to use this, & buy this. I actually have enjoyed brushing my teeth with this so much, that I brushed my teeth with it 3 times today. I would highly reccommend this. The price wasn't too bad either, only about $18 at Walmart.

Conditioner -Suave - Keratin Infusion Smoothing Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
italiana800 6/1/2012 1:10:00 AM

I actually liked this shampoo/conditioner. Not bad at all. At only about $2 a bottle, it's really not that much of a loss if you don't end up liking this anyways. The price is probably the main reason why I'm not critiquing this shampoo/conditioner harshly. Honestly, I've used way more expensive high end shampoos/conditioners that didn't even perform as well as this line. This still isn't on the HG level for me, but it's perfectly fine to be in my collection for rotating out my shampoos/conditioners. This made my hair soft, shiny, frizz free, & smooth. I have thick hair, but this does weigh your hair down a little bit. So, if you have fine hair & your hair being weighed down is something you're worried about, this may weigh it down. Other than that, this is pretty good stuff. I also want to comment on the smell that many people are complaining about. This doesn't smell bad at all, it actually smells pretty good to me. The smell does kind of linger around for a while, if that's something that would bother you. This line has been compared to being as good as the Kerstase line, which I can't really comment on since I've never used Kerastase. My guess would be this probably is not comparable to Kerastase, just for the fact that I don't think (realisticly) that a $2 shampoo/conditioner would be comparable to a $50 one. Overall, I think this is worth trying out, not too much to lose if you don't like it.

Loose Powders -Laura Mercier - Invisible Loose Setting Powder
rated 1 of 5
italiana800 5/29/2012 2:08:00 PM

In general, I'm not a fan of loose powders, (they usually make you look cakey, no matter what they may claim). I usually use Mac Blot, which is pretty much HG for me so far. Needless to say, this is almost the exact same thing as Make Up Forever's HD loose powder...which I absoloutley hate. Which is why I should've known better than to buy this one, my bad. This powder barely controls oil, doesn't leave a natural finish, makes you look cakey, & leaves a white cast (so yes, this changes the color of your make up). This also felt very itchy, just like the one from MUFE. I didn't use this long enough to know if this would've irritated my skin in any way. This is basically the same thing as baby powder & contains the same main ingredient. I feel dumb because the ingredients are usually the first thing I look at before I buy a product, & If I would've read them...I would've saved myself a hassle. Honestly, I was originially going to buy the translucent loose setting powder from Laura Mercier, but somehow one of the Sales Associates talked me into buying this one. I don't know why I listened. Take my advice, don't buy this. If you tried the MUFE version, & didn't like it...then definitely don't buy this. I'm actually going to return this today, I'm still not sure if I will end up trying the one I was originally going to buy. The only good thing I will say about this product is that the packaging was way better than MUFE'S. This one has a shield that you can easily slide open & shut, where the sifter is. Which makes this container easier to use & way less of a mess than with MUFE'S version. I also want to comment on the price. The stuff from this line is way overpriced for what it is. This was $36....rip off.

Shampoo -Suave - Daily Clarifying Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 5/29/2012 1:22:00 PM

These are my favorite types of products, products that feel like I've just discovered hidden treasure. At about $2, this clarifying shampoo has been the best of the best clarifying shampoos that I've ever used. I've used all the high end brands like the one from Paul Mitchell (tea tree), Matrix Biolage, Pureology, & more. This shampoo is AMAZING. Suave is pretty much amazing. Wow, what a steal this was. This got rid of all the build up in my hair from styling products, managed to deep clean my scalp very well, not strip away a bunch of color from my hair, & best of all.....THIS DID NOT DRY OUT MY HAIR...at all! This also smells great, which is another plus. There is just no possible way you can go wrong for $2. There are barely any packages of gum you can buy for less than $2. Yet, this $2 shampoo did miracles for me....something I've definitely spent more money on with high end products to get terrible results. This shampoo truly is High End...without the high end pricetag, which makes this worth so much more! I know I'm probably over exaggerating over a shampoo, but I just can't believe I found this. A++ to Suave for such a great product! The only thing I will say is I still wouldn't use this as an everyday shampoo, only occassionally when you feel your hair has lots of build up in it & needs this.

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 5/29/2012 1:05:00 PM

This oil is AMAZING! I love it. Naturally, I have thick & curly/wavy hair that I pretty much always straighten. So, good products/heat protectants are vital for my hair to stay healthy. I've always used oils/serums/creams/sprays (pretty much everything you can think of) to protect my hair. This oil is definitely one of my top favorites. I love the way this smells, how well it moisturizes/nourishes my hair, leaves my hair silky & smooth, gets rid of frizz, makes my hair shiny & healthy, does not weigh my hair down at all, & instantly detangles! This oil is an all in one. It's expensive, about $41. But, you only need literally 1-2 drops. & I love the fact that this comes with a normal twist off cap if you want to pour the oil out, & it also comes with an insertable pump that you can use as well. That was a very good move, in my opinion. Very smart way of packaging. I will definitely buy this again. The only thing I will say is that this comes in a heavy glass jar, so just be careful not to drop it. I also recently traveled with this, & the bottle stayed in place without any oil spilling out of the jar. So, this is travel proof! Perfection. FYI: I've also tried this oil (Argan oil) in many different brands, & the Moroccan Oil brand has been the one that I've had the most luck with overall. So, if you're planning on buying this, I would strongly reccommend buying from this brand, not a duplicate.

Conditioner -Alterna - Bamboo smooth anti frizz
rated 4 of 5
italiana800 5/24/2012 11:52:00 PM

I finally gave in to buying this shampoo/conditioner. I will start off by saying I do not like the smell of this shampoo at all. Something about the smell makes me nauseous, it's gross. The conditoner on the other hand, smells a lot better & I can tolerate it. This has not dried my hair out so far, & this did leave my hair really smooth, with almost no frizz in sight. This did not eliminate 100% of the frizz, but it did make a lot of it less noticeable. This shampoo/conditioner is very expensive, especially for the amount you get. I have very thick, naturally curly hair....so I'll be done with this bottle in 3 weeks tops. Which, really doesn't justify the price of this. So overall, I'm not sure if I would buy this again. This did work well, but it wasn't anything amazing. Definitely not HG material. I still gave this a rating of 4 out of 5, because the product itself was pretty good. I just know I can find something that's just as good as this shampoo/conditioner, for way less that comes with a way higher amount of product.

I finally gave in to buying this shampoo, with the matching conditioner. I will start off by saying I do not like the smell of this shampoo at all. Something about the smell makes me nauseous, it's gross. The conditoner on the other hand, smells a lot better & I can tolerate it. Besides that, this shampoo felt very nice on my hair & it gently, but effectively cleaned my scalp & hair very well. I think this shampoo removed a lot of the build up from hair products. This has not dried my hair out so far, & this did leave my hair really smooth, with almost no frizz in sight. This did not eliminate 100% of the frizz, but it did make a lot of it less noticeable. Hair -It's a 10 - MIRACLE STYLING SERUM
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 5/23/2012 12:02:00 PM

I really like this serum. It smells amazing, controls frizz, moisturizes, nourishes, & makes my hair soft, shiny, & silky, & helps with heat protection. My boyfriend loves the way my hair smells when I use this & he always comments on it. This also doesn't contain alcohol (which dries hair out). I like the fact that the cap locks. I recently travelled, & when I took this out of my suitcase the bottle was leaking. I had the cap locked, so I'm still not sure where it leaked from. Just be aware of that. I've used this both in damp hair, & dry. I think this serum works better when my hair is dry, & especially after straightening. This is around $18, but this will last forever because you only need very little. I will definitely buy again.

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Black Out Mascara
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 5/23/2012 1:21:00 AM

This is my HG mascara, of all time. It gives incredible added length, dries quickly, amazing blackness/intense color, this holds a curl very well, DOES NOT FLAKE (which is the most amazing part about this). The only thing I will say, is that this mascara tends to clump easily if you do not apply it carefully. I love how big the bottle is & the brush. I love the effect this gives, very dramatic. But, you have to be very careful with this so it defines your lashes, instead of clumping them together. This mascara is expensive (around $30), but I think this mascara is worth every penny. Overall, IF you are careful....you will get a great effect/result. & of course I will continue to buy this mascara! I've tried so many & none have came close to this one!

Moisturizers -Boscia - Revitalizing Black Hydration Gel
rated 4 of 5
italiana800 5/15/2012 2:13:00 PM

I got this as a sample from Sephora. This is the first moisturizer I've used that has a gel consistency. I applied this at night before bed after I washed my face. It comes out in a black, glittery gel. Once you rub it into your face, it turns clear & it starts cooling/tingling your face. It did suprisingly hydrate my skin, but it didn't do anything amazing that I noticed. I also looked up how much this retails for, & it's very expensive. Especially for something that was just okay, nothing special. I still gave this a 4 out of 5 rating, because this was invigorating, didn't break me out or cause any reactions, & it did hydrate my face. But, nothing I haven't experienced with any of the other moisturizers I've ever used that are half the price or less. I'm not cheap at all when it comes to beauty products, hair products, or anything for that matter. I will/do spend lots of money on products, but only if they're worth the money. This simply is not worth the high price tag. When it comes down to it, this does work well as a moisturizer, but doesn't do anything that other less expensive moisturizers don't do.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 5/15/2012 1:59:00 PM

I love this powder! This is my new HG. This powder controls oil better than anything else I've ever tried. The medium-dark matched my skin tone the best. I tested the oil control/lasting power of my makeup by wearing this to work from morning until night. It was AMAZING. My face stayed oil free for pretty much the whole day (about 8 hours) without any touch ups. After about 8 hours, very little shine was glowing through. But, it wasn't a nasty oily shine, it was more like a nice, natural dewyness...which I don't mind at all & I actually prefer it. This even made my blush last a lot longer too. I'm impressed. This did NOT make me look orange either, which is a MAJOR deal breaker for me. The only thing I will say is that this will make you look cakey if you use too much, which can easily be done without realizing at first. I would also reccommend that you go one color up than usual. I bought this in the color Medium the first time, & it ended up being way too light for my skin, so I had to exchange it for Medium-Dark. So, this isn't completely translucent. Even though this is expensive, ($23 to be exact), I will still keep buying this. This powder is perfect for me. I also used Matte FX by Cover FX, & I like this one way better. The sponge this comes with isn't the best way to apply this. A brush works way better, & makes my face look airbrushed in conjuction with this powder. Highly Reccommend.

Polishes -Revlon - Ruby Lounge #273
rated 5 of 5
italiana800 5/15/2012 12:03:00 PM

This is literally the most absoloutley gorgeous red I've ever encountered. This is so classy & elegant, yet sexy all at the same time. It's so hard to find that nowadays. This color screams "Hollywood Movie Stars from the 1950's-1960's." This is like Marilyn Monroe Glamour. It's such a shame that this color was discontinued a while back. I really wish Revlon would bring this back. Revlon definitely hit the right spot with this one. This is one of those nail polishes that once you have it, you never want to let this one go.

Polishes -OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark
rated 4 of 5
italiana800 5/15/2012 11:42:00 AM

I really like this color. The darkest I usually wear as far as nail polishes go, are dark burgandy colors. My HG got discontinued, so I was looking for something close to that color. This isn't exactly it, but it's similar with few differences. From reading some of the other reviews, I was worried this was going to come out looking black on my nails (which is something I don't want). Actually, this didn't look black on me at all. I could distinctly tell the clear difference that this was a dark purple, NOT black. Which all in all, is what I was going for. I only needed 2 coats for this to become true to the color in the bottle. This also left my nails shiny & glossy without using a top coat. This color is more of a fall/winter color. But, I like it so much that I might use it again in the summer. Overall, great color & I would definitely buy this one again.
