Lipstick -Maybelline - 24 Hour super stay

Why, oh why, did Maybelline discontinue it's 'SuperStay Lipcolor' and make this instead? I had found my PERFECT long-lasting lipcolor!! It was such a shame to find this in its place, because every color has such a ridiculous sparkle in it. It does last a very long time, and if you apply it correctly (actually waiting the full two minutes!), it won't flake away or be gross. If only the subtle colors would come back, it would be great. C'est la vie. My quest for the perfect lipstick resumes.

Lips -MAC - Pro Longwear - Till Tomorrow
rated 5 of 5

Love this! It is a nice dusty rose color on me, not gray at all as some descriptions suggest. It lasts a while on its own but lipliner definitely helps. Very excited to have found a subtle long-wearing color.

Lipstick -MAC - Matte - Chili
rated 5 of 5

Finally, I have found my red lipstick! I am pretty pale, and most red lipsticks make me look like a serial killer clown. This is a matte brick color that is very flattering and can be during the day (although I wear it at night). Its matte texture makes it more long-wearing on me, which I like. Be sure to use long-wearing lipliner to keep it in place. Hallelujah!

Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Baked Pyramid Matte Bronzer - Tan
rated 4 of 5

I really like this bronzer. It is subtle and mostly matte, with a hint of shine that doesn't make you look like you're wearing glitter. I am very pale and it is easy to blend this so it looks natural. I also like trying the wet application for more color.

Foundations -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Glow Sheers SPF 30
rated 3 of 5

I don't understand the low rating for this tinted moisturizer. I really love it! I got the lightest color, and it did not make me orange (like previous reviewers commented). It is very light but still gives good coverage, evening out my skin tone without looking like I have makeup on. In fact, I forget I'm wearing makeup when I wear it. I like that it has SPF and is oil free. *Note: I see in the photos for this product that it isn't called a tinted moisturizer, although my product says "illuminating tinted moisturizer" where the products in the photo say "natural radiant look." Perhaps the formula was changed? UPDATE: Since trying other tinted moisturizers, I have come to realize this is not the best option out there. My face gets oily pretty quickly with this, as compared to other TMs. Oh well.

Lips -Origins - Matte Stick
rated 4 of 5
hip2Bsquare 8/16/2011 8:33:00 PM

I really like the ease of Origins Matte Stick. It is effortless to put on and wear, and the Pink Lemonade color is universally flattering. Minus one lippie because it needs constant sharpening, and because it doesn't last long (although I feel that way about most lipsticks). Very pretty, and I'm happy to repurchase, perhaps with the Origins Underwear for Lips to enhance length of wear.

Blush -Origins - Brush on Color in Sugar Cookie
rated 5 of 5

I LOVE this blush! I never thought I liked blush until I tried this. The color is matte peach, which gives my fair skin a sun-kissed look without being Raggedy Ann Doll. It does not make my poor skin break out, which is great. It also lasts all day, even on bare skin. Also, my fiance doesn't love the look of makeup, but whenever I'm wearing this he always says I look particularly lovely. Very pleased with this purchase.

Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Powder Palette Multi-colored Pressed Powder Translucent
rated 2 of 5

This did not stop me from looking oily or red. Also, I tried to like the multi-colored palette, but it just left me looking blotchy. I will keep this in my purse for emergencies, but there are better powders (like Maybelline Dream Matte Powder).

Tinted Moisturizer -Boots - No7 Soft and Sheer Tinted Moisturiser
rated 2 of 5
hip2Bsquare 8/16/2011 8:24:00 PM

Let me qualify this review by saying: I wore this product for over a year in the hope that it would grow on me. But it just didn't! The biggest problems are these: First, this is not tinted moisturizer. It is foundation. It does not moisturize at all and the coverage is more akin to foundation. Second, I chose the fairest color, and it left me orange. I tried to remedy it by mixing it with moisturizer, but it still gave me a very strange color. Third, it always felt like I was wearing makeup. Tinted moisturizer is supposed to feel like a light alternative to foundation, but I was always keenly aware of it, and it felt very heavy on my face. I am giving it two stars because I liked the coverage, but it isn't what it says it is. Go elsewhere for tinted moisturizer.
