Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 1% BHA Lotion Exfoliant [REFORMULATED]

I love this product. I bought a bunch of samples, and I am glad I did. My skin cannot tolerate AHA's for some reason. I always break out in cysts. This stuff cleared my skin very quickly. I also tried samples of the 2% lotion and liquid, but they were just a tad too strong. I use this in combination w/the One Step Cleanser for oily/combo skin and it works great.

In one word-heaven-just absolute heaven! Like many of you, I received a sample in the latest Sephora magazine. I knew I had to have it. The 1.7 oz. was sold out, so I got the .7 oz. because I have found that for some reason, the larger bottles don't smell as "fresh" as the smaller ones. I got it yesterday and practically bathed in it. It is so wonderful to finally find a NEW fragrance that brings along new-not bittersweet, not old, memories! Finally, I have found a new scent that I am just crazy about. To describe it for me, would be a very "clean" floral. It is not sickening sweet, not too floral-just smells like you took a shower. It is also not heavy-just a perfect light fragrance w/great staying power! I am going to get the lotion next. Can you tell I love it?

Moisturizers -Lancome - High Resolution Intense Recovery Anti-Wrinkle Cream

Ok, thank goodness I got a free sample of this-all .5 oz. of it when I bought a Lancome soap from the website. First off, it stinks-smells like cheap, stale perfume. Second, and the worst of it-it gave me the biggest, nastiest, single cystic-inflamed pimple I have ever had in my entire life-right on my inner cheek below my nose. I mean this zit just will not go away-it has been on my face for over a week and a half. It is so deep it will probably leave a scar. All due to using this cream for less than a week. I am done w/Lancome. Once I finish up my Clarifiance cleanser, that is it.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Blackhead Eliminating 2 in 1 Foaming Pads
rated 1 of 5
geographer 2/25/2008 11:02:00 AM

This has to be the WORST skin product I have used over the years. I only used these pads for 3 nights-just once a day, and my face is so dry that the texture is actally "gritty". I mean my entire chin is peeling. I would never recommend this-not even for the oily of oilest skin types. If I coudl just say 1 good thing-it does smell good. I am going to use the rest of these to clean my bathroom. I wouldn't even give these away-I couldn't be that mean!

Fragrances -Avon - Far Away

One of Avon's classic and classy scents. It really does to me, smell like something you could buy from Chanel. It is clean, with a hint of fruity floral that lingers ever so softly, like a whisper. Not overpowering in the least bit, it will evoke the curiousity of those around you to wonder what smells so good!

I am glad I got a little bottle of this. This really stinks to me-like a mixture of sweat and stale deodorant that quit working several hours ago. I don't know why, but I can't stand it and I LOVE the original Far Away. I will say that Avon has excellent customer service and I quickly sent this one back.

Styling Products -Rusk - being undressed

This stuff just works wonders. I have dry, over processed and porous dyed hair, and when I use it (on wet or dry hair) it doesn't build up, get greasy or limp, it just gives it body, definition, and more style. I also love that it is so versatile. Well worth the cost.

Hair -Rusk - W8less Spray

My hairdresser uses this stuff all the time, but I don't like it. It doesn't hold my hair at all, and it smells like men's cologne or aftershave. SO many other good hairsprays out there, this isn't one of them...

Conditioner -Rusk - Sensories Calm 60 second Conditioner

I think that this conditioner smells great, it is very lightweight and not greasy, yet it is lacking something that cannot justify the price. I just don't think it is anything special. A bottle of SunSilk conditioner could do just the same...

All I can say about this is that someone is making a lot of $ off of something that barely lasts more than 30 minutes. Also, the scent is very unpredictable. Sometimes you will get the familiar cotton candy type smell, other times it will be nothing but pepper/musk, other times a very faint smell. Can't afford to waste the $...

Styling Products -Matrix - Biolage Fortifying Heat Styler

I bought this because I was having a lot of breakage around my bangs and my crown area. My hair is also very porous, dry, and over processed. I was skeptical at first, because I really don't like leave in's that are creme-based, but this stuff works miracles. It really does make your hair shiny, also. I use just a little bit and either blow dry or let my hair dry naturally. Since I use a curling iron everyday, I also put just a dab on before I curl my hair. I would defintely repurchase because this really smooths out hair w/out the sticky, greasy build up.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Falling in Love EDP
rated 1 of 5
geographer 12/4/2007 11:27:00 PM

I just got this in part of a TSV from QVC and I am very disappointed. First of all, it smells nothing like what I remembered-nothing like the familiar scent. This has a very sharp, peppery, musky note in it and that overpowers and takes away from any sweet/fruity scent it may have. The perfume roll on is even worse-what a rip off. The shimmer lotion-no shimmer by the way, and the body butter smell like plastic. I truly do love cotton candy type scents, but I am better off ordering from Parfums de Coeur (or go to CVS or Walgreens if they have it) and just get the Cotton Candy Body Spray. It is about $6.00 and has the same if not more staying power than Falling in Love does. Also, I honestly think that Bath and Body Works EDT (take Japanese Cherry Blossom or Warm Vanilla Sugar) they sell for about 18.50 are better quality and last longer than any fragrance I have ever tried from Philosophy. A Philosophy girl I am not, a practical girl I am...

Yuck, just got this today in the mail, and I don't understand how something could be marketed like this. I am not getting any scent in this whatsoever, but I am getting a grease mark on my wrist when I try to apply it.

I just got my first bottle today and am very happy w/it! It smells sweet, fruity, w/a touch floral, yet very crisp and clean all at the same time- Not heavy or over powering. My new favorite perfume! Well worth it.

Treatments -Aveda - Damage Remedy Restructuring Treatment

Good Grief this stuff stinks. I just cannot get past the smell. It smells like it has been marinating in some sort of chemical for years and years. In addition, for $24, I thought I would be getting something that at least works decent if I can get past the smell. I just can't do it. I am returning this stuff. Shame on me for spending that much money for a tube of basically nothing but nasty odor. The best reconstructor I ever bought was last week at Sally's-it is called "Venetian Blends Masque Divina". For $10, it works better than any high-end salon product I have ever bought. And believe me, I have over processed, chemically treated, and very dry hair. And one more thing-I don't have to worry about the scent making me nauseous.
