Primer/ Corrector -Givenchy - Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer
foxysoxy804 2/11/2009 11:18:00 PM
What it is: A mattifying powder gel. What it does: Givenchy Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer is a soft skin primer that can be used alone or under makeup for a velvety smooth complexion. The lightweight fluid softens and hydrates with silicone gum extracts; and plant extracts work to control sebum production, which provides a long-lasting matte effect that remains light enough to let skin breathe. The subtle light-blue pearlescent shimmers counteract a dull look and minimize the appearance of large pores, leaving skin looking bright and glowing with health. (Above taken from Sephora.com) I just purchased this today. I have not used it under my makeup yet but I intend to update this as soon as I do (tomorrow). I did apply the product to a part of my face today just to get a feel, and I can safely say that this product has given me the most velvety soft results. I have used Smashbox Photofinish, Lorac Aquaprime, Laura Mercier Oil-Free, Lancome La Base Pro. Hopefully this will keep my oilies at bay way longer than the other products do. Will update with results. EDIT: OK so today I wore this under my Lancome Teinte Idole foundation. It definitely tamed oilies but ofcourse not completely. But a very nice job and also prolongs the freshness of the makeup. Unfortunately I have been experiencing severe cakiness with my foundation even with the LIGHTEST amount of product on my t-zone. So I exchanged for Diorskin and am ecstatic to see how Mister Mat will work with my new foundation! 2ND EDIT: Ok I think this stuff is the culprit for my recent breakout. My skin tends to be a little sensitive...and Mister Mat is SCENTED. Its smell is very vague but it is there...it is a pretty exotic Givenchy scent. However for the face I don't think this is good! I have little bumps on my forehead. Hey, at least it's not cystic acne (cough cough MUFE). Anyways, I don't really notice any significant oil reduction, sadly. However this stuff is supposedly working great with most so give it a try still. However there IS silicone in this so please beware

Primer/ Corrector -Laura Mercier - Foundation Primer Oil -Free

My face looked like CRAP with this stuff on. My foundation went on noticeably cakier...it was so messed up. Definitely not smoothing, made my skin even oiler, my foundation was melting off my oily spots my the end of the day. RETURNING.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
foxysoxy804 2/8/2009 12:38:00 PM
AMAZING. I have SEVERE undereye circles and will post pictures so you can see them bare and with the product. I read some reviews and took MUAers' advice: get a peach color. They were right. The second I walked up to the BB counter they were asking me which bisque do I want. And I'm like..I'm actually thinking peach... They also pushed the creamy concealer on me and the results were great so I gave in and bought both. Just make sure you MOISTURIZE under the eye before putting this stuff on, because it can look really dry and cakey if you don't. I bought the corrector in Light Peach and the concealer in Natural. Feast your eyes!! (OK I am so sorry I don't know how to put pictures in my review. I tried!! Please see my profile, click on my pictures. All of the pics are in the category Product Swatches. I really hope this isn't an inconvenience, it is REALLY worth seeing the difference these products make!!) EDIT: I guess all good things come to an end...just wouldn't go on smooth anymore, dried and irritated my sensitive underyes, and coverage became sub-par. It was good while it lasted?

Masks -Queen Helene - Vitamin C + Honey
foxysoxy804 2/1/2009 8:37:00 PM
Love this stuff! I have so much fun peeling off masks, and this mask is by far the easiest to peel off. Doesn't break off while peeling or anything!! Does the job...gets rid of dead skin cells. I use 2-3 times a week and have definitely noticed an improvement in my skin! It is REALLY sticky but I don't care.

Loose Powders -Stila - Hydrating Finishing Powder
foxysoxy804 1/26/2009 5:51:00 PM
AMAZING finishing powder. I use this over by Lancome Teint Idol foundation and it's true beauty. The powder is a skin color but it dries clear. Suitable for everyone (only sold in one shade). Doesn't make me look powdery AT ALL. Love it!!! *knock on wood* The jar is only half filled with the product as the previous reviewer mentioned. Which sucks. But the amount of powder seems to be pretty long-lasting so...I think it will be OK! If you despised MUFE HD Finishing Powder because it was drying and gave your skin a white cast, THIS is for you!!! :) EDIT: Still using and still loving. (5/21/09) I love how it is basically a sheer skin color power that sets makeup very nicely. I still have A LOT of powder left. I've used it over several foundations (currently using Revlon CS) and it has never failed me.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - morning glow spf 15
foxysoxy804 1/22/2009 4:41:00 PM
I was an avid user of this product during my pre-teen years. Moisturized well and gave my face a healthy glow. The smell is a perfume citrus type deal...it smells really good and could wake you up in the morning (hence what the line is marketed to do). However, PLEASE do not put this stuff on before putting in your contacts (or reaching in your eyes for anything). It will burn like HELL. Just a word of warning. Buy this if you want a basic moisturizer that provides a glow.

Lip Gloss -Stila - Watermelon Lipglaze
foxysoxy804 1/21/2009 9:33:00 PM
I was looking for a frosty light pink lip color. As a fan of Stila's lipglaze stick, I decided to try out the original glaze and chose watermelon. I love the color. It is pretty subtle in lightening my lip color but it does the job. I don't really mind the applicator (as of now) but I do prefer lip glosses with different applicator designs. Definitely try the lipglaze. Worst case scenario: you hate it and get your money back.

Lip Gloss -Cover Girl - Wetslicks Crystals Bubble
foxysoxy804 1/21/2009 9:28:00 PM
HORRIBLE stuff. Looks good for about 2 minutes, then dries to a tacky NOTHING. All I have left are sparkles that are nearly impossible to get off my lips! DO NOT BUY THIS GLOSS.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes
foxysoxy804 1/21/2009 9:27:00 PM
Really cute color selection. I have several shades (thanks to my mother's obsession with Lancome, she gets so many samples) that match my mood quite nicely. However, this is by far the stickiest gloss you may ever come across. It's nearly impossible to get the nasty feeling off of your fingers, even if you wash your hands! Not good on the go, because you're gonna have to deal with sticky fingers when you put it on! Also, the stickiness transfers to the lips as well. It's very bearable but after a while you may feel a "numbness" hard feeling on your lips. That means the gloss is wearing off, but unfortunately the sticky stays with you! Lovely colors, but I'm sure you can find cute colors with other brands without the mess.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
foxysoxy804 1/19/2009 10:25:00 PM
This blush is a beautiful color. I have cool skin, an olive/beige color. This blush brings instant radiance to my face and makes me look so healthy and fresh! The compact it comes in is very cute. I think the name suits this product well. The color gives your face a nice and healthy "flush" that one might experience doing the dirty deed...lol! Update: Lasting power (at least on me) is nowhere near superb. It's still a nice blush to have though.

Loose Powders -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Loose Powder
foxysoxy804 1/19/2009 8:55:00 PM
Well, the only positive thing about this product is it controls oil very well. Why? Because it is SO DRYING!!! My skin is ridiculously dry this winter which is why I made the big switch from powder to liquid foundation. I bought this in hopes of setting the foundation without drying out the skin. Also the translucent color was appealing because I didn't want to have to color match two make-up items (the liquid and the setting powder). Anyways, this product makes my foundation look chalky and like...whited out? I don't know, slightly ghostlike. Definitely returning to Sephora. I am going to try Stila's Hydrating Finishing Powder.

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Idole ULTRA [DISCONTINUED]
foxysoxy804 1/16/2009 1:41:00 PM
Bought this after returning MUFE Face & Body Foundation. Stopped that stuff before it turned a new pimple into a full scale breakout, also didn't cover my acne scars. I decided to try Lancome since their Effacernes concealer is my godsend (both formula and color match). I figured Lancome would have much better shades for my very neutral/slightly cool beige/olive complexion. After a very nice SA at Sephora applied a few colors to my face, I decided on Bisque 2 (Cool). And I was right. The color was beautiful and much more suited to my skin than MUFE (and I should have known better since I had a disaster with them before with their Lift concealer, see my review for that). Applied with my MAC 187, absolutely flawless. Much better coverage than the foundation that is marketed towards both face & body. Lancome is my favorite brand. Will update if anything bad comes about due to this makeup. EDIT: As expected, things have been going great. Lancome truly is my HG face makeup brand. 2ND EDIT: Ok wow, I stopped using this. I have been noticing some EXTREME cakiness on my t-zone upon application, even when using a tiny bit of product. After trying different primers and such, I figured it's the foundation doing the damage! I am starting Diorskin with SPF 10 and I am so excited to see how this one works out. So minus 2 lippies for the cakiness. Also during the day once my skin starts getting oily in the t-zone, it looks VERY cakey (even more so (probably 2 times worse)).

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
foxysoxy804 1/16/2009 1:31:00 PM
I am absolutely makeup dumb. Not good at applying makeup due to shaky hands/bad eyes/an inability to see streaks or flaws or anything. For (IMO) the most complicated component of beauty, liquid foundation, someone like me needs the 187 brush. It makes putting the foundation on so easy. Also, it looks flawless. What you do is dab the top of the brush in the foundation, then dot it all around your face. Then, blend it all in with the brush using circular buffing motion. 44 dollars is a ton of money to spend on a brush. However, it is definitely worth it if you are like me.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)
foxysoxy804 1/16/2009 1:25:00 PM
This is a great product. I myself do not have noticeably oily eyelids or anything like that (in fact my eye area is pretty dry), I was just looking for something that would make my eyeshadow stay throughout the entire day with ease. This stuff definitely keeps the shadow in place. Does its job. Its formula is creamy, looks almost like a concealer for fairer skinned people. Once you rub it in, its clear. Yes, everyone complains about the packaging. For one, I feel that it is difficult to get the desired amount of product on the applicator. Second, a ton of it is left all over the place in places the applicator would never reach. Personally, I feel that Urban Decay is strategically making this bottle. For those of us who don't think too hard and figure that if nothing's coming out on the brush then I'm out of product: we are the victims. Urban Decay probably wants us to pay the 20 dollars for this product much more than we need to. Typical business junk. Recommended.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Face & Body Foundation
foxysoxy804 1/14/2009 9:07:00 PM
So I just bought this today. I do not know if this is a HG. Right now I have it on. It is my first liquid foundation. I had to convert because my usual powder foundation was drying out my skin like no other (and Chicago winter=death). I think it makes my skin look flawless. Much better coverage then powder foundation, thats for sure, and it also looks more natural. I can see why people like liquid foundation more. I think I have had this on for about 5 hours. My face has yet to break out in oilies. I'm dead serious. By now, my powder foundation would be oiling up around the nose and chin. As a liquid foundation newbie, I am very pleased with the application ability of this product. It blends in beautifully, no streaks or anything. I have neutral beige olive skin, and I am wearing this in shade 34. I hate MUFE's color system, I have had problems with them before but rest assured I figured out the best shade for me. The color seems a little bit darker/warmer when you put it on your face at home than when you use that same color out of a tester bottle at Sephora. It still looks very natural and normal, no mask look goin' on or anything. Within 30 minutes to an hour, it seems to turn into the original color you chose. And no, it isn't wearing off (because all of my acne scars are still hidden!) I finish with the MUFE HD loose powder. So far I am extremely pleased. Extremely expensive, the two items cost over 30 dollars each. Whatever, for now it's worth it. Welcome to the world of LIQUID FOUNDATION EDIT: Today was my first "official" day wearing it (out). Definitely has lasting power but it caused a pimple on my forehead. I'm gonna stop now before it turns into a breakout. Also the color is a bit too dark/pinkish for me so I am gonna switch to Lancome (I use their Effacernes concealer in neutral (beige) and never in my life have I found such a good color match). Also I have acne scars on my forehead and my chin. Although the product slightly camouflaged the ones on my chin, it did nothing for my forehead (no matter how many layers I put on)
