My husband gave me this perfume before we were married, and I'll admit it, I mostly wanted it for the bottle. However, it is a pretty, rich floral scent and I do like wearing it, but I rarely wear perfume. Still, every girl needs a perfume, and this one means a lot to me since it was one of the first gifts my husband gave me. It still smells just as good after a few years, too!
I only own 2 full sized eau de toilettes, but Burberry Brit is one of them. It's a rich, warm vanilla scent that isn't overpowering, it's just a sexy, clean, and pretty scent. It might not please fans of more dramatic scents, but it suits me just fine.
While I love most of the shadows in this palette, I have to be careful when I use it - some of the shades have surprise glitter! Everyone knows to watch out for Midnight Cowboy Rides Again, Uzi, or Maui Wowie, but I'm looking at you, Snatch! At first glance, it seems like a pretty, work-safe peach, but once I get under the fluorescent bulbs at work, I've got glitter all over my cheekbones! But that's not a big problem, since I eventually learned my lesson. Book of Shadows III is full of bold, exclusive colors that are sure to please Urban Decay fans. The look possibilities are endless! I love Bordello and Loaded most, but nearly every shade is a hit for me. I am a fan of the 24/7 liner formula, but I already have 2 other mini Zeros, so I don't need this one. I do like the purple shade, though. Of course, UD Primer Potion is something you can never have too much of! What a great primer! The packaging is a bit silly. It's whimsical for sure, but I don't ever open the top...good thing it lights up.
Prance is a very pale metallic mauvey gold. It shows up a bit like a metallic champagne on my NW15 skin, but despite being light, it is well-pigmented. The size is a good value, too, compared to normal MAC shadows.
Eye Shadow -MAC - Top Of The Posh Mega Metal Formula
ebidebby 1/31/2011 9:06:00 PM
MAC Top of the Posh is a pale, powder pink with a golden metallic sheen. It's a beautiful color, if a little light, and it was part of MAC's Peacocky collection. Although the price is higher, it's larger than normal MAC shadows and I don't foresee running out.
Lip Gloss -MAC - Kissable Lipcolour in Flaunting It
ebidebby 1/31/2011 9:01:00 PM
Flaunting It is a gorgeous, universally flattering lipcolor. It's a muted plum with hints of brick and gray and has a slightly shiny finish. The best thing about it is the Kissable Lipcolor formula. It applies like a gloss but feels better than a lipstick - it's silky, smooth, and not at all sticky. The color is true to swatch and lasts a long time. The product is on the expensive side.
Lip Gloss -MAC - I.Want.Candy Dazzleglass Creme (Alice + Olivia)
ebidebby 1/30/2011 3:23:00 PM
I.Want.Candy is a fascinating greenish yellow lip gloss with tiny flecks of silver glitter. It's a bit scary in the tube, but shouldn't be feared! It does look a bit odd on its own, but it can really transform a lipstick. It really shines over corals, bringing out their warm notes. I like it over "O" as I think it brings out the brown. I'm cool-toned and pale, and I do think I.Want.Candy would suit a warm-toned person better. The Dazzleglass Creme formula is thick and a bit sticky (though less so than a regular MAC Lipglass) and packs a milky glossy sheen.
Lip Gloss -MAC - If it’s Pink Dazzleglass Creme (Alice + Olivia)
ebidebby 1/30/2011 3:12:00 PM
If It's Pink... is a very pretty hot pink that has decent pigmentation. I like the Dazzleglass Creme formula, and it smells lovely, too (like all MAC lip products). It is gorgeous by itself or over other lipsticks. However, it was very expensive for not a lot of product, and as other people mentioned, it's not the most unique shade out there. I don't regret buying it, but I don't think I'd buy a rerelease.
I love using Typographic as a liner, since it's softer than basic black but still looks dramatic. It is very pigmented, and the texture is soft and blendable. It works well in smokey looks, but it's a little too dark for me to use as a shadow regularly.
Eye Shadow -MAC - Mineralize Eyeshadow Trio in Danger Zone
ebidebby 1/30/2011 12:41:00 PM
This was one of my first MAC purchases, but I've barely used it. The red covers well, and is good to have on the rare occasions when I need red, and the black is fine, but definitely dupeable. The silver is just useless. It adds a little chunky glitter, but it's not something I ever want in a look.
This color doesn't look the same in person as it does online. It looks like true purple online, but it feels more like magenta. Also, I can't see the glitter when it's on my nails, and it has a matte finish that I wasn't expecting. It could be my lack of skills, but the coverage isn't very even, either.
As many people have said, this is the holy grail highlighter! I wear it almost every day. I use NW15 foundation, and this highlighter gives me a lovely, subtle glow. I think it would suit warm and cool toned skin of all shades, and the product itself is beautiful with a silky texture.
Powder -MAC - New View- Light/Medium Natural and Shimmer
ebidebby 1/30/2011 11:00:00 AM
It's a nice powder with very subtle shimmer, thanks to the MSF portion. I've had the same experience as someone else below in that it's impossible to use the powder without the shimmer, but the shimmer is so light it blends in nicely. Both sections of product have a soft, velvety finish and work well as a setting powder.
As someone else mentioned, this color isn't for everyone. While I think it can work on just about any skin type, it's impractically bright, so if that's not your thing, then stay away. The formula is thick and not too sticky, and coverage is opaque. You see hot pink in the tube, and you get hot pink on your lips. It takes a couple dips into the container to get enough product, at least on my lips. Although I love the product, it's a little on the expensive side. Luckily, it's not something I wear every day.
Snazzy was my holiday lipstick for 2010. It's a plummy red with glitter, and the glitter stays put when the lipstick is applied. While I wear it, I am very aware of the glitter on my lips. It feels a bit gritty, but it's not uncomfortable.
