Eye Shadow -MAC - Icebox Eye Shadow

Purchased this off ebay and it took nearly 4 weeks to receive it in CA from CN, via airmail. Lousy service! But it was worth it -- this is a beautiful light blue w/subtle silver flecks in it. As with all MAC e/s, goes on nice, stays well, doesn't irritate. I'm really glad I went to the trouble and expense to get this through auction; what my seller said is that this color is discontinued. Too bad, they should bring it back.

Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Kabuki
rated 5 of 5

Bobbi's kabuki brush is a dream come true! I've never seen Cat's so I can't compare to that. But all the others I've felt, and the BE one that I own, are not nearly as SOFT as Bobbi's. Soft, soft, soft! It's a delight to use and distributes powder perfectly. Full, but not too packed, and no bristles have come out on my face, even from the beginning. And to top it off, it comes in this adorable little black bag, a miniature doctors bag. Too cute.

Eyeliner -BeneFit Cosmetics - Eyeliner- Flash
rated 4 of 5

I really like this Flash Stick and will likely purchase another one as I misplaced my old one. For one thing, it lasts forever (I only use a teeny bit, and sharpened it maybe once a month) and for another, it gives your eyes a nice pop when applied to the inner corners and inner bottom rim (be careful!). I discounted one lippie as I would prefer a creamier application, but overall a very handy pencil to have. You can also use as a l/l, esp. if your going for a light, shimmery pink or beige look.

Eyeliner -LORAC - #17
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/19/2003 1:56:00 AM

This is a very light, shimmery golden beige. I tried it at Sephora to line my bottom inner lid and inner eye area, to brighten my eyes and give them a little pop. Boy did it do just that! Similar to Benefit's Flash Stick (which I had and loved but lost) but warmer in tone, creamier in texture and application. I was just about to buy it when the SA talked me into their house brand e/l in a v. light matte pink shade. But now I'm home and wish I would've gotten the Lorac instead. Lorac, $12 for approx. 7"; Sephora $4 for approx. 4". But I really prefered the Lorac and will prob. go back and exchange for it.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace cologne
rated 4 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/19/2003 1:47:00 AM

I adore the scent of this fragrance, and that's what it's really about, right? But it seemed to dissapear before my very eyes, or at least before I got out of the store where I tested it. Damn! That's why I discounted 1 lippie. But I must say next time I see it on QVC, if it's packaged with the matching lotion (hopefully creating more 'staying power' ) and there's actually money in my account, I'll probably go for it, because the smell is... well, heavenly!

Lipstick -NARS - Flair
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/19/2003 12:42:00 AM

Gorgeous! Warm coppery brick red, but in a subtle way if that makes sense... w/ a tiny bit of gold flash. I like it blottted a bit with the lighter shade from Cargo San Fran l/g over. Picked this up by chance at Sephora and I'm sure glad I did.

Lipstick -Stila - Wacky Chick Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/17/2003 12:56:00 PM

Yay! I can finally wear pink! I'm MMM brown hair/eyes w/a bit of a tan, and it looks quite good on me if I do say so myself. Since it's a warm pink/peach, it works w/my warm/pink undertone complexion. I drove 60+ miles round-trip for this lippie, and it's worth it! Decent staying power, will pair w/warm pink or neutral l/l. While I don't mind the cardboard pkg. for the e/s, I despise it for lippies as it gets really ratty-looking bouncing around in your makeup bag. I might just shave off a chunk and put in a palette for 'travel'. A+ on my list!

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy tubes - Fresh
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/17/2003 3:34:00 AM

This is a golden shimmering peach that goes on sheer, but with a hint of it's colors. Warm, light, gorgeous. I bought it to use over Coquette l/s, but I can see it's very versatile and will be used alot, esp. spring/summer. Also looks good over Lancome Raisinberry l/l. While most JT's have a flavor that matches the color, I'm getting raspberry from this one. Yummy! I don't know what season/collection this is from as I'm just starting with the whole Juicy Tube thang. Worth checking out, for sure.

Lip Liners -Lancome - Le Lipstique Raisinberry
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/17/2003 3:24:00 AM

I purchased this to go with Lancome Rouge Sensation in Coquette. It's a beautiful warm brown-plum and while its darker than what I would normally pick, it really works for me. I can see using it year-round, actually, it's very versatile. While pricey at $19.50, there's a l/s brush on the opposite end that comes in so handy! It measures 6 3/4 so it's not too long to fit in my m/u bag. Also looks good w/a light peachy gloss such as Fresh Juicytube. A winner!

Lipstick -Lancome - Rouge Sensation Coquette
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/17/2003 3:16:00 AM

I fell in love with the lips they did on me at a recent Lancome event. They are: Coquette, Raisinberry l/l and Fresh Juicytube on top. Beeeauuutiful! I don't normally buy all the components of a lip makeover, but I fell for this one. I even got 2 compliments later on from different MA, at diff. counters! Coquette is very versatile, on me it shows as warm rose bronze w/a hint of ripe peach. Of course it's much deeper and darker over the Raisinberry l/l. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat, and may just get one for my sister, too.

Lotions/ Creams -Archipelago Botanicals - Milk Soy Creme No. 3
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/14/2003 1:35:00 PM

I tried this from a tester at Anthropologie on a whim. I had been sniffing, testing, trying out stuff all day, was tired, and just threw some on before I sat down in one of their comfy chairs to rest a moment. The cream went on smoothly, silkily, not greasy... I thought 'nice...' then left the store. I was tired, it was late, my feet hurt. That evening, I wondered why my hands felt and smelled so good, then I remembered! The lovely soy something-or-another cream I'd tried! I was mad at myself for not getting it. So a week later I drove myself back to the store (20 miles) specifically to pick up a tube - I remembered it (incorrectly) as being $11 for 3.2 oz, reasonable - but it was actually $16. A little steep, but still worth it for me. I love the absorption, the divine smell, and the performance - stays w/me for several hours and reduces the 'crepeness' I'm starting to get on my 46 y/o hands. Will repurchase, and probably get the lg. body lotion as well.

Eye Primer -Unlisted Brand - Amica All-Day Shadow Base
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/11/2003 1:56:00 PM

I picked this up on a whim, looking for something as an e/s base to stop the creasing. It does just that! I haven't used many e/s bases, but this one seems to work really well so perhaps I don't need to look further. It is thick and if you put on too much the shimmer can show up, as the previous reviewer mentioned. But a tiny dab-ul-do-ya. When you first apply, it is creamy, then it 'hardens' for lack of a better description. Works very well, will repurchase. And while it is a tiny pot, it is a good value at under 6 bucks.

Scrubs -Bare Escentuals - Liquid Loofah Body Brightener
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/11/2003 2:34:00 AM

I absolutely love this body scrub. It contains a non-drying soap as well, so you don't have to soap up before applying a scrub, as with some other products I've tried. It smells great, rinses off well, and works wonders on my extra dry, bumpy skin. I use it with a nylon puff scrubber, I get wonderful lather. The only problem I have with the product is the packaging - the bottle has a pour spout which tends to get clogged becauce the product itself is thick. I once squeezed the bottle to get it out, and the bottle itself cracked. But I returned it to the store where they gave me a brand new bottle, no questions asked! I will repurchase again and again.

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Glosswear for Lips- Sunshine
rated 5 of 5
cutiepatootie 5/8/2003 12:16:00 PM

I'm MMM w/brown hair+eyes. This is a beautiful sheer, shimmery peach w/a tiny hint of bronze. A bit too light to wear on it's own, but over MAC Spice l/l is nice, even better over Stila Jane l/s, and best over Clinique Color Surge l/s in Pure Posh. Great wand style, not too sticky, no flavor of its own, great texture. Would repurchase.

Lipstick -Clinique - Colour Surge Lipstick - Pure Posh

I'm MMM w/brown hair/eyes, this is a perfect bronzy/peachy/pink tone on me. An everyday staple. It's long wearing, very pigmented and looks fantastic with Clinique glosswear for lips in Sunshine over it. Will definitely repurchase both.
