Eye Shadow -Mary Kay - velocity shadow box - sweet heart
rated 3 of 5

This was my first and probably last experience with Mary Kay eye shadows. Don't get me wrong, this palette isn't terrible, but there are so many companies out there with better eye shadows. The pigmentation is mediocre. The texture is a bit hard. The color combination is a little strange...there is a light shimmery gold, a medium dark shimmery brown, a shimmery celery green, and a light matte pink. I like that the packaging is clear, but it's unnecessarily bulky.

Skincare - Body -Estee Lauder - The Body Oil Spray by Tom Ford for Estee Lauder Azuree Collection
rated 5 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 1/15/2009 11:15:00 PM

Rarely do I come across a scent that I would describe as extraordinary, but this truly is extraordinary!! People always ask what I'm wearing when I have this on. It is reminiscent of suntan oil, but with more notes, not just the typical coconut. It is very warm, sensual, and exotic. It's meant to be a summer scent, but I wear it year round here in San Diego. In an effort to conserve what I have (since it was limited edition) I don't use it as a body oil. I only give myself two spritzes, but that's enough to keep me scented all day.

Bronzers -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty inspired by Carmindy Sun Glow Powder Bronzer in Summer
rated 5 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 1/12/2009 7:30:00 PM

This is a really great bronzer! The color is so natural looking, nobody will suspect it's not your real skin tone. For reference, I use the carmindy foundation in "creamy beige." The bronzer is buildable and not too sheer. It does have a slight bit of shimmer to it, but it's very subtle. I also love the sunflower design in the powder...so pretty and practical. I would not hesitate to repurchase this.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Extra Gentle Cleanser
rated 1 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 12/14/2008 1:53:00 AM

This is the WORST cleanser I have ever used in my life. The instructions say that it can be rinsed off with water or tissued off, but if I rinse it off with just water, it leaves tons of residue on my face and doesn't take off any makeup. It works alright if I tissue it off, but it irritates my eyes if I use it to take off eye makeup.

Shampoo -Frederic Fekkai - Moisturizing Shampoo with Shea Butter
rated 3 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 12/11/2008 3:40:00 PM

I was completely underwhelmed by this shampoo. With most expensive shampoos, I only need a little bit of product to get my hair clean, but with this I had to use kind of a lot. While it does smell pleasant and has a nice texture, it doesn't do anything extraordinary to justify the hefty price tag.

Blush -L'Oreal - Feel Naturale - Rustica
rated 4 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 12/9/2008 5:53:00 PM

This is a great blush that would probably work for all skin tones. The color is a neutral medium pink with fine shimmer. It has exactly the right amount of pigmentation for a blush and the texture is great. It is not cheap for a drugstore blush, but well worth the money since the quality is comparable to that of high end blushes. My biggest gripe is that the packaging is kind of big. I prefer my blush compacts to come without a brush to cut down on packaging bulk and because I always use my own brush anyway.

Palettes -Stila - Blanc Palette
rated 5 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 11/21/2008 2:13:00 AM

It was love at first sight with this palette. Even though I already own tons of neutral eyeshadows, the eyeshadows in this palette are so beautiful and compliment each other so perfectly that the palette really stands out as being a true gem. The only thing about the colors that I would change is the blush. It's a bit brighter than what I'm used to and I don't think it looks particularly good on me, even if I apply it with a light hand (NC 35 for reference). Also, although the packaging of the palette is cute, I hate that it's made of cardboard.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Flashy Liner Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 11/10/2008 8:38:00 PM

A word of CAUTION: The 2 black shades in this pencil aren't as good as the colored pencils. They seem to have an entirely different formulation than the colored pencils. This review is for the colored pencils only. These highly pigmented pencil eyeliners glide on super smooth with no tugging and leave a metallic finish that is indeed very "flashy." These pencils are waterproof, smudgeproof, and (with the exception of my waterline) don't fade. They are pretty damn near perfect and only $8!!! My favorites are green, brown, and copper. I only wish they made this in more colors.

Lipstick -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy l/s
rated 3 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 11/2/2008 9:05:00 PM

I bought this in seashell nude because I saw a gorgeous pic of it on the lips on temptalia.com. In the pic, it looked beigey pink, but on my own lips it looks neutral brown with only the slightest hint of pink. To it's credit, it did look pretty much exactly like the color swatch on the bottom of the tube. I also liked that the lipstick feels very moist on the lips and that the packaging is a lot nicer than most drugstore lipstick's. The one thing that really bugged me is that it smells bad. The odor is not as strong as rimmel lipsticks, but the scent is worse. The smell bugs me enough to return the lipstick.

Skincare - Body -Sally Hansen - Airbrush Legs in Light Glow
rated 3 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 10/30/2008 7:52:00 PM

I have 2 major gripes w/ this product. The first one is that the color selection sucks. The lightest shade, "light glow," is still too dark and orange for me and I'm not even very fair (about NC 35 in mac). The second is that the spray nozzle tends to clog up badly after a while so that it becomes difficult to get the product out. Also, there is a lot of fine shimmer in this, which can be a good thing or bad depending on your tastes. On the plus side, it is very long lasting and transfer resistant. Overall, I don't like it enough to repurchase or recommend to anyone.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 10/9/2008 3:40:00 PM

This sunscreen has changed my life! I have combo skin w/ a super oily T-zone and I'd never been able to find a product that could keep my oilies under control, that is, until I found this. It does a great job protecting from the sun, it doesn't dry my skin out and it also makes for a superb makeup primer. I think I detect a very slight whitish cast when I use this, but it really isn't an issue for me since I always wear foundation over it. HG product for me.

Liquid -Fusion Beauty - BioActive Mineral Intuitive Soft Focus Fluid Foundation SPF10
rated 4 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 9/28/2008 6:13:00 PM

I have been using this foundation along with the skin fusion brightening lotion and mineral powder and my skin has never been happier! My normally dull acne prone skin is now clear and luminous. This foundation blurs imperfections slightly and gives my skin a lit from within glow. However, I should note that the coverage is very light so don't buy it expecting it to cover every flaw. I use this after applying the brightening lotion and shiseido spf 55 sunscreen and have not had any problems with it flaking, creasing, or not blending (like some other reviewers have mentioned). My skin is far from perfect so I supplement this foundation with a medium coverage foundation on areas I need more coverage, like my nose and under my eyes. I would highly recommend this to people looking for a sheer foundation.

Sunscreen -Aveeno - Active Naturals Continuous Protection Sunblock Spray - SPF 45
rated 3 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 9/25/2008 5:48:00 AM

This sunblock seems to offer pretty good protection from the sun. I've used it all summer and don't think I've gotten any darker. The packaging is the best I've seen for a drugstore sunscreen...the eggshell colored brushed metal canister looks understated and the spray works from every angle without clogging. However, the sunscreen has a very heavy chemical smell that permeates the entire room when you are applying it. I often apply it outside my place just because I hate the lingering chemical smell. I also dislike that it leaves your skin looking slightly shinier. I don't like it enough to repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Prestige - Chiffon C-230
rated 4 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 9/22/2008 6:37:00 PM

This e/s is of typical prestige quality...finely milled and well pigmented. It pairs nicely with MAC's apricot pink pigment. The only reason I didn't give it 5 lippies is because it's a little too cool toned to complement my warm skin. I would recommend it for cool toned gals though.

Powder -Fusion Beauty - SkinFusion Bio Active Brightening Minerals
rated 4 of 5
crazysexycoolchick 9/18/2008 6:56:00 PM

I'm NC 35 and bought it in "medium" and "radiance". "Radiance" is just a very shimmery pink tinted highlighter. It's similar to Revlon's discontinued skinlights highlighters and while it's nice, it's totally NOT worth the money imo. The "medium" powder is much more worth the splurge. It is a great finishing powder that adds a lovely glow to the face. It does have very fine shimmer in it since mica is the first ingredient on the list. However, the shimmer seems to disappear after the powder settles in. The marketing material says that it can be used as a buildable foundation, but it's so light that I doubt anyone would be able to use it as a foundation with any success. If this powder was better at absorbing oil, it would be HG for me.
