This has the best coverage I've found in an undereye concealer so far, but it does have some drawbacks. Firstly, as the reviewer below me said, it really accentuates every single dry spot, and I mean REALLY. Secondly, it creases. Thirdly, the staying power leaves a hell of a lot to be desired - after 3 hours it looks like you never put it on, which is a total pain. I'll keep looking for my HG, but if this is the best there is I would happily repurchase.
Horrible stuff. Probably the most common usage for it is lip balm, but it ends up drying my lips out because they can't breathe. And terrible for the environment to boot! I haven't bought petroleum jelly for years now and don't intend to start again soon.
Styling Products -GHD - Thermal Protector For Normal-To-Fine Hair
cocofabulous 8/28/2008 12:34:00 PM
I received this free with my GHD Styler. I spritz this in my hair, blowdry, and then brush - more hair falls out when I'm using this than if I use nothing at all! I'm talking hundreds and hundreds of hairs. It's horrible, overpriced stuff! Won't purchase.
Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
cocofabulous 8/28/2008 3:43:00 AM
I'm so pleased to see I'm not the only this doesn't work for! I love UD, but sadly this isn't for me. It's the blackest eyeliner I've yet to find & applies like a dream, but smudges like crazy on my eyes :(
Makeup Brushes -Bobbi Brown - Ultra Fine Eye liner brush
cocofabulous 8/26/2008 5:19:00 AM
I got the short travel brush with a 2-set of gel eyeliner. This brush is AWFUL. It started splaying after a few washes & it's now impossible for me to get a line less than half a cm thick no matter how long I spend on it! To top it all off, less than a year of non-daily use and the ferrule has given up meaning that the entire top half of the brush falls off at any given moment. I've had to stick it back on with sellotape! Ridiculous, won't repurchase.
For me this is just an average, does-the-job lip balm. Nothing to go crazy about but quenches dry lips for a while. Would repurchase.
I have piercings & tattoos-a-go-go, and I have NEVER experienced pain like this. I was nearly crying! I had regrowth after a few days & even with daily exfoliation I continued to get ingrown hairs. Days after epilating I still had those little red bumps which are so unattractive! I went back to shaving after a few weeks of trying - I really wanted this to work.
Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Crystal Body Deodorant Stick
cocofabulous 8/15/2008 2:16:00 PM
This did absolutely nothing for me - in fact it seemed to make me smell worse! As someone else noted, when I dampened the stick, the crystal itself stank of B.O.! Did nothing for odour control & at £6 for a deodorant I'll never use it was a total waste of money :(
Offers immediate but not long term relief. As other have said, it leaves a really obvious white tint, so I won't repurchase.
This is a great option if you like the original Palmer's formula but can't bear the smell (a category which alot of MUAers seem to fall in to!) It does have a very slight fragrance that I can quite put my finger on - a bit chemically. It offers the exactly same moisturising but without the original smell. I won't repurchase however as it doesn't leave my skin super silky smooth (call me demanding!)
The cleanser gets rid off every trace of make-up - I actually use it solely as an eye make-up remover it's that gentle, but it does a great job on foundation etc. too. Excellent budget buy. I took away 1 lippy because of the packaging - firstly, it's impossible to get the last lot of product out, and secondly, because I'm a green girl & you CANNOT remove the top to rinse out the bottle for recycling! Already repurchased & will continue to.
Scrubs -Unlisted Brand - Soap and Glory - Spa Sugar Crush
cocofabulous 7/25/2008 3:40:00 AM
Oh my goodness, the smell of this stuff... I must confess, I often open it up in the shower just to take a big sniff of it! Lots of little scrubbies but not too abrasive, and leaves my skin feeling really smooth. You could easily get away with not moisturising afterwards if you wanted. And NO mineral oil! Hooray! :D
This stuff really is incredible. Quenches my dry skin, doesn't break me out, and sinks straight in after a bit of gentle massaging. Originally I thought it was on the expensive side, but it only takes 5-6 drops for my entire face (including eye area), so it lasts a really long time. Will definitely repurchase!
Lotions/ Creams -Soap and Glory - The Righteous Butter
cocofabulous 7/5/2008 11:26:00 AM
I'm really split about this. It does a great job of moisturising, and while at first I thought it was a bit expensive, my 50ml tester pot has lasted ages which makes the price of the full sized pot seem OK. BUT, the smell... as others have said, it's very Miss Dior Cherie-esque. I wear MDC, and this to me smells like a cheap, plasticy version that gives me a mild headache. & it doesn't fade - if I put The Righteous Butter on my hands before bed, I can still smell it when I wake up - great if you love the scent, but for me it's a drawback. I selected that I would repurchase, but only if I was *really* stuck for a moisturiser because I find the smell nauseating!
Conditioner -John Masters - Citrus & Neroli Detangler
cocofabulous 7/5/2008 8:30:00 AM
I got a sample of this, and 10ml lasted me 3 or 4 uses which is great & slightly justifies the price. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me. The packaging said 'great for coloured hair' and that it was suitable for dry hair - both of which I have! It made it a big tangled mess that wasn't at all smooth or shiny when dried. Oh well. If you can get hold of a sample please do, because it seems to work for lots of other ladies and John Masters has really great ethics.
