Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Eden
rated 5 of 5

Used to use the original primer potion - both work for me. This one is a little lighter than my skintone (I'm NC32 very yellow toned) but it's great like a concealer, and my eyeshadows don't crease. I have very oily lids so this is good news for me! Plus the new squeezy bottle is great!

Polishes -China Glaze - Gold Digger

I'm in love with this polish! I do about three coats to get my nail completely covered in those beautiful pale gold glitters. I've been searching for a polish that can replace my Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail polish strips in Glitz Blitz and it's PERFECT. exact dupe and stays on the same amount of time!! My nails LITERALLY chip within a day because I'm "active" and I get my hands dirty alot (yes I apply top coat), but the SH nail strips lasted 2 weeks+ (had to remove because my nail bed was growing out faster than it would come off). And just fyi, one of those weeks was spent roughing it up on a mission trip and doing community service, etc. It literally didn't chip AT ALL, not even the slightest bit. After using this polish, it is still on my ring finger (only applied on one finger) and it's been on for a week. Same as the SH nail polish, versus my usual pet peeve of facing chipped nails, my new pet peeve is the bottom of my nail bed, but I can't do anything about that haha. I guess the glitter just grips especially well, but I love it! I believe it's discontinued, but I'm not sure - I got it on ebay!

Gorgeous white tinted with blue. It goes along with the mint trend but pulls a little more blue than the other mint nail polishes I've tried (Revlons minted, SH Mint sorbet). Love it!

Polishes -China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy

I'm in love! It's summer right now and I'm medium-tanned (NC32, yellow/golden toned).. this is NEON bright & I LOVE it. It's similar to the sinful colors Fusion Neon but more coral, which suits my skintone better since I'm warmer toned. I was (and still am) in love with the SC polish (stocked up on 3 backups in case it ever gets dc), but I'm SO glad I found this. It's even MORE flattering on my skin (the SC is more cool toned) and I just love it! IT's on my toes and nails and I can't stop staring at them :)

Polishes -Sally Hansen - salon effects

I have gold blitz - full on pale gold sparkles - and I am in LOVE. I use this just on my left finger (going with the trend) and it's fantastic. The size isn't perfect but is just a little too small but you can't even tell unless you look closely.. since I plan on using these only for my ring finger I cut the rest of the larger ones (mine was the second smallest so I have all of the rest of them to use in the future) to fit. Application was extremely simple, easy, and fast. Topped it off with a top coat (seche vite) and it has been on for about five days so far with no chipping. That NEVER happens to me as I am extremely "active" and a hands-on girl (always getting down and dirty :P) so I'm SO glad that these have lasted this long.. waiting to see how much longer they last but so far it looks the same as when I first applied minus my nail growing out a little. Also, I think it's interesting that it took people so long to apply this... I'm not a super craftsy person nor am I particularly good with my nails (I'm average), but this was SO simple it's LITERALLY putting a sticker onto your finger.. just peeled both sides and stuck it on then filed it down!

The color pulled more blue on my yellow-toned medium skin.. it applies alright, takes about 2-3 coats.. I got many compliments on it though! Wasn't in love but it's a pretty blue for summer.

I like the color but the application is a bit streaky.. took 3 coats and is a LITTLE streaky still but not too bad (hence the 4 lippies).. the color is fabulous and very similar to the Sinful Colors Fusion Neon.. That one is a lot more bright and truly NEON though.. I use Fusion Neon on my toes and this on my fingers and it looks lovely :)

Eye Makeup Remover -Revlon - eye makeup remover pen
rated 5 of 5
channingto 6/5/2011 2:53:00 AM

I actually love this remover pen! I have 3 and I've been using it for the past 3-4 years (since I started using makeup). I use it mainly for when I need to clean up an eyeliner line if I messed up. I use this and then a tissue or cotton swab to clean away the oil and it's great! Alone, it's not that good because like other people are saying, you're left with some black smudges and the oil. I also use this sometimes to clena up under my eye if I've gone too far down with eyeshadow or liner. As for the dirty tip, I just use a paper towel to wipe it and it works fine. But since I use a q-tip most of the time after I use this, it doesn't matter if there are black smudges because the oil to remove the makeup is still there, so I just wipe it all off whether it be from the eyeliner I just applied or the black smudges that was left on the remover pen.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
channingto 5/26/2011 5:14:00 AM

I love this palette! Yes it is extremely hyped up and on the pricy side, but for GOOD QUALITY Urban Decay eyeshadows, the price is a steal (versus if you were to buy shadows individually from UD). I don't particularly like Sidecar because of the chunky glitter, but if you are careful, you can get by on using it without major fallout, but I'm not much of a glitter girl anyway.. I can say that I"m in love with the rest of the coors.. I sold the brush it came with (second version had brush, rather than the double-ended eyeliner) because I didn't need it.. Great for everyday looks or smokey looks too. Love this palette. 8/21/2011 Still love it, and I use it even MORE now - everyday! Still haven't used sidecar much, but it's okay, I'm in love with everything else. I plan on buying a backup just in case and just to ease my worries, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this palette more and more everyday. On lazy days, I can easily throw on a color all over the lids, put on mascara, and I'm done! I like doing that a lot with Smog - for a light bronzey eye. For super lazy days, I use Naked all over the lid. That color surprised me because I"m fairly tan, so I thought it wouldn't show up, but it's a more cool toned brown so it tones down my very warm skin a lot and shows up as almost a gray-brown (still very much brown). I also love using Gunmetal for smokey looks, the gray-blue is GORGEOUS. Most people use virgin all over the lid or sin, but having a more tan complexion, I think that's too frosty and light on me, but as highlights, they're great.I do wish there was a matte dark brown and matte black included, but I have tons of those, so it's okay - plus, using darkhorse, hustle, or creep in the crease work too. Overall, still digging this palette!

Blush -E.L.F. - Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder
rated 5 of 5
channingto 5/16/2011 2:56:00 PM

I am NC30-35 for reference.. I use the bronzer side for contouring.. when I tried to use it as a bronzer with a blush brush, the color didn't show up very well on me (maybe it was just the brush not being very dense.. but I've used it with other blushes and it works), so I used it with a fluffy eyeshadow (blending) brush (sigma's version of MAC's 224) and it works GREAT for contouring. I'm able to get right in the hollows of my cheekbone but since the brush is fluffy, it blends out easily as well. I don't use the blush much because it hardly shows up and I don't like glitter in my blushes, which this has tons of. My guess would be that the blush would work better for those that are more fair skinned. 10/18/11 I use this EVERY SINGLE DAY now. I use it with my MAC 109 brush to contour/bronze up my face. Sometimes after contouring the hollows of my cheeks, I bring it up to my cheek bones (where I would normally put blush) and use it as a bronzer for color. I don't really use blush at all, and I prefer the look of bronzer so that's what I do. 04/10/12 I still use this EVERYDAY! Sometimes I switch it up with my NYX matte bronzer but I love this thing.. I keep going back to it! I really really wish ELF made this in just a single bronzer pan though.. I still don't use the blush.. ever because it doesn't show up except for the glitter.. I now don't use my MAC 109 brush with this because I had some patchy areas and that brush was too dense to apply the color smoothly/evenly and was harder to blend because it packed on a lot more color. I now use the sigma large angled contour brush F40 for it and I love it! Perfect. (My friend said this duo didn't work for her and gave me hers and I was saving it as a backup but when I swatched it, it had a lot of red undertones in it unlike the brown one I had... So I guess there may be a few duds here and there... but it's $3! I don't mind!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Carbon Black Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner
rated 1 of 5
channingto 5/1/2011 4:40:00 AM

I don't know what it is about this eyeliner and me.. maybe it's just my oily eyelids (but my friend that also has oily eyelids loves this product...), but the consistency is SO watery. Like it applies streakily with gaps because it's so watery (even when I shake it furiously).. Also don't like the shiny finish it gives. Thought I'd gotten a bad batch but I bought this two other times hoping it would work for me, but it didn't. Gave it to my friend after it didn't work for me and it worked great for her, so I guess it's just me...

Polishes -Milani - 89 Disco Lights
rated 4 of 5
channingto 4/15/2011 1:18:00 AM

One of my FAVORITE polish colors and I don't even like pink!! I need two to three coats to get my nails completely covered in glitter, but after that it is GORGEOUS. ONLY gripe with this is getting it off. It was a pain in the butt!!! It took me literally 30-45 minutes trying to get this off. I soakd my nails in remover and then rubbed and got SO frustrated rubbing and the rubbing caused the glitter to damage my nails.. Next time I will soak longer but after that experience I haven't worn it again because I'm a bit scared to... others haven't complained about that so maybe I just need to soak for longer or something.. but otherwise, when it's on, it is beautiful! Got tons of compliments on it too :)

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Smooth Operator Smoothing Lustre Lotion
rated 3 of 5
channingto 4/3/2011 4:56:00 AM

I have stick straight fine hair and I just wanted to put this on my ends.. this really does nothing for me but it doesn't make my hair greasy or anything. Literally does nothing, but the reason I rated it 3 stars is because I still use this becuase I LOVE the smell of this.. so does my boyfriend! I run it through all of my hair and sometimes a little on my neck and hands (as a lotion) and I love it for that! So it's not a five because it didn't do what it was meant to do, but I found a good use for it and i WOULD repurchase because the smell is divine!

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Studio Single Eyeshadow Butter Cream
rated 5 of 5
channingto 4/1/2011 2:23:00 AM

I guess I'm one of the few that like this.. this color is a very pale gold color that I like using as my inner corner highlight and brow highlight. I'm yellow-toned (asian) nc 30 and this works great for me! I find white to be too obvious and often looks chalky. I like subtle highlights, so I think they should match your skintone. It provides a nice sheen with fine shimmer without being too unnatural looking like white does on me. (same concept as using a flesh toned eyeliner versus white if you are darker in complexion. That's just what works for me, plus it's super cheap and nice packaging!

Warmer dupe of OPI's You Don't Know Jacques and extremely similar if not identical to Essie's Hot Coco and Essie's Mink Muffs. I'm in love with brown polishes now and I was worried I'd have to keep buying You Don't Know Jacques which is rather pricy and a little cool for me. This is PERFECT. $1.99 when not on sale and only takes one coat. Gorgeous dark brown color.
