In theory, customizable foundation sounds incredible. And the product itself is amazing. It gives nice coverage and doesn't build up into my forehead lines. The mixing my own stuff just isn't for me. I just don't have the time or maybe my skin is too fickle. I'd do a mix and for two days, it would look amazing and then on the third day, it wouldn't be right. So I'd play again. Maybe it was the power of being able to mix my own, maybe it was just never quite finding the right recipe, but it seemed I was always adjusting it. The product is good: didn't break me out, didn't gunk up into fine lines, gave great coverage. But, I don't have the time in my life to play that much with my foundation.
Generally, the appeal of organic conditioners is that they don't contain silicones, which snap my baby fine hair like a twig. Sadly, this product does contain silicones and does nothing for my easily tangled hair. I've learned when using Avalon conditioners that with organic products, you need to leave it on longer in order for it to work. I left it on for probably 10 minutes and my hair was still a tangled, snarly mess. I've been using my leftovers to shave my legs as that seems to be the best use of it. As far as price, it's cheap for an organic conditioner, and I've learned that you get what you pay for, apparently.
I agree with MsTracy that it reminds me of Clinique Black Honey, though it doesn't turn fuschia on me. When I got this a few years ago, I wasn't impressed for some reason and tucked it away. I got it back out and I'm loving it. It's pigmented so it can be blotted to a nice stain. There are chunks of visible glitter however if that bothers you as a look, but it's not gritty on my lips at all. It doesn't seem drying either. There is a fruity smell/taste that fades fast.
Lip Gloss -Silk Naturals - Kisser Slicker - Hot Blooded

The website description is a "muted wearable red" which is true. My gosh. This is a dream. I have spent years trying to find the perfect red stain. I finally found it. Upon application, it looks as if I used the UD lip stain and then put gloss over it and blotted it. This is a one step stain-like look. In my review for Sugar Plum, I mentioned the "balm/gloss" feeling of the Kisser Slickers. Wow. They are amazing products. As it fades, my lips are still soft and I don't have "ring around the lip" either. I am in love with this product.
Lip Gloss -Silk Naturals - Kisser Slicker - Sugar Plum

Wow. These are a really different lip product. If you look over my reviews, generally I'm all about pigmentation. That's my thing. Always looking for pigment. That's because usually I blot to create a stain. This is my first product ever that I haven't had that urge. It creates a stain-type color without blotting it out. It's wild. It's like the color is just sheer enough that it creates a finished looking lip without blotting. The consistency is lovely as well. It reminds me of all those "balm/gloss" combos but it's more balm-y than glossy. It's not slick as say the Neutragena ones were. Sugar Plum is a mid-tone pink a little on the cool side with a hint of shimmer. The packaging says it's flavored however I can only detect a hint of something sweet before it fades rather quickly. As it fades, it leaves my lips moisturized with a hint of an even stain leftover. If you are at at all interested in lip products, I'd say check out this line. The size is about the same as Burts Bees lip shimmers.
I generally like L'oreal mascaras and I thought the idea of "comes off with just water" sounded wonderful since the removal what I hated about LashBlast. The problem is that while it does come off with warm water. . what you then have are crumbs of mascara all over your face that you then have to get off. I got one of those crumbs accidentally in my eye and it was awful to get out. :( While I am being more careful about taking it off so I don't have a repeat irritation, I would not purchase again.
This color just did not work on me. It's a beautiful frosty lavender, but the base color just isn't dark enough; the lavender becomes a frosty white. I have been making it work by using it to lighten darker colors, but I wouldn't repurchase and I'm glad that they are so inexpensive.
Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - MAD Minerals Spoiled Pigment

This is a fun color. It reminds me of L'oreal's Sea Fleur (which was my nailpolish color when I was a pre-teen). A purple pink with a blue sheen, this is very nice for hazel or green eyes. I'm finding that I love Mad Minerals eye shadows as I don't have to work as hard in application in order to get out the full range of color in the shadows.
For a $1, I took a chance and was really surprised. The color is a shimmery dark rose brown, which on me shows up as a red (but that happens with a lot of browns on me.) It's not glittery at all. It's very pigmented and goes on evenly and smooth. You don't have to work the color to get an even coverage on your lips. The texture is medium. It's not as sticky as MAC lipglass but not as thin as Covergirl Wetslicks. If you blot, you can work it as a stain. The taste reminds me of a cherry tootsie pop (which I think is kinda nice.) It doesn't give me flaky lips either. EDIT: I'm noticing a little leaking around the cap. Yes it's probably a poorly made product, however, I've had Chanel Glossimers do the same thing on me and they are a heck of a lot more expensive and therefore a heck of a lot more annoyed about it.
Styling Products -Garnier - Full Control Hairspray - Strong
boadicea23 10/27/2008 1:43:00 PM
I have the aerosol version. I admit I was intrigued by the round sprayer which is why I bought it. Ack. I have baby fine hair. I have to be careful to only use a tiny amount or else my hair gets goopy and stuck together. It is borderline glue-like. Also, I have to be careful because the aerosol has such force that when the product comes out, my hair moves and then the product lands. I am frightened of what the "ultra strong" version would be on my hair. I wouldn't buy again. Not for baby fine hair. EDIT: Ack. Did not read the packaging well when I bought it. Didn't realize it contained "micro fruit waxes" or "fruit micro waxes" (can't remember what is on it exactly.) I think this is upping my oiliness significantly. I combat the oilies to begin with and this is definitely not helping. I noticed all of a sudden that midway through the day, my hair was looking dirty. I even tried to switch shampoos and it didn't help. Then I read my hairspray. OH MY. I'm throwing it away tonight.
I think my skintones suck the brown out of things. On me, this is a beautiful sparkly purple. No brown or taupe at all. Makes my green eyes look fabulous.
So I was randomly reading reviews for "Best Value" and the review for this popped up. I kept it in mind and I needed a quick pick-me-up the other day. I am sad to report the price is up to $0.98, with tax I paid $1.05. Wow. Amazing stuff. Thick but not sticky (sticky is a pet peeve of mine because it tears up my lips and makes application uneven) this leaves behind a great purple stain. I had no problems getting an even application. A little bit of shimmer without being frosty. The taste is a little overwhelming (I wouldn't recommend to anyone who was sensitive to smells/tastes, etc.) but it makes me happy. The fragrance is like classic grape gum. Sends me right back to 1984.
Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Loose Powder in Daemon's Tail

This is glitter metallic purple on me. I get no burgandy at all. . it's more of a true purple on me. It reminds me of those little Kiddieland motorcycles they have at amusement parks. That's not bad as too much red in a purple can make eyes look tired. Pretty. Interesting. Gorgeous color for hazel or green eyes.
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Eucerin PLUS Intensive Repair Hand Creme
boadicea23 10/10/2008 6:02:00 PM
I got a sample of this on Sunday and I fell in love. I practically went through my sample in a few days. My hands were extremely dry (change in weather and lots of hand washing and dish washing) This makes them so soft and it is truly non-greasy. It absorbs almost immediately. Amazing stuff. I think it's a little expensive given the size of the bottle (I paid almost $5 for it) and judging by how fast I went through the sample, I think I am going to be going through a lot of this during the winter. For how fast it absorbs and how soft my hands are, the price is worth it.
Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Dry Skin Therapy Plus Intensive Repair Body Creme

I got a sample of the hand creme and fell in love. I went to buy a full size and wasn't paying attention and got the body creme instead. YUCK. It's a greasy mess. Just awful. Took forever to absorb. That's when I realized I made a mistake. It's going back.
