I have just purchased a gift set of this. I remember testing this one Christmas whilst doing my Christmas shopping and I was going to buy it for myself! I decided not to but I have thought about buying it ever since. Now I have I think it's not quite how I remember it (but it was quite a while ago!). That's no bad thing though as I am very happy with it. It's flowery but very light, not at all oppressive. I sprayed it on before I went to bed last night and was pleasantly surprised to smell it as I awoke so the lasting power is pretty good which I think is quite rare. It's really good value for money. I bought mine as a gift set because I like to have the whole range if possible, but it's still quite cheap if you buy it on its own. It's nice to have an affordable perfume that smells great in my perfume wardrobe for a change!!

I love perfume and I don't think there are many that I don't like though I do go on and off particular scents sometimes. This is one that I initially loved and then went off. It's been hiding in the back of my cupboard for yonks. I have recently brought it back out. It still smells good and I am loving it. I only have a very little left and am planning to repurchase. I have been complimented on how good I smell when I have worn this. I can understand the comments about the paradoxical nature of this scent. It does have a sharp, cologne-type note, especially at the beginning but I also think it has a feminine softness which lingers. It reminds me of sparkling lemonade. I think this is a sophisticated scent and worth a try to see if it's your sort of thing.

Fragrances -Chanel - Coco Mademoiselle

I LOVE this. It is so beautiful and I am totally addicted. It is expensive but so worth every penny. I bought teh EDP just before my birthday and loved it so much that I put almost the entire bath and body range down on my birthday list! Usually I don't bother with the deoderant etc because they are so expensive and not usually worth it - but this is. Now I have the deoderant and the satin spray. This works for any time of the year, any day of the week and any time of day!

Palettes -NARS - Erotica
rated 3 of 5

As with the Bewitched Lip Lacquer I got this as a present for my birthday yesterday and I was so excited to receive it. I feel really ungrateful as I'm giving this a bad review. I've never had a palette before and I've never really wanted one but I love NARS and this got a pretty good review so I put it on my list. I love reds too and thought it would be a good way to try them out along with some other NARS products. I guess this is okay but I certainly can't see myself buying anything like this in the future. I will probably use it up as I was really pleased to get it. The only thing is I probably won't be buying any of the red lipsticks as a result of this now. The best thing about this palette is probably the eyeshadows, which I thought had a really nice texture and subtle shimmer. The only thing is that they are not very pigmented at all. I think that palettes are probably not the best way to try out a brands products as it seems they only serve to put you off. EDIT I feel I owe it to all NARS fans to say that after giving this a change I am liking it a bit more. I haven't changed the rating though because of the initial disappointment that I felt even though, I too, am a NARS fan. The eyeshadows are still disappointing in the lack of pigment but I quite like the Mauritius blush which I was a bit worried about trying bacause I had a reaction against a No.7 blush stick (but No.7 is a British brand which I personally think is quite poor anyway). But I am pleased that I have come around to liking it a lot more and find myself reaching for it more often than I thought I would.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Lip Lacquer in Bewitched
rated 2 of 5

I love NARS and I received this as a present for my birthday (which was yesterday!) I had this down on my list along with Baby Doll, Hot Wired and Galactica. I got this one and I was so excited to try it out this morning. And the verdict is...I'm a little disappointed with it. The texture is not as great as I had hoped and the colour is nothing overly special. It's nice and I'm grateful to have received it but I wouldn't buy it. The shame about it that this is my first lip lacquer and I'm a little reluctant to try other shades now. Apparantly Baby Doll is really nice and my sister was going to buy this one for me initially but they were out of it. I'm contemplating taking the lip lacquers off my list now...

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Glimmer in Nude Beach

I also have this in 1980s and although I rate this is better than 1980s I still would not recommend these eyeshadows. Maybe I chose two rubbish colours that donothing for me, but I find that these don't go on evenly. This colour is not bad as a highlighter but I'm sure there are much much better options. I don't like wastage so I blend this with blush sometimes. I will not buy these again though.

I love this. This fragrance really stands out for me. I think this is a versatile scent that would be great as both a summer and winter perfume. I will buy it over and over without a doubt.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Gloss- A Nibble of Nuts-123
rated 1 of 5
beckibear 6/5/2006 12:36:00 PM

I wanted to like this but I was not that impressed with the colour. I think this colour is for darker skin tones. I thought it would be a beigey/nude colour but it is gold and looks so nasty and tacky against my pale skin. The consistency isn't that great either and the smell/taste is just YUCK! I hate to waste it though so somethimes slick it over lipstick and blot to make the colour less strong for those subtle makeup days. Maybe if I had tried a diffrent colour this would have been a different story, but I feel a little put off with this product now and probably won't be trying it again in the near future.

Bath Treatments -Ren - Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil
rated 5 of 5
beckibear 6/1/2006 4:18:00 PM

I like REN products and I especially like their Bath Oils. My favourite is the Apricot and Peach Kernal as it's so moisturising. This one is okay too, though I don't seem to find it quite as moisturising and I don't like the smell as much. It's an expensive treat, but we're worth it, girls (and boys too)!

Lip Gloss -Stila - Lip glaze

I wish I could like these because the colours look really good. I have two of these and I am not impressed with themat all. For the price they are just not worth it. I find the Ruby and Millie version of these glosses much better, though the colours are limited. For some reason it seems to take a long time for the gloss to come up so I end up twisting the base a number of times and then loads of it comes out! Basically you need patience with these! I also find the pigmentation on my lips poor and the texture nasty. I don't mind putting up with the different textures for a lovely gloss but this doesn't qualify I'm afraid. It seems to leave a stange and uncomfortable sensation on my lips too. Probably won't bother buying any more of these.

Lipstick -Chanel - Hydrabase Lipstick in Pirate
rated 5 of 5
beckibear 6/1/2006 3:51:00 PM

I have been on a quest to find a beautiful red lip colour to suit me. I had been looking at blue based reds and true reds as I believe I am cool toned. After much deliberation, (and also because I had the matching nail colour) I went for this. Initially when I tried it I felt disappointed and thought it didn't suit me at all. This is a very vibrant true red colour and I think you need to be quite bold to wear it, as with most true red lipsticks. So after getting over the initial shock (I'm not quite sure what I was expecting anyway - I did want a true red!) I find myself wearing this quite a lot of the time. I tone it down with lipgloss for the day, and if I want I can really vamp it up for night.

Cleansers -Eve Lom - Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
beckibear 6/1/2006 3:41:00 PM

This is a lovely cleansing balm. It is outrageously expensive but I think it's worth it. I got a 100ml pot and a muslin cloth as part of a gift set for Christmas. A little goes a long way and if you like to take care and time to follow the instuctions and really indulge in your cleansing routine then the results speak for themselves. I don't use it every day because it's so expensive, (even though as I said a little goes a long way) and I save it for days when I'm wearing full makeup because it really gets rid of all traces of makeup. If you can afford it I would recommend you try it.

Love it. Does what it says. Highlights beautifully. I find it also covers blemishes quite well too.

Fragrances -J. Lo - Miami Glow
rated 5 of 5
beckibear 6/1/2006 10:55:00 AM

I love this but it doesn't seem to have much staying power. I don't know if staying power is improved by using the lotion as well, but it's a lovely summery scent. I can't seem to buy it readily now though and wonder if it has been discontinued. I hope not.

Makeup Brushes -Japonesque - Kabuki Brush
rated 5 of 5
beckibear 6/1/2006 10:53:00 AM

When I got this brush I thought it looked small and thought it would be useless. When I started using it I found out it was pretty much perfect. I use this to apply both blush and powder. You can use this brush wthout fear that you will get a stripe of colour as the design is such that you get a good coverage that looks natural and stunning. If I ever need to, I would definitely buy this again. Highly recommended.
