Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Schick Hydro Silk Razor
rated 3 of 5

I think this is supposed to be an improvement on the Schick Intuition, which is the women's razor that is sort of set into a cake of soap. I really liked that thing for a while, but after a while it gets messy and is more expensive than I think it's worth. This is an okay product, but really I prefer my Gillette Fusion ProGlide. It's a men's product but it feels solid and I only have to go over my legs once. I had to shave my legs twice to remove all the stubble with this thing, and it feels light. I got this for free at CVS. A $10 coupon came out of the red box scanner and I had a coupon from the paper. Regular price was $14 for the razor and two heads which I think is too expensive. My ProGlide was $10 and it also had two heads. Just because it's aimed at women, companies charge more for the same thing.

Top/Base Coats -Revlon - colorstay top coat
rated 3 of 5
ayngemac 4/23/2013 4:25:00 PM

I am crazy about the Colorstay base coat. It's my Holy Grail. Since CVS was having a sale, I gave this a shot. Eh. Nothing special. It doesn't dry quickly, and it doesn't dry my polish, and it didn't make any difference in the endurance of my manicure. Will not repurchase.

Polishes -Revlon - Scented - Bubble Gum #360
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/23/2013 2:08:00 PM

Even though this color is not original, I'm giving it a 5. It's just perfect. The color is a vivid hot pink, but not neon, so it's not going to blind you. Application was fantastic: smooth and even. It dried fast, and it's a one coater! I especially love the plasticky, shiny finish after it dried. Yes, it does smell like bubble gum too. If only Revlon could make mascaras as good as their nail polishes....

Polishes -Revlon - Ritzy
rated 3 of 5
ayngemac 4/22/2013 2:44:00 PM

I have to admit I only bought this for the novelty factor. CVS had a great Revlon sale last week, and I had coupons to burn so I picked this up because it was so different. This polish has fine silver glitter and larger silver hex glitter suspended in a black jelly. If you love glitter, you'll probably like this. I'm sort of off it right now because it's such a PITA to remove. I put it over my purple mani as a top coat and it transformed my look. Application is smooth and it dried relatively quickly.

Conditioner -Finesse - Finesse Touch of Yardley Lavender
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/22/2013 2:40:00 PM

Excellent conditioner. I'm not exactly crazy about the scent of lavender, but it's pretty subtle. I didn't use very much, but this really tamed my frizz and made my hair soft. Lots of body and shine this morning. I felt like I was in a shampoo ad. I got this at CVS for .49 cents after my coupon. Can't beat that deal with a 10 foot pole.

Shampoo -Finesse - Finesse Touch of Yardley Lavender
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/22/2013 2:38:00 PM

I couldn't pass up this deal at CVS. This was on sale for $1.49 and I had a $1 coupon so I picked it up. Well, the lavender scent is subtle which is fine, but this did a great job of cleansing without stripping. It lathered like crazy. And this morning my hair just had tons of volume and felt and looked really smooth and shiny. I have at least a dozen bottles of high end shampoos (Nexus, Rusk, etc) and none of them work this well.

Polishes -FingerPaints - Divinely Deranged
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/22/2013 2:32:00 PM

Not exactly original, but it's a beautiful deep rich purple. Makes me think of the Lakers. It's a two-coater. Application was smooth and the dry time was average.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers - Emerald Girl
rated 3 of 5

I love the metallic foresty green of this shadow, but it's almost useless without primer. It just does not show up on its own. I put it over black eyeliner for a cool jolt of jade.

Lipstick -Milani - Sweet Nectar
rated 5 of 5
ayngemac 4/20/2013 2:55:00 PM

Never in my life have I worn orange lipstick. NEVER. Not even in the 80's when I was a child playing with makeup. But recently I saw it in a magazine and it just looked so cool and amazing on all the models, one of which had my Asianish complexion (NC42). So ever since I've been looking around for one. This one is very orange. It's part of the new Milani revamped line. Good pigmentation, smooth application, and it smells sooooo yummy!! Like Japanese candy. And it looks really pretty. Okay, it's kind of jarring, but it's not like when I try to work pink lipstick and I look like a whore. I can actually pull off orange lipstick. I got this at CVS on sale for $3.69, plus they give you a $2 ECB.

Polishes -Revlon - Scented - Mad About Mango #355
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/20/2013 2:49:00 PM

Wow! This is just so stunning. It's a vivid crème coral, and it really does smell like mangos when it dries. Personally, I think it's kind of dumb for polish to be scented. I have never once sniffed my nails and thought, "Gee, wouldn't it be great if my tips smelled like fruit?" On the other hand, how amazing would it be if Kleancolor polishes smelled like candy instead of a hazmat spill? Anyway, this is a 2-coater, but it's not exactly original, and a full hour after I polished my nails, I made the mistake of scratching my leg and I smudged it! There is a great deal at CVS this week: all Revlon is BOGO 1/2 off. I got four polishes for $18, minus 4 CVS Revlon coupons, and a bonus $3 off $15 worth of cosmetics, PLUS a $5 ECB, so really they were free after sales tax.

Eyeliner -Revlon - REVLON COLORSTAY CRÈME GEL EYE LINER (all colors)
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/20/2013 2:44:00 PM

Not exactly spectacular, but I really like this product. I think the design is really cool, since you always have the brush contained in the package, however, it's just about impossible to get a fine line--for me anyway. I only managed to get thick bold lines with this. The formula sets and lasts, but it's not as good as the Colorstay liner in the pencil form. It's not as black and it just doesn't set as well. Still, this is easy to use and it's reasonably priced. I picked this up at CVS for about $4 after the sale and coupons. Regular price was $10.89.

Pressed Powders -New York Color - Pressed Translucent Powder
rated 4 of 5
ayngemac 4/19/2013 3:40:00 PM

I love this powder. Too often I've bought "translucent" powder and it goes on too chalky and light on my NC42 complexion. This one mattifies my oily skin and blends right in without making me pale. Plus it's so cheap! Love it!

Eye Makeup Remover -Almay - Moisturizing eye makeup remover liquid
rated 2 of 5
ayngemac 4/18/2013 3:40:00 PM

Since this stuff is so oily, it should remove eye makeup easily, but it takes a lot of rubbing and scrubbing to get all my mascara off. Not impressed at all with this. Ponds cold creams works better, and is cheaper. Also, I hate the lid. You have to push down and twist to get it off, like rx bottles, and the bottle has a huge mouth. It's too easy to knock over and spill. This was $6.49 for 4 oz at CVS, but it's on sale this week and with the coupon you can get two for $2.

Cleansers -Almay - Make up remover towelettes
rated 2 of 5
ayngemac 4/18/2013 3:33:00 PM

Not impressed with these at all. Huggies wipes work way better, and they were designed to clean up babies. These towelettes are expensive ($6.49 for 25 at CVS), and they don't really work unless I add liquid remover to them, which sort of defeats the purpose. I may as well just use cotton balls. I gave them a shot since they were on sale this week and I had a coupon (BOGO 1/2 off, plus $4 off at CVS). In the future I'll stick to Huggies wipes which are a way better deal ($2 for 72 at Target), and I don't have to add anything to them.
