Mascara -Max Factor - 2000 Calorie Mascara

Ehh, this mascara is ok. I like that it gives good volume (one of the better ds versions I've tried), but it dries out too quickly for me. I also find that I get a better desired look if I apply define-a-lash volume as a second coat. Plus IIRC, MF still tests on animals :( Won't repurchase, as Maybelline Colassol Volum works better for me ATM. Still in search of HG, though.

The BEST nail color in the free world! For the MAC heads, this is Cool Heat e/s for your tips and toes. I have never been so infatuated with a nail polish ever! I want to wear it everyday for the rest of my life, even though I know my other fave colors would feel lonely. I too think that anyone can wear this shade--I am an golden/olive skin tone (C8). Definite re-purchase.

Cleansers -Origins - Checks and Balances
rated 2 of 5

This was great till they changed the formula--although I really do appreciate that they removed the shellfish based glucosamine for veggie-friendly tourmaline--they should have just replaced it with manufactured glucosamine so that the product would still work! I hate when companies screw up a perfect product. Never again will I use this. Way drying now.

Lotions/ Creams -Origins - A Perfect World body cream
rated 4 of 5

OMG I used this back when it first came out (when I worked for the company). It (plus the now discontinued pomegranate scrub) completely eradicated my painful eczema. I think I will go back and buy some, years (and crappy bottles of drug store lotions) later. For those who think it smells like cat pee, it is your natural body chemistry changing it. I had a co-worker at the Origins store who would literally apply it on the spot and it changed from the jar to on her skin from delicious to disgusting. Oh well. Great for excessively dry skin.

Top/Base Coats -Orly - Orly Won't Chip- Polish Shield
rated 2 of 5
artemis513 1/18/2009 5:47:00 PM

Should be called "Will Chip" or "Crappy Chip". I used this for years thinking that my nails sucked. The consistency of the bottle when you first buy it tricks you, and the cool handle. Didn't realize it was this TC. Next day chipping and peeling. I appreciate what Orly was trying to do with this TC (w/the polymers) but...they failed. Won't repurchase anymore.

Styling Products -TiGi - Spoil Me
rated 4 of 5
artemis513 1/12/2009 2:40:00 PM

I actually really like this product. It's really good for smoothing out 2nd and 3rd day hair. Nice smell. Good amount of product for the money. I have fine textured hair, chemically relaxed. My hair feels soft after using and it made restyling very enjoyable. Will repurchase if I ever run out. Will update later if things change.

I get lots of compliments at the office with this one. Really nice neutral for all skin tones imo. I'm NC45/C7/C8, and it's gorgeous on me.

Conditioner -Joico - Daily Care - Leave-In Detangler
rated 5 of 5
artemis513 12/30/2008 11:46:00 AM

Definite re-purchase. Maybe it's because my hair is already spoiled by Joico products, but this leave-in is perfect for my hair. I get softness and strength, a little volume and shine. Love it forever.

Shampoo -Kenra - Dandruff Shampoo
rated 1 of 5
artemis513 12/30/2008 11:37:00 AM

Horrible, horrible. It dried my hair out and made it tangly almost immediately, and my hair is never tangled. My scalp was itchy and miserable. I returned this the next day.

Conditioner -Kenra - Lightweight leave-in conditioner
rated 4 of 5
artemis513 12/30/2008 11:34:00 AM

This is just a basic spray leave-in for me. Doesn't weigh fine hair down, though, so that's good. Smell was really nice. Won't repurchase becase the low-end version of this is the exact same ingredients for more than 1/2 the price (Elasta QP H-two--at Sally's). Anyways, I prefer Joico Daily Care Detangler leave-in. Update 11/16/10: I don't know how, but I have gone through 3 bottles of this leave-in this past 11 months. I am currently growing out a chemical relaxer and this has been my go-to detangler spray when prepping my hair for blowdrying/heat straightening. So I have to change the lippies because between this (a little more moisture) and the Joico detangler (which has a little more protein), my hair has been stress-free.

Shampoo -Kenra - Moisturizing shampoo
rated 3 of 5
artemis513 12/30/2008 11:29:00 AM

Decent basic shampoo for those who want to use a milder sulfate shampoo to use on a regular basis and have color-treated or chemically-treated hair. Leaves hair soft and clean, and you don't need much product for a lather. I've not yet crossed over to sulfate-free shampoo products, and this is gentle enough that I don't think I will need to. I am saying I would repurchase this, but realistically I have way too many shampoos to use up before I'll get to do so.

Conditioner -Kenra - Moisturizing Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
artemis513 12/30/2008 11:22:00 AM

Pretty decent moisturizing conditioner, good for my chemically treated (relaxed, colored) 3c/4a hair. When I first purchased this, I was not able too use it often, as it was too moisturizing (was using as a deep conditioner too often). My hair is very fine and can become too elastic very easily, which can cause damage as a previous reviewer stated. I now use it as a basic rinse out conditioner a few times a month, alternating with PM Super Strong or Joico K-pak. I am saying I will repurchase, but as a product junkie looking for her next hot product fix, don't know how soon that will be, lol. Update 3/12/2011: My hair is no longer relaxed and is now in its natural tight curly/coily textured (3c/4a) state. This conditioner has become a mainstay in my routine now. Maintains so much moisture and manageability of my hair, I don't want to use any other conditioners at the moment. Gets better and better every time I use it. Will continue to purchase.

Treatments -L'anza - Healing Moisture Noni Fruit Detangler
rated 1 of 5
artemis513 12/28/2008 7:00:00 PM

I normally love L'anza, but this product was not worth the heavy price tag. I also have the Tamanu cream shampoo and the Kukui Nut conditioner, and those are awesome, but this felt like I was just spraying nice smelling water over my hair. Wasn't detangling, wasn't moisturizing. I returned it. Will not repurchase.

Treatments -Joico - K Pak Strengthening Tonic
rated 5 of 5
artemis513 12/28/2008 6:09:00 PM

This is now called K-pak Liquid Reconstructor. I love this for my fine hair. It is comparable to the Deep Penetrating Reconstructor and I use it at least 1x/week. I have chemically relaxed and color-treated hair. Less damage and breakage. Soft, strong, shiny hair. Will definitely repurchase again and again.
