Treatments -La Mer - The Lifting Serum and The Lifting Intensifier
rated 4 of 5

The La Mer SA gave me a mini set to sample and I am hooked. I am turning 24 and have found one or two fine lines beneath my eyes. I think the old version serm is better than this serum but both rocks and hydrates my skin very well. I only apply the Lifting Intensifier for the fine lines beneath my eyes and the lines, surprisingly seems fading. I would like to try the Concentrate next as it is designed for fragile and sensitive skin.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer
rated 1 of 5
annelau 8/23/2006 4:00:00 AM

I have tried a lot of skincare products and cannot help to try the famous La Mer. I think it is a good moisturizer with good claming effect. I disagree it is a normal moisturizer because you will have less breakout in the long run and will have healthy glow. However, I do not see other improvement such as more even tone etc. And for this price, I definitely have higher expectations and I prefer other products such as Sisleya. Another downside is you need quite a lot of product for each application which means 30ml jar will last few months only if you use it as night cream. Not a bad one but there are more outstanding products which deliver even better results like Cdp and Sisley. (UPDATE 16/10/2006 After few months using La Mer as night cream, my skin seems very thirsty inner, and has some little white bumps ... which may leave me scar ... sad ... I am returning to Sisley and bought Sisleya Antiage Extra, it's amazing. I have learnt my lesson and shall stay away from La Mer. I went to the spa to have special facial treatment, and the girl told me she once bought La Mer and it gave her bumps, too. Perhpas it's just not for Asian girls. Anyway, it's not my sup of tea.)

Masks -Annick Goutal - Masque Splendide
rated 5 of 5

I adore this mask, from the package which is truly romantic, to the scent which is refreshing perfect rose note, to the product itself - which is transparent light pink gel. I have very sensitive and normal-to-dry skin. I use this mask as emergency mask and after 20 minutes, my dull skin would be 'woken up'. I also use it as night cream and viola, my skin looks brightened, fresh, poreless and hydrated. I think it is even better than Sisley Express Flower Gel. Well, I like them both. Highly recommend it to people who like skincare made with rose. You will never be disappointed!

Scrubs -Fancl - Body Puff

I love this cutie puff. The mild exfoliation it gives definitely helps to reduce bumps and spots. It costs around HKD70 in Hong Kong and I believe it must be cheaper in Japan.

Lip Treatments -Sisley - Nutritive Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
annelau 7/7/2006 1:46:00 AM

One of my favourite lip treatment products! I love using it before bedtime. It will give me soft and smooth lips in the morning. The only thing I do not like is the texture - too sticky. Sisley does include a small 'spoon' for user to take out the right amount of product, but I wonder who bother bringing that around. I also like La Mer but you need very thick layer to do the track. By using Sisley, a thin layer would be good enough. I also use it during long haul flights and trust me, it never disappoint me!

Lip Treatments -La Mer - Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5

My lips peel badly last month, so I bought this lip treatment and had high hope. Well, it saved my lips - stopped peeling, moisturized and nourished deeply. I usually dip this amount (o) by my finger, then apply thick layer to my lips evenly. I tried to apply thinner layer and it did nothing at all.

Masks -Clarins - Extra-Firming Facial Mask
rated 5 of 5
annelau 5/30/2006 2:36:00 AM

Most Clarins products are quality. Recently, I purchased the moisture mask and the SA gave me 15ml GWP. I tried this last night and went to bed at 0.30. When I woke up in the morning at 6.30. Voila! I still had baby soft and lovely well pampered skin. No late night signs at all! I love it and would definitely purchase and repurchase. I have very sensitive combination skin. I have tried many brands, from low end to high end such as Neutrogena, Kanebo, Shiseido, Sisley, La Prairie, Annick Goutal, Clinique, EL, Bloom etc and the top five masks on my list are LP Balancing Mask, Fresh Sugar Polish, Sisley Express Flower Gel, Clarins Gentle Smoothing Mask and Clarins Extra-Firming Mask. Highly recommend this mask to anyone who need serious treatment.

Treatments -Chanel - Hydramax + Sérum
rated 3 of 5

It hydrates well at first but the effect isn't very long lasting. It gives me pump up baby soft skin in the morning and I noticed few dry lines after lunch. Not very impressed.

Scrubs -Fresh - Sugar Face Polish with Strawberries
rated 5 of 5
annelau 1/29/2006 3:12:00 AM

I am in my early twenties and have very sensitive and dehydrated skin, thanks to the cold air-con of the office, so I constantly search for quality effective skincare. I do not use it as scrub. I apply thin layer all over my face, avoid skin near my eyes for 10 minutes, then gently massage with warm water. Then my dull skin will look so bright, smooth and poes are tightened. It is not moisturising but very nourishing and has great brightening effect. It is one of my favourite masks. I love applying moisturizing mask afterwards and my skin will be so radiant and gorgeous! I keep repurchasing it and also La Prairie Balancing Mask and Sisley Express Flower Gel.

Scrubs -Bliss Labs - Hot Salt Scrub
rated 5 of 5
annelau 1/29/2006 3:08:00 AM

It is very impressive. I use the Super-Eucalyptus Smoother first and then apply thin layer of Hot Salt Scrub on 'strong problem' skin. After few minutes, the salt seems dissolved and I use a facial brush to massage my skin and viola, I get baby soft skin. I notice it helps to reduce those stubborn bumps (I think its short form is 'KP'?), too. I will definite repurchase, it is reasonably priced - half price of Fresh and even cheaper than Body Shop African Scrub in Hong Kong. I only dislike the package which is a jar. I nearly dropped the whole jar on the floor last time (!).

Cleansers -Kose - Cosme Decorte AQ Gentle Washing Foam
rated 5 of 5
annelau 1/25/2006 1:48:00 AM

I have sensitive normal-to-dry skin. I tried Clinique, Lancome, Sisley, La Prairie, Shiseido, Clarins, Fancl and Menard foaming cleanser and I like this AQ Washing Foam and Menard Washing Foam most. This product has superior cleansing effect but never dry out my skin. It gives me crystal clear and very clean and smooth skin and prepares my skin for other skincare steps. HKD570 sounds ridiculous but you get 200 ml product that comes in pump bottle.

Sunscreen -Sisley - Botanical Sunblock SPF 20
rated 5 of 5
annelau 6/15/2005 3:31:00 AM

this sunblock is quite moisturizing and gives suprisingly high coverage (!!). It gives complete coverage imo. I apply La Prairie De-sensitizing Serum underneath formore moisture. It's a great tinted moisturizer but I hope Sisley would put it in a pump jar rather than in tube.

Lip Gloss -Becca - Mimosa
rated 5 of 5
annelau 6/12/2005 10:51:00 PM

Mimosa is dark golden peach shade. It is buildable. You can apply one coat to go with peack blushes or more coats for more delicious look. I like Becca lipglosses very much. You may think most shades are just brown, peack, red or pink but they all look very good on our lips. I can't take those lipglosses which look blue or green, yuk.

Crème -Stephane Marais - cream foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
annelau 6/12/2005 10:45:00 PM

After reading the review of Candy_Highbeam, I rush to Joyce Beauty and bought a jar of this for myself. I found O10 is my perfect match (Cle de peau PO10, BB Warm Ivory, Chantecaille stick foundation Cream). It is a neutral shade and that's what exactly what I need. It delivers what Candy_Highbeam says - airbrush look. And I agree, it's even better than Cdp, La Priaire, Bobbi Brown, Nina Ricci, YSL, Chantecaille and a lot more affordable, too, just HKD390 (around USD50) and with 10% off discount for Joyce Beauty VIP. Oh, it also matches the shade of my Chantecaille concealer in Cream. I am a happy girl !

Crème -Chantecaille - Future Skin
rated 3 of 5
annelau 6/12/2005 10:35:00 PM

I have heard so much raves about this. I found it hard to blend and too sheer. For those who do not need any coverage, you may like this. But again, if coverage is not what you want, why not skip this??!! I like Chantecaille concealer and stick foundation very much, but not this one.
