I'm a nail polish junkie, and to find something this awesome at $1.99 you can't go wrong! Especially since drugstores tend to always have some kind of sale once a month on Wet n Wild products you can probably find this at .99 cents! My only issue with this polish is it is very sheer, but nothing that can't be fixed with another polish being layered under neath. My favorite is Love & Beauty (Forever 21s brand) light grey with this on top. This would be nice with a glitter top coat too! There is a bunch of possibilities with this polish!
Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Firecracker (Summer 2010)
alyssa18o6 1/17/2011 10:16:00 PM
I purchased this during the infamous CVS beauty clearance sale. I believe I paid under $2, or a bit over $2, definitely less then $3. I read the reviews before I tried it out and I was a tad bit nervous because the reviews weren't as good as I was hoping they'd be. Definitely super impressed! In the tube this looks like an opaque tomato red. But it's definitely super sheer! For me though, it's perfect. I always wanna try bits of red but red lipstick is a bit too dramatic for me, so this being sheer is perfect. I wanna head over to CVS and pick up another cause i'm not sure if this color is being discontinued? I'm assuming it's just over stock, cause I know this was a LE item from the summer. If you haven't checked out a CVS recently do it cause they have a TON of products on sale from 50%-75% off!
Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil in Pure Gold
alyssa18o6 1/8/2011 8:32:00 PM
i purchased this the other day because i tend to wear alot of more gold shadows and thought this would be a nice base. my favorite combination is this as a base, and NYX champagne eyeshadow on top. i haven't found this to crease as other people say they do. i paid $1.99 for this, and i definitely think it's worth it.
Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Baked Collection- Baked Sugar
alyssa18o6 1/8/2011 8:29:00 PM
this is the second "baked" palette that I have purchased from Physicians Formula. the first one was the "baked smokes" trio, which is the black, grey and white version. i hated it, even wet the colors were horrible. this one i like a little more, but still don't think the pigmentation is as good as it could be. I love the medium brown shade, it's a perfect neutral everyday shade. I paid under $2 for this at CVS, during their clearance sale. I used this with two faced shadow insurance, and NYX milk jumbo pencil. it helped, and it lasted all day.
carmex is probably my favorite HG product ever. i use it almost every day! i usually buy the cherry or strawberry versions because i hate the smell of the original. but you can't go wrong with carmex. i've never ever had a problem it couldn't fix. super cheap too, only $1!!
Tinted Moisturizer -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer spf15
alyssa18o6 1/6/2011 5:49:00 PM
I purchased this during the summer, and took it on vacation with me. I've used other tinted moisturizers in the past, and I do like this. The staying power isn't the best, so I have to take one star off. The coverage is very good for a drugstore product. The product contains SPF, and you can smell a hint of it in the product. The bottle is a squeeze tube, and i've heard others complain about separation but I didn't notice any of that. The price is good, under $10. There is only I believe 3 color selections, I believe i'm the 2nd color? I think it's called tan, I can't remember. I definitely recommend checking this out if your in the market for a tinted moisturizer, for the price it's definitely worth trying out and you may fall in love!
Scrubs -Clean & Clear - Morning Burst In-Shower Facial
alyssa18o6 10/24/2010 10:01:00 PM
I cant honestly say that this product helps me with my blackheads, but it definitely helps for exfoliation, and my skin feels amazing when i'm finished. I love the scent of it, especially first thing in the morning. I always use this in the morning before work while i'm in the shower. I wet my face, apply this and then go on with washing my hair. Then I rub it in a little to activate the exfoliation, and then rinse. I then apply moisturizer after I have dried my face then go on with my makeup routine. I love this product, what it does and the price. I love when skin care items can be purchased at drugstores because they are always available which makes it nice.
I recieved the small container in a BeneFit sample pack this summer, it close me $14 for 3 products, and I alone would of paid that for this product. I used to love Two Faced Shadow Insurance but i'm sold on this. The small packaging includes a doe foot applicator for the product. I know the bigger packaging has a pump which you pump the product onto your finger/brush. I apply one swipe to each eyelid and spread it. This keeps my shadows on all day and helps fight aganist creasing. It's also good under the eye area for concealer. I definitely recommend this and when my sample runs out i'll definitely purchase the full size.
Eyeliner -Rimmel - Exaggerate Full Colour Eye Definer - Noir
alyssa18o6 10/24/2010 9:14:00 PM
I have used this liner for years, and I always seem to go back to it. It's perfect for use on the waterline, as i've experienced the least amount of smudging with this product.I usually purchase this at Walmart because it's one of the only places that carry it around me, and it's under $5. Which I think is a steal for this product and the quality, This glides on smooth with no tugging and lasts the whole day. The color is a deep dark black. I recommend this to anyone wanting a nice eyeliner for a decent price.
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
alyssa18o6 10/24/2010 9:10:00 PM
Purchased this after a while, I was hesitant to try it as I had already had a few gel liners that had seem to dry out super fast and wasn't sure I wanted to waste almost $10 for another pot of black dried out liner. The best thing about this is thtat the brush that comes with the product is actually decent, i've been using it to apply the liner since I purchased. The product itself is a deep black, creamy gel liner. It applies easily, and lasts all day. I do notice a little bit of smudging on the water line however. I use this to line the top and bottom of my eye. I've had this for maybe a month and it has no signs of drying out yet. Its alot better then the Wet N Wild version, which I ADORED at first but it seemed to dry out after awhile. Hopefully this one lasts longer. I heard it be compared to MACs fluidline, which i've never used so I can't really compare them personally.
Highlighters -Clinique - Up-lighting Liquid Illuminator - Blush
alyssa18o6 10/24/2010 2:43:00 PM
I got this free in one of the Clinique GWP deals. I chose the illuminator shade over the bronze. This is a liquid products, and it comes with a pump which makes it nice so you don't waste product. It's a perfect champagney shimmery color. I use this on my cheek bones and it gives a nice "candlelight" effect. I don't think i'll need to purchase this cause there is a ton in my sample. But when it comes time, I'll purchase the full size. I definitely recommend the product, i'm not sure how good the bronze is, but I love the illuminator. Sometimes I top this with MAC's Petticoat MSF just to keep it on longer, but even without the powder on top it lasts. I've considered mixing this in with my foundation to see how it works but I just haven't yet. Probably more for summer then winter. I'm not even sure how much the price of this is, cause I didn't purchase it. So i'm not sure exactly how that ranks.
I have been wanting to try this shadow for awhile, I finally picked it up when Rite Aid was having their 40% off Wet N Wild sale. It's definitely worth the price. The pigmentation very amazing for the price. It's a soft taupe brown, it has a good amount of frost, but not extremely frosty. I wanna try the rest of the shadows now because i'm curious about their quality. Do I think this shadow compares to MACs Satin Taupe? Yes. But I don't think the quality is as good as MAC, maybe just a little bit under. But definitely worth $3. I used this a few days in a row because it's perfect on it's own when you're in a hurry. I definitely recommend purchasing this.
I bought this because Wet N Wild products were 40% off at Rite Aid. I figured having an extra brush laying around wasn't a bad idea. However the brush itself is horrible, it's harsh and it smells horribly. I wouldn't recommend this brush to anyone, you can find good quality brushes for a few dollars more on Coastal Scents, and even at Target.
Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
alyssa18o6 10/24/2010 1:53:00 PM
I've used the Dream Matte Mousse foundation for years, and just finally got around to purchasing the concealer. First, I always buy my foundation shade from the "medium" selection, and I purchased the "medium" concealer as well, and it was wayyy to dark and orange. I should of got the "light" concealer. I can still use it, just lightly. This concealer gives very good coverage. Perfect for blemishes and under eye darkness. I usually use the Clinique Advanced concealer, but this is very similar in quality for me. This can be found at any drugstore which is nice because it's readily available anywhere. The price is decent as well, I believe I paid around $8 compared to $14. I do find the packaging to be a bit un-sanitary. I don't like the fact that you contaminate the entire container every time you use your finger/brush. I guess if you use a spatula and take a little out each time you'd be fine.
Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
alyssa18o6 10/24/2010 1:48:00 PM
I bought a few of these lip glosses to try awhile ago. This color has to be my favorite. The color itself is a nice light peachy/pink nude color. It's super pigmented for being a drugstore gloss. The texture isn't sticky which is the biggest turn off for me when it comes to glosses. The packaging is nice, it's similar to Dior glosses. The price isn't bad, it's under $10. It's still a big pricer for drugstore products, but for the quality its good. I definitely will pick up others when I find colors that I like.
