this is a matte color, and since i didnt have alot of matte colors, and i am into wearing more neutrals now when i actually wear makeup, this seemed like a good buy. I wore it to church this past sunday along with time share for a blush and a lite nude lipgloss, it was very nice and subtle. Very appropriate for a work setting as well, when you dont want to overdo it too much. very easy to blend and was a fast application for a nice look.
I bought a "sample" size of this the other day at Ulta along with 2 smashbox shadows and a lipgloss. I had never ever tried anything from smashbox as I am partial to everyday minerals and have been wearing that brand all year long. I used it yesterday and it was okay. I will use it again on occassion, as I do not wear foundation everyday, maybe only 1x a week so the small tube will last me quite a while. It did make my skin silky, but i have tried using "monostat" chafing gel before this and it basically works the same with the same results. (i read about using the monostat stuff on mua about a year ago and its under $10 for a big tube that I have had for over a year and have not ran out of) I did not break out, not did it give me a negative reaction (so far). Just isnt worth the price for this, because even though it made my eyeshadow not crease and it looked nice on, my nose still got shiny and oily as usual, which is my problem area. oh well - i will not buy again
This is really an interesting color. Which is why I bought it in the sample size. I love edm and have not been disappointed with too many products and i have a lot! i really like this color. Its kind of orangy but still wearable and has lots of shimmer to it. Do not apply with a heavy hand like i did last weekend. I sat there in front of my mirror and tried to blend, even adding a little more foundation, but nope, it was there to stay - thank heavens we were going to a night event outside and its a light color. The only downside is that - kind of hard to blend out. I was just in a hurry and made an oops which i will never make again with this blush - overall a really neat color.
I have the small sample/purse size that i got from target a few weeks back. I love this product. I use it at night after my shower, right before going to bed. I use a grapeseed oil for toning (yes, an oil for toning, and it really works) and then dab a small amount of the skin food on my forehead cheeks nose and chin and rub it all in.. when i wake up, my blemishes were less noticeable and actually clearing (drying up). My skin feels soft and smooth and not greasy or oily at all. I will def. be getting another tube or larger amount when my sample runs out.
Lip Treatments -Alba Botanica - Coconut Cream Lip Balm
adhesivelove 7/10/2009 1:02:00 PM
I picked this up a few weeks ago for a little over 3 bucks. I really really like it. It has a nice coconut-y scent to it, without being too fruity like a pina colada. I love the way it makes my lips feel, and its not too glossy, some lip balms still seem to look like a lip gloss after applying and this one does not. I use it at night, and when I wake up in the morning, my lips are smooth and soft. Better than that "soft lips" I had been using and the taste/smell is alot better. I know that they have tinted lip glosses from alba, i saw them at target last weekend, so i want to try those now, they are about $4-5 I think.. anyways, great balm.
Gels/Soaps -Burt's Bees - Radiance Exfoilating Body Wash
adhesivelove 6/26/2009 2:59:00 PM
I just didn't care too much for this body wash. It didn't seem to lather very well, the smell wasn't too appealing, did not seem to exfoliate at all, and so I decided to just try something else. I did leave this in my bathroom near the shower and while cleaning up one day, I opened up the bottle and the smell was awful! Did the product go bad just after a few weeks? I also had problems with the radiance day cream having mildew in it after a few weeks even though I didnt keep that in the bathroom at all. Maybe it's just me, but these products were not worth the cost and they do not have a long shelf life. I only use natural products and have not had this happen with anything else.
Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Naturale Mineral Concealer
adhesivelove 6/16/2009 11:07:00 PM
This stuff is amazing. It costs around 10 bucks, so its not too too expensive. It works really well, with mineral makeup or liquid. I have used it with both. I really like it and will get it again when I need a good concealer.
I have the sample size which is very cheap and gives you a fair amount of product. I absolutely love love love this shade. It is really nice for a smokey look that doesnt look like youve covered your eyes in black like alot of the girls I see do. Its very blendable and I will def. buy another jar if this ever runs out! You use so little that I can see me having the same jar for a year or more.
I have this in the lilac/lavender color. I think it was "berries and cream". I do not know because the color is not on the tube but was on the packaging you have to remove in order to use it. and I hate that. Anyways, the color is really pretty and something I did not have already, but it doesnt last at all! I put this on one night on vacation before going to the local mall and then eating, so I might have worn it an hour and a half if that long. Anyways, after eating, it was no longer on my lips. I had some shimmer but the color was gone and I was really disappointed. I had put this in my makeup case and had not used it yet before going on vacation because i just hoped that it would last, one thing I do not want to think about while having a good time is if my lipstick is there. I didnt like it and havent worn it since. What a shame, cause the color was really unique and pretty.
This product is just horrible. I tried this after buying it and it literally looks like I took one of my kid's markers and did my lips with it. I understand the concept, but it just doesnt work at all. It fades funny and you have to have perfectly moist lips to pull this off, My lips are in pretty good condition but dried them out and made them look chapped even though they werent. I would never get this product again and do not recommend it for anyone.
Im kind of mixed as to whether or not I would buy this again. It has a nice smell to it, and the packaging is okay. It's easy to apply with the sponge tip applicator. The cons are, it doesnt last very long. Like everyone else has already stated, when something says colorstay, you expect it to at least last a few hours, this does not. I have pink lips and find nude lips hard to pull off because my natural color will shine thru or change the way I feel the color should look after application. This really covers any natural color I have, but doesnt seem too nuce to me, It kind of gives me a more orangey look, so Im not sure how well this will look paired up with other colors like eyeshadow or blush.. Its okay though but probably will not get again
I had bought a duplicate of a color that I had and returned it yesterday and saw this color for my exchange. It was really different from anything I have and I have quite a few shadows and pigments. I wanted something darker, but nothing really caught my eye. This seemed to really stand out in the store and I tested it and was amazed at the color payoff on my hand. While you cannot really see too much mint green color on your lids, it def. brightens up your eyes. I too, have blue eyes like the other poster. Mine are very light blue/grey and shimmery white type colors look really well near my lashes. Of course using a white/opal color is just too harsh, so this is a nice alternative. I can def. see this being paired up with browns for a dramatic yet neutral look.
I love love love this spray. It seems to last a while and you can buy the smaller bottle to put in your purse/car to freshen up. It's pretty cheap, around, what $6 or so at Walmart and the bottle is pretty large and will last quite a while. My mom had the small version and after she sprayed it, it would linger in her room for a while and I just loved the smell so I bought it for myself and love love love it. It's very feminine and sweet smelling and not too overwhelming. It's a great spring scent and if you like girly scents, then spend a few bucks and try this.
I got this when it first came out a while ago and I used it once and hated it. I have very very fair skin and the lightest shade did not blend in and change to my perfect shade at all! This was way way too dark and orange/yellowy on me. It looked horrible and the formula was awful too. If you have fair skin like me, this foundation will not do.
When I hear flamingo, I think bright pink.. this is not the case with this shadow. I really enjoy the unique color that this shadow is though. It's actually pretty neutral and can be paired up with a variety of other shades for a dramatic look or worn alone. It's very soft and buttery feeling and very easy to apply and blend in. This is something I will wear when i dont want to spend alot of time with my makeup because it looks nice worn alone on the lid for a slight pop of color.
