Lightest color too dark and yellow for me. Cakey application, but that could be my lack of proper technique, no sense in perfecting it if color is so off.
Lipstick -Yves Rocher - Couleurs Nature - Moisturizing Cream Lipstick
Zetaflickan 4/28/2010 3:39:00 AM
Got this in Rosewood, very different color from the picture on the site that shows a warmer color. The lipstick I got was a cool, light pink, with fine silver shimmer. Not very flattering on me, pinks usually don't work. Soft formula, but there is a slight unpleasant taste of children's modelling clay. Don't know it it's just this color, will try another one.
Lipstick -Yves Rocher - Yria Grand Rouge nourishing smoothing
Zetaflickan 4/28/2010 3:28:00 AM
I think this is a different version, not the same Yria lipstick previously reviewed here. Received as a GWP. I would never have picked this color, sandy beige, myself. Beige-browns usually make me look dead, I need some red or coral. This color is a light brownish beige, with fine gold shimmer. Very flattering at night with a darker eye, to my surprise, but during the day it is too brown, still. Soft application, faint peasant unplaceable scent. It is not very drying, but not a lip balm, either. Wears off evenly. Very pleasurable surprise.
Grittier and therefore not as comfortable to wear on the waterline as the Guerlain kohls. Much cheaper, though, and Guerlain doesn't make this color. This gives a good definition to my eyes without being harsh (I am very pale, with light eyes), it is also a complimentary color, makes my eyes look bluer. I find it easy to apply it the "oriental way", the fallout is just enough to make a softer smudgier flattering look. Very good.
Funny, the exact same color that is called Blonde on the US site, is called Light Brown in Sweden, country of the blondes... Anyway, it is a good light brown, not too warm (but not cold, either), very natural looking with my light brown hair. And I will have to buy another one right away, as I gave mine to my mother after seeing drawn on reddish brown eyebrows on her. Her hair is silver, and this color still works.
This is the only nail polish I have used for the last two years. The perfect color, can't find anything better, makes me happy to look at it. Color changes a lot depending on the light, sometimes more coral, sometimes pink, or orangey, but always extremely flattering on my PPP toes. On fingernails, it chips the same day, as most other polishes so it can be just me, but it lasts as long as other polishes on my toes.
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Amikole's organic shea butter
Zetaflickan 4/14/2010 9:11:00 AM
The best skin moisturizer I ever used. No scent, no reactions, just nicely moisturized skin on face and body. Great also for massage. I paid $26 for 16 oz at the heath food store, it has lasted 9 months so far, will probably go a year. Only reason to use something else is daytime for the face (it takes me time to absorb the shine) or when it is really cold, as it needs the heat from your hands to melt into the skin. Glass jar with plastic lid for the 16oz, the 3.75oz has a metal lid.
Lotions/ Creams -Yves Rocher - spa vegetale Nourishing Body Moisturizer

Actually very moisturizing, works well at that. I prefer more natural ingredients, get a little itchy on my arms if I use this a couple of days in a row. Scent is sickeningly sweet and too strong for me, but SO (who loves fragrance) likes it and has used up most of the bottle on himself with no itching. One of the cheapest lotions on the site, often heavily discounted.
Moisturizers -Boots - Botanics Organic face hydrating day cream
Zetaflickan 4/14/2010 8:41:00 AM
Good moisturizer, but not quite moisturizing enough for my dry face. Works well on the body, though. Scent is a little too strong for my liking, but pleasant. Very good ingredients at a very reasonable price. Nice frosted glass jar with metal lid.
Works well as a makeup remove (but not better than olive oil), and ok as a moisturizer, but I prefer Weleda's rose oil capsules and almond intensive cream. Or shea butter. Next time I will try to find a cheaper organic almond oil, as I think this is a bit overpriced. Nice glass bottle.
Clothes -Unlisted Brand - Massai Barefoot Technology MBT Sneaker
Zetaflickan 4/14/2010 4:22:00 AM
This review is for the MBT Kisumu sandal. I bought a pair when living in New York City, wore them for years every day during the warmer time. My lower back pain diminished, no foot pain (walked a lot every day), posture improved. When moving to the country, I threw the worn out sandals away, and didn't buy a pair until next year, when visiting NY again. This time, I got a deal on ebay. SO complained about me buying those "ugly shoes" again, but after a week walking hours every day, he saw and felt the difference in my butt and encouraged me to wear them more. I like the way they look, like foot braces (have the white ones). I will try the boots for colder months, just don't want to pay full price, and haven't had any ebay luck with those. Also, I now live in the forest and have spent most of my time doing construction, so I don't have the same need for toning shoes anymore, no walking on asphalt.
Moisturizers -Weleda - Wild Rose Face Oil Capsules
Zetaflickan 4/12/2010 2:51:00 AM
This product is NOT discontinued. Excellent moisturizing oil for nighttime use. When my skin gets too dry and flaky from Renova, this works very well. The Weleda sales person said that it is best used as a treatment, not every day. When the skin has has gotten what it needs, it will make you break out. That happened to me, and I rarely break out from natural products. A couple of nights when I need to takes care of the flakes, then I use something else inbetween. The ingredients are superb, all organic oils, no preservatives due to the capsule packaging. Mild, pleasant natural scent. I live close to a Weleda store, and am often able to get this at a discount when it's short dated, then just store them in the fridge, hasn't had any go bad on me even after the expiration date.
Loose Powders -Unlisted Brand - Purely Cosmetics - Diamond Perfect Finish
Zetaflickan 4/12/2010 2:32:00 AM
Bought based on MUA reviews last year. This is a very nice powder, does not make me shiny, sink into lines emphasize pores etc. The packaging is very ugly with the gold, but it doesn't matter if my face looks so good. I like the short ingredient list (diamond powder), fast and reasonably price shipping from the US to Sweden.
Eyeliner -Yves Rocher - Couleur Nature 3 in 1 eye pencil with sequins
Zetaflickan 4/8/2010 5:23:00 AM
It says with sequins in the description, but it really is glitter, of course. I have the pink one, and like it a lot, even though I should have outgrown the glitter phase, by regular standards. The color is subdued, more of a rosewood than pink, sparkles in the same color adds some interest. It realy is kind of discreet and flattering to line lower lashes with. Pencil is a little bit hard, but lasts a long time. I like to pair it with a red lip for night, the sparkles make neutral eyes light up a bit.
Love the oriental metal shade, thought this would be a good way to brighten up my eyes. Got it (expensively) on ebay, and as oriental metal, the powder is very long lasting and non irritating (that 's what the 3 rating is for), but the bright pearly white glare that this brings to my inner eyelids is NOT flattering. It is a bizzare look. Long lasting, non irritating, but bizzare. And I have super pale skin. If this is the look you want, I doubt there is a better quality product out there, but I will look for something closer to skin color.
