Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "Neutral Khakis"
Xuxa13 6/27/2007 12:08:00 PM
I didn't like this the first time I tried it, but I'm giving it a second go-round today and I've changed my mind. The first time, I wore the green shade on the lid, the dark brown in the crease and the ivory shade as highlight/base. Didn't like it. This time I wore the dark brown on the lid and blended the coppery shade into the crease, light shade as highlight/in corners (didn't use the green at all) and it's MUCH better. Maybe it's because I have deep-set eyes and keeping the darker color out of the crease helped that, I don't know. I'll try the green again but not on the lid. Wearability wise, it does last a long time but I wouldn't say 12 hours long. And the pigment is pretty good for d/s eye shadow. I won't buy it again because it's pretty lackluster as far as colors go, but I will keep it in circulation as my "I don't know what else to wear" e/s.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam V

What I like most about this is the cause it supports. The scent and texture are my next favorite things. As for the color, and the longevity of the color... I think it's very mediocre. That's not to say that I don't like it, because I do- - I'm just not "wowed" by it. I bought it with Lustreglass in "Wildly Lush" and wear them together when I do smoky eyes. Overall, it's a good everyday go-to shade that I will wear until gone.

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay Liquid Liner
Xuxa13 6/21/2007 1:25:00 PM
I bought this in a bronze shade. I will never buy another liquid eyeliner again. I've tried numerous and this is the best, IMO. The staying power is good, but really what I love more than anything about this e/l is the applicator. I don't do well with the teeny little brushes, so this is perfect for me. If you can draw a line with a pen, you can use this. Totally fool-proof. Oh, and I adore the color.. used it today on my top lid with Jane mineral e/s duo in "Nassau" and they look great together.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Rum Raisin
Xuxa13 6/20/2007 11:55:00 AM
I picked this up during a BOGOF at Walgreens and boy am I glad I did! I have grown tired of my eternal quest for the perfect neutral/brown lipstick (the closest I have come is L'Oreal Colour Riche "Sandstone"-- if you're NW20, dirty blonde, brown eyes, you should really check it out). Anyway, back to Rum Raisin.. I decided to stop buying light beige shimmery shades that usually don't work on me (I *almost* bought Champagne on Ice) and try something deeper-hued. I was initially attracted to the name because I was hungry at the time. Mmm, rum and raisins... sounds like bread pudding, I thought. It looked kind of so-so through the tube, but when I tried it on... wow. My whole face brightened. It's exactly the kind of color I've been looking for- a complimentary neutral that can be worn with just about anything. The color is a brick reddish brown with a very slight pink undertone, just like rum and raisins! And it lasts f - o - r - e - v - e - r. It fades to a nice stain and doesn't really wear off completely. Only minor complaint is that it might be a tad too drying without lip balm. I'm really loving these Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks. I think this just might be HG status.

Whew! On me, this smelled just like a drugstore perfume from the 80s called "Exclamation". Powdery, sickeningly sweet... I thought the bottle was sooo pretty, and I was excited about receiving my sample after reading all the raves on here, but alas, it shall go to my mother (who will drown herself in it).

Eye Shadow -Jane - Be Pure Mineral Eye Shadow - Nassau

These are nice colors for spring/summer. The colors are comparable to the Neutrogena Mineral Sheers in Pebble, which I have, but I think I like this one more because it's cheaper and the quality is just as good (if not better). The compact is pretty basic and it doesn't come with an applicator, but that's fine with me because I always use my own brushes. I think next I'll by it in the blue tones "Aegean".

Lip Gloss -Max Factor - Colour Perfection Gloss in Havana Honey
Xuxa13 5/16/2007 6:20:00 PM
This is my favorite pink gloss. I'm PPP and it doesn't wash me out in the least. It makes my lips sexy/pouty with a sheer glimmer. I really like the formula- it's not goopy at all and lasts for quite a while. It does have a candy/vanilla smell, but I like it. Looks good over MF lipstick Russet or on its own.

Eye Shadow -MAC - MAC Brun Eyeshadow

I like this as a liner. It's a rich, matte black-ish brown. I originally purchased it with Tempting to achieve a bronze smokey eye but I've found that I have trouble blending it into the crease, so I've resorted to using it as liner only and it works great for that!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Plushglass - Wildly Lush
Xuxa13 5/16/2007 6:09:00 PM
This is really pretty. It's a sheer peachy nude on me and it lessens the pigment in my lips to help me achieve the coveted nude lip look. It lasts a long time and the coconut-y smell is great. No shimmer, just shine so it's OK for work. I don't know about the plumping factor, though.. Sometimes I think my lips look fuller when I wear it, but I'm probably just imagining it. Basic, sturdy MAC packaging is fine. I like to glaze it over Stripdown and Viva Glam V, and sometimes I like it over Prestige Shimmer l/l. HG for me (though it is kinda pricey and I can't help but suspect that there's a cheaper dup' somewhere)..

I am a convert to MMU, but I wanted something fairly cheap and easy to apply for my stash of "emergency" MU at work, and this is perfect! I bought Ivory 405 (in the neutral family) but I probably should have gone with a warmer tone.. no big deal though because the color does adjust, strangely. Love the texture- kinda airy and light and goes on smoothly. It could have better staying power because I look greasy within a few hours, but I have oily skin anyway plus I shouldn't expect amazing results from a DS foundation. The pump bottle is convenient, but a full pump is waaay too much for me- I only need a little squirt. And the fact that that it's oil free/non-comedogenic are big plusses for me. Overall it's a pretty good product at a reasonable price, but I will stick with MMU (Everyday Minerals, yay!) for my go-to foundation.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Lash Out
Xuxa13 4/13/2007 6:43:00 PM
This is pretty good stuff. It lengthens, and - big plus for me - DOES NOT SMUDGE. I took a point off, though, because I wish it did a little more in the thickening department, but I guess that's not the point (hence the name Lash "Out"). And yes, it really is a dreadfully ugly tube- like something that might roll out of your grandmother's m/u bag from the 70's.

Smudge city. Blaaah. I liked the natural yet lush effect it gave my lashes, but it left nice smears on my browbone by mid-day. I wiped them away, touched up with some powder, and... more smudges a couple hours later. No thanks. Back to L'Oreal.

Blush -Prestige - BlushingDuo - combination of blush and highlighter
Xuxa13 4/12/2007 12:38:00 PM
I bought this in "Tapestry" which in the pan looks like a very light peachy pink with a dot of white highlighter. (Originally I bought "Seagrass" but had to return it because it gave me an unnatural sunburnt look.) I like it. It gives me a nice, natural pinky-peach glow with a touch of shimmer. The quality of the blush is surprisingly nice- finely milled and long-lasting. Doesn't take much to show up. I would repurchase, but next time I'll try something more on the peach side than the pink side.

Lip Gloss -Jordana - InColor LipShine Natural Glaze in Banana Cream
Xuxa13 4/12/2007 11:54:00 AM
This is truly wonderful. Who would've thought that for $1.00 and change you could find an amazing lipgloss?? This color is beautiful on my lips, a sheer, wearable beige with no sparkle, great for a neutral look. I tried it with the Prestige l/l in "shimmer" and it's a fantastic pair. It lasts a long time and it smells just like banana cream pie, but I do get annoyed with the applicator. As someone else noted, it's hard to tell how much gloss has been deposited into the brush and suddenly-ploop!-it all comes gushing out and it's waaay too much. Oh well. I'm still in love with it. And to think I paid all that money for a MAC "lushglass" that wasn't quite as pretty and, like, a million times more expensive..

This stuff smells like grandmas. Blech. And the color is reminiscent of something a hooker from 1985 might wear. A grandma hooker. Sorry gals, wanted to like b/c I love, love, love their Sutton Place Peach blush but this stuff Sucks with a capital S.
