Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Beyond Paradise

Pros: Beautiful package
Cons: Smells like in-your-face cheap (which would be perfectly fine if it didn't cost about $70 bucks)

Concealers -Physicians Formula - Gentle Cover Concealer(green)
WhisperInAutumn 7/16/2005 1:57:00 AM
I have red blemishes on my cheeks, and I decided this might be worth a try. I'm somewhat tan, and this was just too green. It looked chalky on my face, so I tried to lay some foundation over it and it simply looked like I never put it on to begin with...not that I'm fond of chalk face. Cute package w/ a little mirror and decent price, but a waste of money.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Naturally Smooth Shave Minimizing Moisturizer
WhisperInAutumn 7/15/2005 11:45:00 PM
I'm complimented often about how soft my skin is (especially by my boyfriend), and this is the only lotion I use, so it's got to be doing something right. As for softer hair, I can definitely tell under my arms and my pelvic area (I go bare). As for my legs? I haven't noticed a significant difference if any at all, but I haven't been using it daily like instructed. Like the clean scent and the consistancy; Love the packaging, as with all non-pump Jergens lotions. Have repurchased and probably will again, or I might have a go at St. Ive's shave minimizer if I can ever find one at stores.

Eye Shadow -New York Color - Sparkle Eye Dust
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 8:34:00 PM
I bought this for the purpose of highlighting my cheek and collar bones, instead of as eye shadow. It's beautiful! Unlike most shimmer products that leave oversized glitters on your body, this just makes your skin look dewy and gives it a sexy glowy sheen. No tacky glitter squares covering your skin, just runway highlights. It'll excentuate any contour of your body. The package is pretty adorable (picture below from other reviewer), it comes in a little pot that has a little brush inside it, covered with a twist top. The brush I wouldn't say is top-notch, but the price was around $2. Muuuch better than 16 bucks for Bourjois. Wonderful. Did everything I was looking for, and honestly, I was expecting it to be a flop. For once, I don't mind being prove wrong! Took a lippie off for the quality of the brush and staying power. (tip: dab a little moisturizer where you want to highlight your body, then brush on shimmer for better staying power.) Will purchase again.

Eyeliner -New York Color - Eye Liner Pencil
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 7:43:00 PM
The darkest shade of black I can find. I've purchased department store liners, such as Lancome, but they've never been that dark, no-question-about-it black I wanted. Grabbed this one day, because I was short of cash and desperately needed some liner. Adore it. By the end of the day, it does smudge a bit, but that's pretty tough in this Oklahoma heat and humidity. Finally, a black liner! (Not blue-ish like every other one I've tried.) For $.99, why not try it? Will purchase again.

Lip Gloss -Dessert Beauty - Dessert Treats Sweet Talk Set
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 1:25:00 AM
Love Jessie, but this line stinks. It doesn't plump whatsoever, so don't expect any swelling. In fact, I think it did the opposite and dried out my lips, making them shrivel around the inside edges. The smells are ok, in a fake way. I'd prefer fun little Lip Smackers. They taste like artificial sweetener. My boyfriend couldn't recognize the flavors and just said they were sweet. Not worth the price and it wears off pretty fast. Like I said, Lip Smackers just smell and taste better. Will not purchase again.

Liquid -Almay - Nearly Naked Touch-Pad liquid makeup
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 1:14:00 AM
Absolutely disgusting. Nearly Naked my toosh! It doesn't cover any blemishes or markings because it's thin like water and it just feels like you're smearing a layer of GREASE on your face!!! Yick! Will never, ever purchase again. My first Almay product and probably my last. Wish I could have given it negative 5 lippies.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Fresh H20 Body Moisturizer
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 12:26:00 AM
The ultimate summertime moisturizer. I hate feeling, thick, heavy, greasy lotions on my skin in the summer. I live in Oklahoma, so it can get pretty hummid and hot, so you sweat a lot and it's not a nice combo with lotion, 'cause you develope that slimey salamander trait. Yucko. Clean and crisp scent (but it has to kinda grow on you) that's wonderful straight out of the shower. Then again, the only way to really smell it is to stick your arm right up against your nose. The little blue spheres care novelty and don't really serve any purpose. It absorbs so nicely into the skin, you feel like your not even wearing lotion. BUT you are left feeling smoooooth. A lovely lotion right out of the shower, 'cause who wants to feel sticky and greasy after a rinse? Will purchase again.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Whipped Silk Body Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 12:22:00 AM
I really liked the texture, so I decided to give it a try. It seemed so light and airy; who wouldn't want to spread a soufle on themself? Well, I tried it, and I can't say I'm too impressed. I wanted so badly to like the lotion. The concept is just really nice, but after it soaked in, I was just left with a squeaky, waxy, plastic-like feeling on my skin. For a light, non-greasy formula by St. Ives, I prefer the Fresh H20.

Cleansers -Olay - Daily Facials Express - All Skin Types
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 12:15:00 AM
<3 <3 <3 this stuff. My mother gave it to me one day, so I tried it out. Absolutely dependent upon it now. This, along with Clearasil acne cream has kept my skin looking the best it has in years. Even better than when I used an expensive line I had imported from Japan. Oh, and the lovely toll it takes on my wallet compared to that Japanese brand. I'm rejoicing. It gets all my makeup off too. I haven't had to buy makeup remover in who knows how long. Plus, it's so gentle to my eyes. If I get any in them, no big deal, I can't even feel it. Will purchase again and again and again!

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control
WhisperInAutumn 7/13/2005 12:03:00 AM
Good lord, this product has had such great reviews it's intimidating to post mine. Two lippies for packaging and tingling/refreshing feeling. Aside from that, I can't tell a single difference in the texture, complexion, and overall health of my skin. Sorry ladies. I don't think I'll be purchasing this again.

Lotions/ Creams -Jergens - Soft Shimmer Skin Radiance Moisturizer [DISCONTINUED]
WhisperInAutumn 7/12/2005 7:12:00 PM
I bought if for the shimmer effect, and it did a marvelous job at it. Brings a sort of level of confidence when standing in the sunshine. Took a lippie off because of the way it performes as a moisturizer. It isn't very moisturizing and it sort of leaves my skin with a plastic-y, squeeky feeling. But I'd very much rather have my shimmer powder in a moisturizer that doesn't really moisturize and leaves me with a sublte glow than a powder shimmer by itself turning me into a disco-ball. I love the way Jergens packages. Plus, it's a crazy good value.

Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Veet's Bladeless Razor hair removal kit
WhisperInAutumn 7/11/2005 6:53:00 PM
Three lippies for packaging and moderate effectiveness. The stubble doesn't grow back all at once, but it's certianly still there. Stings and itches and leaves me with little red patches from the chemicals and plastic razor (you have to press down fairly hard if you want to scrape the hair off if you have coarse hair). It isn't as quick and convieniant than shaving, but you'll never get a nick. But honestly, I'd rather have a little nick and completely smooth legs than the redness and stinging/itching and random hairs. I won't get the stuff anywhere near my underarms or bikini due to the irratating sensation on my legs. From my experience, it's more effective than Nair. A pricey novelty, since it'll give you about four shaves. Will not purchase again.
