Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - HiP Studio Secrets Professional Metallic Shadow - IGNITED 520
VegetaFanGirl 9/21/2012 10:43:00 PM
Uh, I have mixed feelings about this duo. So, this duo, Ignited, is in L'Oreal HIP's subcategory Metallics. I'll first start off mentioning the packaging- it is very bulky for 2 eyeshadows, measuring about 3.4" deep! The plastic casing is also kind of cheap, but it has not failed me yet. The packaging consists of 2 parts- the eyeshadows, and a secret compartment on the bottom to store your eyeshadow applicator, which is kinda useless, so I store money in there instead. The duo was pretty expensive, around $10 for a drugstore duo, but thanks to Target, I got this on sale. Now, for the shadows themselves. The gold one on the left is absolutely incredible. It is a vintage gold, but it is just GORGEOUS. It is highly pigmented and reflective, and it is just a beautiful dramatic shadow. However, the purple on the right is a bit of a disappointment. It is not as pigmented as the gold one and even seems a bit more chalky, which is pretty sad. I still use them both, of course, but I enjoy the gold one more. The purple acts well as a subtle liner shade. Plus, gold and purple aren't the most practical, everyday shades. These do have great staying power and don't fade or crease, so overall, I'd buy another duo from this line, I just didn't fall in love with this one.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Liberty
VegetaFanGirl 9/21/2012 10:30:00 PM
I do think this is a great bareMinerals eyeshadow. Not too much to say here- this is one of their loose eyeshadows. It is a silvery-blue with lots of shimmer. It is a gorgeous color in the packaging, but it looks a little cheap if you don't apply it properly or with a correct brush. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it to its best! You don't need to use a ton of product, a little goes a long way. It looks a little more blue than silver on the eyes when you wear it, but it is a buildable color. I suggest wearing a light colored eyeshadow base to bring out this shadow's best color. It does have good staying power, no fallout, except for the initial time you put it on. You can buy this for $17 at any bareMinerals counter. Overall, I like the product a lot!

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Eye Liner - All Colors
VegetaFanGirl 9/21/2012 9:48:00 PM
I can't say anything too amazing about this eyeliner, but overall, it is a great drugstore purchase. It definetely matches up to a lot of high end liners I've tried and it has done better. Firstly, I bought this eyeliner in Brown Black. Originally, my friend suggested it because she said it is a good liner that won't smudge on the waterline. So, why not? This eyeliner is more expensive than most drugstore liners, for around $9. However, you do get a good amount of product, a (rubber) smudge tip and a tiny sharpener built in. The liner itself if extremely pigmented, I'll give it that. It is very smooth, not waxy, and highly intense. You can achieve awesome dramatic looks with it, and it smudges amazingly. But, that's also the problem- it smudges amazingly. In hot weather, this eyeliner will make your eyes look like a living hell. In cold weather, it fares quite well, but in the summer, welcome to Smudge City. It does not stay too well on the waterline. So even though it's very intensely pigmented, the staying power fails this otherwise-good eyeliner.

Clothes -Victoria's Secret - General Opinion
VegetaFanGirl 9/19/2012 3:41:00 PM
Lol first off I'm wondering why this is review slot even here! This is a general opinion on Victoria's Secret and Pink from someone who goes there maybe once every 2 months just to see what they've got. I don't care too much for that store. I am very flat-chested (34A) so I love trying on their steroidal push-up bras- even if they don't quite fit. I also did buy some for special occasions. Let me say first that their panties are absolutely NO different than what you'd buy at Walmart- feel no different, look no different, just cost a crapload more money. Their bras are the same story- they feel no different. They're waaay too expensive for their own good- I do not need much support, so it's no different than if I bought a bra for $20 cheaper. I like the Pink yoga pants and sweatshirts- very comfy and great for casual days. I really don't bother with Pink teeshirts or camis or any of that- just the casual stuff. I have not tried their makeup or perfume line or jeans and stuff and am not planning to. Also, I directed my attention to the right side of this webpage and noticed a Victoria's Secret ad for a new sports bra line- oh god. That being said, I will continue to shop there.

Eye Shadow -New York Color - All Four Me Eyeshadow Quad
VegetaFanGirl 8/19/2012 10:30:00 PM
These are surprisingly really good eyeshadows. Before these, I've never bought NYC shadows before. I was a bit skeptical, but decided to give them a go. Totally paid off- great product. I have the quad in Plum Perfect, a quad that includes a silvery white, a sparkly black, a light mauve, and a burgundy. It is very fun experimenting with these shades, and these are not the eyeshadows that will make your eyes look red and puffy. These stay on well and don't crease or fade if used with primer, but they do tend to become have some fallout as you're preparing your look. The packaging is good, and the price of these was excellent (got these for $1.69 at Christmas Tree Shops). Overall, these deserve a good rating- they're good quality shadows.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Neutral Liaisons
VegetaFanGirl 8/19/2012 9:58:00 PM
Love, love love! This is one of my favorite neutral-metallic palettes of all time! I got this on sale at Target a couple months ago, and it was totally worth it. The three colors in this little palette are extremely versatile, suitable for both day and night looks. What I love is that they are neutral yet reflective at the same time, so these are neutral shades that don't feel dull. It does take a bit of practice applying them, I will admit that. It helps to alternate between brushes and fingers. They don't crease, and I haven't had any fading, falling, or other kinds of problems like that. These shouldn't be used or stored in super cold places- they refuse to work when they're cold! Honestly, the plastic packaging is of poor quality. The lid broke off when I dropped them. However, these shadows are pretty affordable, way under $10, and possibly some of the best neutral cream shadows out there!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - i-Sparkle eyeshadow quad "Solar Eclipse"
VegetaFanGirl 8/19/2012 9:47:00 PM
In all honesty, I'm disappointed with this product. I LOVE WnW eyeshadows but these didn't hit the benchmark. I have Solar Eclipse and another one in Star Clusters (there's no review slot for it, but I have the same opinion about both palettes). The palette layout is beautiful, and the whole artistic conception is wonderful. These shadows aren't pigmented at all, wet or dry. They're also crumbly and chalky. Don't last too long, even with primer. Love the little mirror it comes with!! The price was pretty good, though.

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Anti-Redness Primer
VegetaFanGirl 8/19/2012 9:37:00 PM
It's an okay product, a little more on the less-loved side. This is a green face primer that is supposed to conceal redness. Lemme say that this product is very sheer coverage-wise. It will conceal your very minor redness problems. It's good for minor acne or maybe some minor spots- nothing that requires a ton of product. It isn't a very good "primer" so to speak- I didn't see a difference in my foundation wear throughout the day. I don't actually cover my entire face with this, but still. It is also pretty greasy and oddly shimmery...why the shimmer, I don't know. It does work for me, though. I do notice a difference in the evenness of my skin with foundation. It is a cheaper product, somewhere around $11. I probably won't repurchase this, but I'm borderline with this product.

Eyeliner -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Insider Eyeliner In Onyx
VegetaFanGirl 8/12/2012 12:16:00 AM
I always have faith in high end products, but I'm afraid this is not a very good high end liner. When I shop, I am always THAT GIRL who sees something and goes "oooh, shiny!!" and buys that item. This case was the same- very shiny, reflective, almost chrome exterior. So I caved and bought this liner, which was surprisingly affordable for only $19. When I got back, I actually did like this liner a lot- very smooth, pigmented black color. But that was in the winter- now it's the summer, and I took a vaca to a very dry, hot place with temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius. I had to touch up the product every 5 minutes- it ran, smudged, and actually fell off my eyelids in clumps. I was like "what the hell?? my eyeliner is falling off!! This defies all physics!" And no, that wasn't my mascara- I was wearing a colored one, and this is the liner in Onyx. So this is an awesome eyeliner for winter or colder weather because it is very smooth and pigmented, but in the summer it will fail you horribly.

Eyeliner -Cover Girl - Line Exact
VegetaFanGirl 8/12/2012 12:05:00 AM
I personally think this is one of the best felt-tip liquid liners out there. I have not tried anything better out there! Plus, I feel the need to review this because this liner needs some love. I really love that it comes in a small little pen thing- it can fit into my purse or pocket easily and it doesn't touch my mirror whenever I put it on. This product gives me great control over what I do with it, and it is so easy doing a sexy cateye with this liner. It does last very well- wear-wise and shelf-life-wise. Mine seemed to dry up at first then I figured out the solution- just shake it. The color is great too- very, very nice black. It's not waterproof, but hey, there's other liners for that. It's better for thin lines than for thick lines, but works either way. Plus, it was cheap for only $6. I definetely recommend this and definetely repurchasing!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Mascara (Black Brown)
VegetaFanGirl 8/11/2012 11:53:00 PM
This is not my HG mascara, but I do like it a lot overall. Firstly, I fell for this because of the beautiful kinda- not tiger-colored- flame colored tube. L'Oreal gets kudos for appearance. But the packaging itself is very cheap-feeling and made of light plastic. Plus, you don't get much product- only .16 FL OZ., which is just a couple hundredths fluid ounces more than sample mascaras. It has a very fine-bristled wire wand, which I think is the perfect size. No clumps. I do like how much product it dispenses on your lashes- maybe not so much as "Naturale" as maybe a little more dramatic. It gives great length and volume for me in one coat. The color is much more natural-looking, and I do have the one in Black-Brown. Honestly, the color doesn't matter- it makes my lashes stand out, so who cares? It does take a while to get it off, though, which is a chore, even with the washable version. However, because of that, it doesn't flake or smudge. It actually is kinda cheap compared to other L'Oreal mascaras- I got mine (in the clearance bin, but I saw the original price tag and it was) for $7. So overall, it is a great mascara, but the name is underestimating the power of this product!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup
VegetaFanGirl 8/4/2012 12:03:00 AM
I'm not in love with this foundation, so to speak, but I do like it overall. Firstly, lemme tell you my motive for buying this product- I've always been interested in purchasing a foundation with a fire warning on the back. Speaking of which- this product probably has the most warning labels on a foundation I've ever seen before in my life! (E.g. Keep away from extreme heat or flame, keep out of reach of children, caution: container may explode, do not burn even after using, do not recycle) Also, I was just curious to try the "mousse" foundation. Firstly, it is one of the more expensive drugstore foundations, I got mine for $12. You do not get a gigantic can, it may look like you do, but it's only 4-5 inches tall. However, don't be fooled by the can- you get A LOT of product inside. One lesson I learned the hard way is to not dispense more than a nickel's worth- in this case, a little goes a very, very, VERY long way. I just cannot stress that enough! Even whatever is still puffing out in the dispenser is probably enough to completely cover your nose. At first, it has the consistency of whipped cream when you dispense it. Then, as you kinda feel around, it turns into the average foundation liquid. What I found interesting is that it is very shimmery, and I mean shimmery. You practically see the sparkles in the sunlight- so if you would like the Edward Cullen effect, then you'll love this foundation. I honestly don't mind the sparkles- you can't see them unless someone os really close to your face. It also mentions "light reflecting pigments that bend and reflect light". Those pigments, as a result, give this foundation a very dewy finish. Maybe even a slightly oily finish. So, this foundation is great for summer as it gives a beautiful, sun-kissed glow. The coverage is light-medium- you do need concealer if you want to cover up anything major. The staying power isn't very good- you can easily rub off the sparkles and the product off your face. It says that it's a "Photoready" foundation, but with the shine that it adds to my face, no way in hell am I wearing this in major photos. I'd rate this as a very average product. So in conclusion, okay coverage, poor staying power, shimmery, dewy, pricey for drugstore, and flammable.

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Primer
VegetaFanGirl 7/28/2012 7:58:00 PM
Review no. 1500! This is an amazing product, truly it is. It works very similar to my bareMinerals Prime Time, so I commend this product big time. You need only a very tiny amount for it to cover your whole face. I love that it agrees with all my foundations, no matter the kind. It does do a great job of controlling my oily combo skin, and I don't need to apply any more to my oily areas. It stays in place all day and makes my makeup really flawless! It seems to just even out my entire face, so I am so happy to have purchased this! It doesn't make my skin break out. The price for it is extremely big, making this product one of the more expensive face products I've purchased. For the $36, it is definetely something every lady should get because it really works!!

Primer/ Corrector -Bare Escentuals - Prime Time
VegetaFanGirl 7/28/2012 7:52:00 PM
Awesome product- HG primer!! I got this in a small size with the bareMinerals Your Starting Lineup set. I was so impressed with the way it performed, had to go back and repurchase a full size bottle! You need less than a pea-size amount to cover your entire face, which is great because you can make the bottle last a really long time. It does do a great job at keeping all my foundations and concealers in place, and even keeps my other primers in place for my entire day, which is over 17 hours long. I would recommend this to anybody, any skin type is fine when it comes to this primer. Prime Time doesn't do the best job of controlling my oily skin, which it says it does, but it keeps my foundations in place and helps keep oil from ruining my face, and that's enough for me! I love that it also cooperates with any type of foundation- liquids, mousses and powders go great with this product! It didn't do much for my skin, but I didn't break out and I have small pores anyway. The price is all right, a little on the expensive side, but it is much more affordable than the Smashbox primers, so it's a better deal. I will definetely keep repurchasing!!

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - beauty school - eyeshadow palette natural
VegetaFanGirl 7/28/2012 7:09:00 PM
I'm sorry- after a streak of good reviews on this product, the party pooper has to show up at some point; that person is me. I've read all the glowing reviews on this product and bought it, thinking that this would be the perfect palette to travel with. I mean, it's got 6 neutral tones of light, medium and dark shades- what more could you want? It was extremely cheap, for only $5 at Target. However, when I got home, I was extremely disappointed. The colors were not pigmented at all, wet or dry. The shadows practically fell apart when I tried to pick them up. Plus, when I tried to do a look, they just stuck to my brush. I didn't even bother trying to wear these out on a normal day- so I don't know about the longetivity of them. These are very chalky, and they do not show up well at all. I felt so bad because the colors looked so beautiful and promising in the packaging, but they didn't live up to my expectations. Also, I accidentally dropped it, and the lid snapped right off. I was like, "Are you kidding me??". The palette just added injury to insult on its behalf. I had to give it away to my mom in the end.I will not be repurchasing this palette.
