Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Kirkland Costco Body Lotion
Susee 11/29/2011 4:46:00 PM
This is a very moisturizing lotion at a reasonable price (two 22-oz bottles for $12.99). It absorbs quickly and the moisturization lasts a long time. However, it was too greasy feeling for me, and I couldn't get past the odd scent. On the surface, it smells slightly fake-citrusy and then it just smells strange; I don't even know how to describe it, but I didn't like it at all. It was bad enough for me to return it, since I am pretty particular about scents. Too bad, because generally Kirkland products are outstanding. If you don't mind a slightly greasy feeling lotion or the scent, it's a good lotion.

Eye Shadow -Ulta - Mystique
Susee 11/22/2011 8:48:00 PM
I am disappointed in this eyeshadow. I purchased it based on the positive reviews, but it doesn't show up on me at all. I tried building it up with a couple of layers and it didn't help. I don't know if it came from a bad batch or what, but it looks like I'm wearing nothing except for a few shimmers. Update: I've been experimenting and I do like this; when I layer it with a darker brown (Clinique's chocolate chip) it really seems to show up more.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon #252B Nutty
Susee 10/17/2011 2:25:00 PM
I know nothing about MAC satin taupe, so to be honest those reviews tell me nothing. That being said, this is a lovely cool-toned taupe eyeshadow that lasts all day. It isn't too dark, but shows up beautifully and really brings out the blue in my eyes. I use it as an all over wash and I don't need any other shadow; usually I need a lid, crease, and highlighter color. This one is amazing on its own. It's a perfect taupe eyeshadow.

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation

I love this foundation. I have sensitive, combination skin, and it gives a nice, dewy finish without being too heavy or cakey.

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
Susee 10/15/2011 9:30:00 PM
This haircolor is my new favorite. It covers all my (I'm 50%) gray, and my hair has no noticeable damage from it. I have tried L'oreal Excellence & Superior Preference, Colorsilk, Nice n Easy, and Clairol Hydrience and I found Garnier to give me the best gray coverage that lasts while being very gentle on my hair. I used Light Neutral Brown, and my hair did come out a level darker than expected. It faded only slightly after four weeks, and I either wash or condition my hair every day. There is no strong smell, and I paid about $6 for the box.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy Hair Color
Susee 7/16/2011 9:51:00 PM
I LOVE Nice n Easy, especially for gray coverage. I use the Medium ash blonde (106a) and it gives me very natural looking color, close to what is on the box, with no brassiness. I would say my natural color is about a level 5-6 with ash tones. I am about 40% gray, and it covers them very well. I use it about every four weeks on my roots for 45 minutes, and on the length for about ten minutes to touch them up. I have tried other brands, both drugstore and from Sally's, and I haven't found any that cover gray as well. The conditioner that comes with it is wonderful; it smells awesome and is very thick, rich, and moisturizing. It is a large tube that lasts six weeks (using it once per week). In the past, I've done some not-so-smart things with coloring and called the Clairol color experts and they are very helpful; they walked me through "fixing" the damage I did. I usually can purchase this for about $5 a box, when it's on sale and I have a coupon. I think it's a great price for hair color that I use once a month, including conditioner.

Polishes -OPI - California Raspberry
Susee 6/27/2011 11:35:00 AM
I was looking for a dupe of my favorite polish, Peru B Ruby, since it's getting difficult for me to find. I bought CA Raspberry because it looked VERY similar, and it is!! It's a beautiful, shimmery very reddish pink (raspberry!!) color. It applies very smoothly and is almost opaque in one coat, although I used two. It dries quickly to a smooth finish with no streaking at all. I have very fair, cool (although tanned) skin and this is a perfect color for my summer pedicures. It makes me happy to look at my toes!!

Polishes -Revlon - Cherries in the Snow
Susee 6/24/2011 11:00:00 PM
I love pink, berry, and purple polishes for summer pedicures, and this is one polish I keep going back to. I generally don't like red on me, but this one has so much pink in it that it works perfectly. It's VERY cool toned. It's a color that just looks really good with my cool-toned (somewhat tan) skin. It's a rich creme shade, no frost or shimmer. I find it lasts on my toenails for about a week without chipping (no top coat).

Polishes -OPI - Cancun Fiesta
Susee 6/18/2011 1:46:00 PM
This is silly, but I love the name of this polish! I also love bright pinks and berries for my pedicures, so I had to buy it. It applies flawlessly and is opaque in one coat, although I always use two. It is a very bright hot pink with no shimmer or glitter; it's a creme. The finish is very shiny and glossy when dry; I don't use a top coat because I don't think I need one. I can easily go 5 or 6 days without any chips.

Polishes -OPI - Cajun Shrimp
Susee 6/17/2011 12:44:00 PM
This OPI color is a lovely creme mix of red, orange, and pink. It's very bright and looks beautiful as a summer pedicure color. I'm very fair (but tanned now) and cool toned and I love it, but I also think it would look good on darker and warmer toned ladies as well. It applies very smoothly and is opaque in two coats.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - Sun-Ripened Raspberry Shower Gel
Susee 6/11/2011 8:40:00 PM
I just bought this at the SAS because the scent was always one of my favorites; I've used the lotion and body spray. I really like this gel; it gives a lot of moisturizing lather and rinses away cleanly. It smells really good, too: that classic sun-ripened raspberry scent. The SA told me that after this SAS, the scent would not be available in stores again.

Gels/Soaps -Ulta - 3-in-1 Shower Smoothies
Susee 6/3/2011 8:38:00 AM
I bought the pink lemonade smoothie, and I love the smell and the big pump bottle. But I need a lot of it (4 or 5 pumps) when I use it as a shower gel, and I don't think that justifies the high price, $14.99. I did get it as part of a buy 2, get 2 deal. Update: changing this to a 4 rating; although I seem to use a lot of it, after two weeks, it doesn't look like I'm using much at all. The bottle is still almost full.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Climate Control Tres Extra Hold Firm Control Mousse
Susee 6/1/2011 4:47:00 PM
For reference, I have very thick but fine naturally curly hair that gets very frizzy/wild easily. I love this mousse because it controls my hair and gives me definition without a lot of "crunch" and doesn't make my hair feel coated, greasy, or stiff. I use a sulfate free shampoo, and the mousse doesn't build up in my hair. I don't need a lot of it; two palmfuls is enough for my shoulder length hair.

Skincare - Body -Bath and Body Works - Signature Coconuts - Coconut Pineapple
Susee 5/22/2011 4:32:00 PM
Scents are so personal; what one person likes the next may not. I liked this one; I can pick out the coconut and pineapple in it and I think its fresh and great for summer. :)

Polishes -OPI - Yodel Me On My Cell
Susee 5/16/2011 8:20:00 AM
I found this polish to be really unique. It's a greenish-blue (definitely leaning towards blue) shimmer. I put it on my toes this morning; it applied very smoothly and dried quickly like most OPI polishes I've had. I had a nice opaque color in two coats. I really like the color on my fair (although slightly tanned) skin; it doesn't wash me out or look really dark, but it shows up really nice and, for some reason, reminds me of the sea. I think I'll be wearing it a lot this summer.
