Treatments -Alpha Hydrox - AHA Souffle 12 percent Glycolic AHA
Suki73 10/15/2005 12:08:00 PM
I like to incorporate an AHA in my routine and was using Aqua Glycolic cleanser but experienced some red bumps. I was worried that I would break out from this item as well - even Exuviance w/ pha, my former favorite, caused redness. Well, I had to write because this product is working amazingly well on my combo, acne-prone skin. I thought I needed something for fine lines but I had no idea the AH would work to clear up my acne! Others in p-ville commented on this but I don't know why, it just surprised me. I didn't expect such quick results. This has worked better than the various spot treatments I've tried!

Polishes -OPI - You Ottaware Purple
Suki73 10/1/2005 10:47:00 AM
As others have mentioned, this is a cool-toned, grape purple shade. I find it truly unique within my collection have received lots of raves from friends whenever I wear it. As for the formula, I've noted that some OPIs are thinner and streakier than others; I had the same application woes with "How to Jamaica a Million" as with this one. It takes at least two coats for decent coverage. However, because of the intensity of the shade, I think that anything more opaque would appear too severe, even goth-like. The sheer formula cuts down on the intensity, so it's worth the extra work.

Cleansers -Olay - Self-Foaming Cleansing Discs
Suki73 9/21/2005 10:34:00 AM
I don't really care for these. I love the Olay daily facial cleansing cloths and really noticed a difference in the clarity of my skin since using them. I saw these on sale at Ulta and decided to try them as an alternative to the cloths. I purchased these in Deep Cleansing, for combination/oily skin. The discs themselves are large and produce a heavy lather - almost too much. I am able to use these for face, neck and even shoulders in the shower...otherwise I feel I am wasting so much product. Scent is pleasant yet strong. My face feels a bit too dry after using these; I wouldn't try them in the normal to dry version because I just find these to be wasteful and, as another mentioned, gimmicky. That all being said, I will continue to use the Olay lathering cloths; they aren't perfect but I find them highly effective.

Treatments -Creative Nail Design - Solar Balm
Suki73 9/20/2005 9:58:00 AM
I like to keep some sort of cuticle moisturizer on hand and this is my latest purchase. I usually use Burt's Bees or Watkin's (good stuff) but wanted to try something new. I like this product so far. I find the scent is nice and very subtle, and my nails are left feeling conditioned but not greasy. Expensive for what you get; Burt's costs a third of this. But - I do find it to be more absorbant, and I am happy with how my cuticles look. May repurchase but I'd like to try regular Solar Oil first. There are just too many products to try!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Onyx Professional Nail Polish remover
Suki73 9/17/2005 12:24:00 PM
I've tried so many polish removers and this is the one I continue to repurchase. This removes polish quickly and completely and leaves no lingering odor. Though I know I probably "should" use non-acetone, I find that acetone just works better for me on my natural nails. I change my polish weekly and since making the switch to acetone I've noticed my nails feel much stronger. This product makes removing any sort of polish a breeze. I get mine at Sally's and it is often on sale.

Eyeliner -Clinique - Cream Shaper for eyes in Brown Sugar
Suki73 9/11/2005 8:20:00 PM
LOL, I wish I would have read the previous review before shelling out my money on this one. The shade is a lovely bronze but this lasted all of an hour on my eyes. Yes, the application was nice and easy; but without any stay power, what's the point? I will also stick with my powerpoints.

Bronzers -Milani - Tiger Bronzer
Suki73 8/26/2005 11:18:00 AM
I just wanted to agree with the other raves for this product. I initially bought this for my mother, who is blonde with green eyes, but it works just as well for my coloring. I thought the gel texture would be too heavy but it blends evenly and really gives a lovely bronzey glow. It's my staple for the evenings. No breakouts of problems of any sort, and you can't beat the price. Highly recommended!

Cleansers -Shiseido - Pureness Cleansing Water
Suki73 8/14/2005 10:19:00 AM
I am on my third bottle of this wonderful cleanser. I had been looking for a waterless cleanser for my lazy no-makeup days and this product was recommeneded by the skincare board. I find the Shiseido to be highly-effective, non-drying, and pleasantly scented. I don't use it to remove eye makeup because it is easier just to use standard makeup remover and cleanser for this. I have combo, acne-prone skin and have noticed a clearer complexion since using this. Though it is pricey, you can purchase refills to ease some of the cost.

Cleansers -Phisoderm - pH2O daily replenishing wash
Suki73 6/4/2005 12:32:00 AM
I am also liking this cleanser. I spotted the revamped Phisoderm line at a local drugstore and picked up this one and the scrub. This is a foaming cleanser that feels very rich and moisturizing. A wee bit goes a long way. I have not experienced any irritation on my combo./sensitive skin. I particularly like how soft my skin feels after using this wash. I did deduct one lippie for the scent; I do like it, but, to me, it is a bit too strong for a daily cleanser. Nice stuff overall.

Scrubs -Olay - Daily Facials Clarity Daily Scrub
Suki73 4/22/2005 9:48:00 PM
Hmph. This scrub broke me out terribly - worse than any other scrub I've tried. Further, I found the scent to be strong and, to me, undesirable. A miss.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Mimosa pour Moi
Suki73 4/12/2005 10:21:00 AM
I adore this. I received a sample from a wonderful MUAer and was instantly hooked. I am not great at describing fragrances, and I think the other ladies have done a terrific job, so I'll just say that I think this is the perfect daytime scent for Spring. I receive so many compliments when I wear this! On me, this lasts about five hours. Would repurchase in a heartbeat.

Skincare - Face -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Tree Tree Satin Soap
Suki73 3/20/2005 1:32:00 PM
Nice pump dispenser with a cute koala on the label. Aside from that, I found this to be standard, even drying, for use as a face wash. Nice, clean scent and the bottle is huge and lasts a very, very long time. No lauryl and laureth sulfates. I use this as a hand wash and it does the job, but I would not repurchase as a face wash. I disagree with the claim that it "never dries your skin."

Shampoo -TiGi - Catwalk Sexed Up Body Building Shampoo & Conditioner
Suki73 3/20/2005 1:26:00 PM
I really like this shampoo and conditioner. Used together, this duo works at building volume for my long, straight hair. I think it is overpriced, like other Tigi products, but you can often find deals and discounts at retailers such as Ulta and Trade Secret. The scent is very strong and I dislike smelling of pink lemonade in the middle of winter, but it's worth it because of the results. Definite repurchase. It is one of a few HG combos I use over and over again.

Shampoo -TiGi - Self Absorbed Shampoo
Suki73 3/20/2005 1:21:00 PM
I really dislike this shampoo. It does nothing for my oily scalp and dry ends; in fact, it seems to exacerbate the greasy look by the end of the day. Not pleasant. I kind of like the smell and thought I could use it for the warmer months but it's not even adequate for low-maintenance days. Two lippies for the packaging - I find the bottle very convenient. Will not repurchase.

Conditioner -TiGi - Bed Head Self Absorbed Conditioner
Suki73 3/20/2005 1:17:00 PM
I got this free so I cannot comment on the price, however I think it is probably as overpriced as other Tigi products. I found this to be a very average conditioner. I have long, stick-straight hair and it is standard in detangling. The scent is okay, kind of like Tang or even sweetarts to me, but it's too strong to use often. I would not purchase.
