The TPS scent description for this is a vague "teacakes and pie". Though I didn't know what to expect from this, I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Buttery vanilla, marzipan, and sweet spices are the notes I pick up from this scent. I'm not crazy about spice scents in general, but this one is scrumptious!

Weak and insipid. There are none of the buttery crust or lemon custard notes expected from a fragrance called Tarte au Citron; this smells more like a cheap, lemon-scented bathroom cleanser than it does a tasty dessert.

I put off reviewing this fragrance in hopes that time would improve it -- and it has improved a bit in the week since I received it -- but it's still an immediate scrubber. When I first tried it, The only thing that came to mind was plain salted popcorn/no butter. Now it smells more like salted basmati rice with an added splash of spoiled milk. No repurchase. Update 1/9/07: Aboslutely nauseating! I would definitely go broke as an etailer as I'd rather pour blatantly "off" stuff like this down the drain than to sell it to my customers!

Freshly applied, this smells very much like its namesake, only better. My nose detects notes of lemongrass and fresh citrus, a pronounced soapy accord, soft florals, and perhaps a bit of vanilla and sandalwood (there is a mellow creaminess in the drydown -- and a sweetness which I DON'T get from a bar of Ivory soap). The fragrance is quite intense and lasts quite a while. I spritzed my gown with it before going to bed one night; some eight hours later, I woke up to a scent that smelled just as bright as it did when it was first applied. My favorite TPS scent so far. A definite repurchase.

This has a rich, mouth-watering aroma of sweet, creamy vanilla cake. Smells better than the real thing, IMO. A definite repurchase.

When first applied, this has the aroma of salted butter melting in a frying pan; only with the drydown does the fragrance lose some of its saltiness, becoming more like the scent of warm milk. The best part is that it doesn't reek of unlisted cherry almond and/or spice notes that I've sniffed in many of the etailer scents I've tried! It's not perfect but I like it well enough to repurchase.

This is all dry-as-dust sandalwood on me -- much too masculine for my tastes. No repurchase. Edit 12/13/06: After a period of "curing", a note of lavender has become more evident in this fragrance.There are no discernible notes of vanilla or coconut; just an arid blend of sandalwood & herbaceous lavender...well, this certainly explains its distinctly masculine aroma! I've used lavender EO theraputically for years and have long been tired of its scent. Whether it's camphorous/herbaceous or balsamic -- I pretty much know lavender when I smell it! (FYI: there's a note of it in Jill Sander Sensations, too.)

Very pretty musk fragrance. To my nose it's mildly sweet, a bit soapy, and has just a hint of spice (nothing that'll singe your nose hairs). Clean and delicate. Considering purchasing a full-size.

Certain musk fragrances have all most no smell to me: this is one. All I can manage from this scent is a faint and delicate, but still very pretty, floral note. Much to light too consider purchasing full-size.

I got this as a freebie. In the vial, it smells a lot like nail polish Freshly applied it has more of an artificial candied coconut and vanilla scent. Might be a nice fragrance for a young girl...

For me the most discernible notes in this fragragrance are tobacco, leather/suede, moss, and conifers. This is the most potent and complex scent of the 7 Ava Luxe samples I ordered (...plus the 2 freebies included). A little masculine for my tastes; but still interesting. Possible repurchase.

I had high hopes for this one -- A milky-scented but non-foody fragrance. Alas, the note of amber kills it for me. It has the same vanilla bugspray aroma of both Chopard Casmir and Coty Vanilla fields.

An unsual fragrance that starts off with a note of pine then evolves into a fresh/soapy scent with discernible notes of vanilla, chocolate, berries, and mild spices. I really like this one and am considering a possible repurchase.
