Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Urtekram - No Perfume Conditioner
Safin 11/10/2010 4:00:00 PM
I am using this conditioner for 2 weeks now. I give the product a 5 for the healthy ingredients (no fragrance, no silicones, no parabens), that is why I bought it in the first place. For it's results I give it a 3. It detangles a bit and my hair is less static, but not very shiny (I hoped for that healthy shine). I have a lot of fine shoulderlength hair, I don't think this is very good for thick unmanageable hair. International list of ingredients (INCI)2010: Aqua, glycerin*, alcohol*, prunus armeniaca kernel oil*, cocoglycerides, simmondsia chinensis oil*, cetyl alcohol, cetearyl olivate, sorbitan olivate, zea mays starch*, glyceryl caprylate, brassica oleracea italica seed oil*, sodium citrate, citric acid, tocopheryl acetate.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Green Clay Paste
Safin 11/10/2010 3:48:00 PM
In the Netherlands we can buy green clay in powder form and in a paste. The paste is the same as the powder, only already mixed with water in a tube. I used this as a mask, which worked very well, but I heard that some people use clay masks as a cleanser and I wanted to try that too. I have a hard time to find a cleanser for my sensitive acne prone skin, because the foaming ones are making my skin more sensitive and that even causes more acne and the cream ones don't cleanse good enough. I didn't expect this to work so good as a cleanser, it cleanses my skin perfectly, it removes the sebum out of my pores and my face becomes softer and more even every day (I use it for 2 weeks now). It is a bit exfoliating, but after I have removed the clay with water my skin looks calm without any redness. The brands that sell this green clay in the Netherlands are Argiletz and Vertagil. Edit 5-2011: In the long run, this turned out to be a great mask, but wasn't suitable as a cleanser. It was not irritating and it made my skin soft, but I developed a lot of clogged pores.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Almond Soothing Facial Lotion
Safin 11/10/2010 3:15:00 PM
I am trying to find an organic skincare regime for my acne prone sensitive oily skin and I thought a good moisturizer would be the most difficult to find, but I bought this 3 weeks ago and I love it. I was afraid that the oils in organic moisturizers would make my acne worse, but the almond oil in this Weleda moisturizer doesn't. The cream sinks in my skin very vast and makes it soft, comfortable and hydrated. At the end of the day, my skin does become oily, but I have that even when I don't use a moisturizer. I decided for a moisturizer from the Weleda Almond line, because this one has a short ingredientlist without fragrance. Dr.Hauschka for example is less safe when it comes to the ingredientlist.

Conditioner -The Body Shop - Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter
Safin 11/10/2010 2:27:00 PM
I like that the Body Shop started to sell this 'organic' haircare line, but when I buy a mask like product for my hair, I expect deep conditioning, this hair butter does nothing for my hair, a big disappointment. The smell is nice, but comes from synthetic fragrance, not organic.

Conditioner -John Masters - Citrus & Neroli Detangler
Safin 11/10/2010 2:13:00 PM
I love this conditioner. I have a lot of fine hair and as a leave-in this makes my hair too oily (even if I use just a little bit), but as a rinse out it is perfect. It detangles without making my hair too heavy. Another pro, it is Organic without nasty ingredients. The only con is the price, 20 euro in The Netherlands. Update 12/28: after adding some highlights in my hair, it became very dry. With this hair condition, this conditioner worked best as a leave-in.

Gels/Soaps -Sebamed - Cleansing Shower Oil
Safin 10/27/2010 4:09:00 PM
I like this shower oil a lot. The smell is sweet, the texture good and the price is okay. My skin is not dried out as with shower gels. I think it is almost simular to the Eucerin shower oil. The bottle is not very convenient, there is an old fashioned screw hull.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - Decubal - Facial Cleanser
Safin 9/18/2010 6:49:00 AM
Decubal is new on the Dutch market. It is a Danish brand for dry skin. I was pleased to find a foaming cleanser in their range, without all the bad ingredients like, parabenes, sls, sles and frangrance. This cleanser is indeed mild, it foames up nice and feels creamy on the skin, but like all the foaming cleansers still a bit drying. Ingredients: Glycerin; Aqua; Sodium Cocoamphoacetate; PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil; Niacinamide; Sucrose Cocoate; Allantoin; Caprylyl Glycol; Bisabolol; Sodium Gluconate; Citric Acid. Edit november 2010: Although this is an okay cleanser, it was not for me, my skin became very inflamed from this and it made my acne worse.

Moisturizers -Sebamed - Clear Face Care Gel
Safin 9/18/2010 6:33:00 AM
If you are on a search for a perfect oilfree moisturizer, this is a good option. It is a safe gel, without parbenes, silicones, fragrance and oil. This gel will not clog your pores or cause any type of acne. But, if you are a little older (like me) it is not moisturizing enough, we do need a little oil now and than.

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Dr.Organic - Tea Tree Shampoo
Safin 7/29/2010 1:54:00 PM
My scalp is itching sometimes, with a little seb derm. I don't want to use dandruff shampoos from the drugstores, because they are so packed with chemicals. Tea Tree Oil is an alternative that I wanted to try. I use the Tea Tree Conditioner together with this Tea Tree Shampoo with good results. My scalp feels very fresh and tingling when using this and it does not irritate my scalp more than it is. The texture is a bit runny, but I don't see that as a big problem. Ingredients from packaging: aloe barbadensis leaf juice, aqua, decyl glucoside, cocamidopropyl betaine, sodium cocoamphoacetate, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, glycerin, peg-7 glyceryl cocoate, sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate, lauryl glucoside, coco-glucoside, glyceryl oleate, melaleuca alternifolia oil, menta piperita oil, glyceryl caprylate, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, sodium phytate, citric acid, limonene. Edit 11-2011: I bought the tea tree shampoo for the second time (after a break for a year) and actually I am sure now that I don't like it at all. Somehow the Dr.Organic shampoos make your hair very dry and tangly and on the other hand the scalp doesn't feel very clean. I hoped that the tea tree oil would make my scalp less itchy, but it doesn't.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Dr.Organic - Tea Tree Conditioner

My scalp is itching sometimes, with a little seb derm. I don't want to use dandruff shampoos from the drugstores, because they are so packed with chemicals. Tea Tree Oil is an alternative that I wanted to try. I use this Tea Tree Conditioner together with the Tea Tree Shampoo with good results. My scalp feels very fresh and tingling (in a good way) when using this and it does not irritate my scalp at all. This Tea Tree Conditioner is a bit lighter than the Manuka Conditioner from Dr. Organic, which is good for me, because my hair is very fine. Ingredients from packaging: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Aqua, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, melaleuca alternifolia oil, Butyrospermum Parki Butter, Glyceryl Caprylate, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Panthenol, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Choride, menta piperita oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Phytate, limonene.

Cleansers -Eucerin - Redness Relief Soothing Cleanser
Safin 7/29/2010 1:21:00 PM
My skin is oily, sensitive, and acne/rosacea prone. Foaming cleansers are too drying most of the time and cream cleansers don't cleanse good enough. This cleanser comes in a non-foaming gel formula, which is not too drying. The gel is difficult to rinse off, so I like to use this in the shower the most. Sometimes it is a bit tingling, so I think that when your face is very very sensitive this is not for you. The ingredientlist is not the safest (there is SLES and paraben in it), but overall an okay cleanser. Update 8-22-2010 My skin is too sensitive for this cleanser, my rosacea got worse and my skin started to burn and itch. Unbelievable that they made this product for sensitive rosacea skin, it made my condition worse!

Treatments -Phyto - Phyto 7
Safin 7/29/2010 1:05:00 PM
This product is such a disappointment. My hair is fine and long and I experienced that leave-in conditioners can be a good solution for my hairtype (becomes limp/oily very quickly). But the Phyto is doing nothing at all for my hair. My hair didn't become shiny, moisturized, soft or detangled. It didn't matter if I used a little or a lot and it didn't matter if I used it on wet or on dry hair, it just didn't do anything. I bought this because the reviews on MUA are good and because the ingredientlist looks not too bad, but with this results I will not buy again.

Sunscreen -Eucerin - Sun Lotion extra light texture 30
Safin 6/5/2010 9:23:00 AM
This sun lotion is unfortunately not fragrance free, but I use it only on my body (not my face) and till now no problems with the fragrance. It is indeed a light lotion, which is only possible when used chemical sunscreen ingredients. What can I say more, it does a good job, it is light and it doesn't irritate my skin.

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - 5 percent Urea Hand Cream
Safin 6/5/2010 9:15:00 AM
I live in Holland and I think this Urea Hand Cream is the same as the Eucerin Plus Intensive Repair Hand Cream (which is sold in the US). I love that this hand cream is fragrance free and I love that, like a lot of Eucerin moisturizers, it doesn't leave a heavy/oily layer on the skin. It does a good job and is not too pricy (7 euro). I have the feeling that the Hemp hand cream from the Body Shop is a bit more repairing, so for wintertime I think I will buy the Hemp one.

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Visiblecare (NutriumMoisture)
Safin 6/5/2010 8:58:00 AM
This shower cream is indeed soft (I have the softening version, purple package) and does not dry out my skin. But I hate the overwelming chemical scent and there are so many bad chemicals in this, that I actually don't know why I bought it in the first place! If you want a softer skin buy the Eucerin Shower Oil, or don't use a shower creme at all, I am sure that your skin will thank you in the long run.
