Toners -Dr. Hauschka - Clarifying Toner
rated 4 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 1:01:00 PM

I've been using this toner for a while now, since I tend to have an oily t-zone. I use it after the Cleansing Milk. I spritz it on my face and then press it into my skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and when I use it after washing my face at night, my skin looks really clear and fresh when I wake up the next day. It's also pretty hydrating and my skin doesn't dry out after I use it. I tend to be a bit dubious about toners and use them off and on, but I do like this one. I'm taking off one lipstick because I still don't think it's as absolutely necessary to use as a good cleanser and moisturizer, but it's still the best toner I've used yet.

Moisturizers -Dr. Hauschka - Normalizing Day Oil
rated 2 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 12:49:00 PM

I bought the oily skin kit after I went through a very oily t-zone phase and used this oil after washing with Cleansing Cream and toning with Clarifying Toner as instructed. I did not find that the Normalizing Day Oil made my skin more balanced or reduced oiliness. In fact, my skin was just as oily as before. It's very hydrating so I didn't have any dry patches of skin, it just didn't help to reduce oiliness or re-balance my skin as it's meant to. It does last a long time as you only need a 2 or 3 drops, but overall it just didn't do the job for me.

Cleansers -Dr. Hauschka - Cleansing Milk
rated 5 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 12:41:00 PM

I use this cleanser every evening and morning and it's great for my sensitive skin. My skin feels soft and clean afterwards and it doesn't cause any spots of redness like some other cleansers do. It's gentle and although I don't usually have any spots, they are less red the next day if I use this cleanser in the evening before I go to bed. I haven't found anything better yet, and I've used a lot of different cleaners. I prefer it to the Cleansing Cream just because it's silky in texture so easier to wash off.

Gels/Soaps -Ren - Moroccan Rose Otto Shower Wash
rated 5 of 5

This is a fantastic shower gel. It smells wonderful and is not really thick like some other shower gels and lathers up really well. I never liked shower gels until I used this!

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 5 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 9:47:00 AM

I was a faithful user of Lancome mascaras until I discovered Dior. Diorshow is now my favorite. I have long lashes but they're not thick and I like a mascara that lengthens as much as possible without clumping, flaking or irritating my eyes. Diorshow does the trick fantastically, and it's great for day or night. I don't ever pump or swirl, I just take the wand out as it is and wiggle it at the base of my lashes and then upward to the ends. I hold a mirror under my chin and look down as I apply as this helps my hand to move upward to curl my lashes as opposed to just outward. Great product, highly recommended.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Lancome Juicy Tubes
rated 5 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 9:37:00 AM

I've been using juicy tubes for years now and they're great. They come in tons of fabulous colors that are sheer or tinted and last for hours and hours. They are sticky, it's true, and it's not a gloss I like to wear on really windy days where I'll spend lots of time pulling my hair away from my lips, but they're worth the trouble because of the colors, shine and lasting power.

Lip Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick (no tint)
rated 5 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 9:30:00 AM

This is the closest I have come to finding my lip balm HG. It's fantastic and I have used at least 3 sticks of it so far. It's clear so it's handy for just carrying around with you everywhere and I only need to apply it once twice a day (once in the morning around 8am and once in the evening). It's the only thing I've ever used that lasts really well throughout the day and doesn't dry out my lips. I can stop wearing it for a couple of days and my lips will still feel smooth and soft, so it's actually improving the condition of my lips as no other lip balm ever has done. I bought some Creme de la Mer lip balm because a friend recommended it, but I'm kicking myself now and wish I had just gotten another stick of Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour lip balm. Once I've used up my Creme de la Mer, I'll be going back to this and sticking with it.

Lip Treatments -La Mer - Lip Balm
rated 2 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 9:20:00 AM

I bought this balm recently after a friend of mine raved about it. After using it for a few weeks, I've decided I won't be buying it again. It's a decent lip balm so it makes your lips feel smooth and it's nice that it looks really natural on your skin and not ultra shiny, but it doesn't have great lasting power. I need to reapply it three times a day to keep my lips from getting dry, so it doesn't have the lasting power that Smith's Rosebud Salve or Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour lip balm have. The smell is okay if you like mint. As with most lip balms that come in a pot, fluff and stuff tends to get in the pot or around the lid which you have to clean out all the time, which is why I tend to prefer lip balms in stick form. Overall, it's okay but it's definitely not the best lip balm I've ever used and it's by far the most expensive. So to those that are cost conscious, I would suggest going with something else that's cheaper and will work just as well (like Smith's Rosebud Salve or Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour lip balm.

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Rosebud Salve
rated 4 of 5

I used to use this balm religiously. I would apply it in the morning, and it would leave me lips soft and smooth for almost the whole day. I would only have to reapply a little after several hours. It's not really expensive and it works quite well and is a great multi tasker because you can use it for bug bites, rashes or any other type of skin irritation. I've given it a 4 instead of a 5 because if I stopped using it for a day, my lips would feel really, really dry. So it didn't seem to be improving the overall condition of my lips. Whereas with Ellizabeth Arden's 8 Hour lip balm, I could go a day or two without wearing it and my lips still felt soft and smooth, so it was actually helping the condition of my lips. But Smith's Rosebud Salve is still a great choice for someone who wants something that lasts a long time, wears a long time and isn't that expensive.

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - French Vanilla spf 15
rated 1 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 9:04:00 AM

I used this product a while ago and stopped after one day. I bought it because I had heard good things and it's pretty cheap. It did absolutely nothing for me. After half an hour I had to reapply, and kept reapplying several times throughout the day because this product seemed to have no staying power. I have the same problem with lots of cheaper drug store balms and chapsticks. The smell is nice, the tube is really well designed, but it doesn't keep my lips smooth or moisturized throughout the day.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Active Moist
rated 3 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 8:45:00 AM

I went through a phase recently where I was breaking out a lot on my chin and my skin seemed unusually oily, so I bought this to help with that and my dryer patches of skin elsewhere. It was okay. It didn't help very much with my dry patches of skin and didn't leave my skin feeling soft like other moisturizers I've used. I stopped using it and switched to Dr Haushka's Rose Day Cream Light, which seems to work a lot better for me. Anyway, I didn't really dislike this moisturizer, I just felt it wasn't really doing anything great for my skin.

Moisturizers -Dr. Hauschka - Rose Day Cream
rated 3 of 5

I found this product to be too rich for my skin. My skin is oily in some places and very dry in others as well as being sensitive. This moisturizer absorbed into my skin really quickly and took care of my dry spots instantly, but left my skin feeling a bit greasy. I think it's very good but just a bit too rich for my skin and would suit people with just very dry skin quite well. I use the Rose Day Cream Light now, which suits me much better.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
rated 2 of 5

I got this as a free sample once and was really disappointed since loads of people love it. I was going through a very dry face phase and it did absolutely nothing for me. It didn't sink in well to my skin and I felt like I had to use loads for it to have any affect. It just wasn't the right moisturizer for me.

Eye Makeup Remover -Lancome - Bi-Facil Double Action Eye Make-up Remover
rated 5 of 5
PamdaBear 7/6/2008 8:19:00 AM

This is a fantastic product. I have very sensitive eyes and have tried several different eye makeup removers (bottled and wipes, drug store brands and expensive big name brands). Everything else irritates my skin and leaves me with a burning sensation around my eyes or on any part of my skin that the makeup remover touches. This one is the only one that removes my eye makeup easily and quickly and leaves my eyes feeling soothed and clean. I even use it all over my face sometimes after I've removed my eye makeup and it's amazing how much gunk it removes from my skin. It's my HG eye makeup remover - I won't use anything else now.
