I love this! It feels like it gets my skin cleaner than the regular PMS. I can tell it gets all the makeup, dirt, and oil off, however, it DOES NOT get off my Dior Blackout Waterproof mascara, but then again, my HG YSL eye makeup remover won't get that off either...my skin looks a bit clearer(i've only used it two or three times) but I won't really know until I go back on the pills I'm taking for my acne (which is mild with the pills and severe without). Overall, I just love this!! I will never need another evening cleanser..
Love this! It works super well on my cheeks, but I have to use more of this than I do with benetint. I'm medium-fair, so after reading the reviews I wasn't sure I would like it. But when I was at the Benefit counter, I was looking at the posietint and debating over it because it was just so cute when the SA came up and was like, "would you like to try it?" She used the That Gal, then the Get Even, then the posie tint. She used a little bit too much, and I kind of felt like a hooker, so I tried to rub it off in the Nordstrom bathroom, but to my surprise it wouldn't come off. But that's a plus in my book, since most of my makeup evaporates after awhile. I wore it today, but it didn't really show up on my lips, just my cheeks. I would probably have to use more of it, I guess. I didn't feel the burn like other reviewers said. Overall Rating: 4.
Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow BlackOut Waterproof
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 7/5/2008 5:05:00 AM
I just bought this tonight and put it on before the fireworks in the Nordstrom dressing room (insane..lol...). My eyelashes looked so long! However, I did put it over my Chanel Inimitable Waterproof, but the curl was already starting to droop, so I curled them again, and put two coats on. My lashes were long and glossy and gorgeous. It lasted through lunch, four hours on the beach waiting for the fireworks, and then an hour for the fireworks, and the monstrous traffic-ridden drive home. I almost hated to wash it off! EDIT: It's a good thing I didn't want to wash it off...it doesn't COME OFF. It took heavy duty YSL eye makeup remover, which DIDN'T COME OFF, I tried olive oil, which works for every other kind of normal mascara, and I tried Purity Made Simple. In the end, the only thing that worked was my using my finger nails to scrape the mascara off the individual lashes, which was a pain in the a**. My lashes fell off. The one night I didn't do it, I woke up with an eye infection, so now I can't wear ANY mascara/eyeliner/eyeshadow until that has cleared up. It went back to Sephora, needless to say.
This is the worst mascara I have ever used!! It smudges like the devil, isn't even on at the end of the day (like..midnight??) and when I try to get it off at a reasonable hour, it rips my eyelashes out PAINFULLY and gets in my eyes and burrnnnsss...I hate it:( I loonnnnggg for my Diorshow again:(
Lotions/ Creams -Origins - A Perfect World body cream
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 6/30/2008 3:07:00 AM
Love this!! Since it's so expensive, I usually only use it on sunburns, which I originally bought it for. It's majorly moisturizing, which I love, so I use it on elbows and knees sometimes too. And when I'm sick, I lay around on the couch and rub lotion on my arms, chest and legs while I watch TV. I really recommend this for sunburns and really dry skin. It feels even better on hot skin when you put it in the refrigerator(=
Love this!! I never even thought of using Noxzema ... and then I was randomly searching MUA when I found Noxzema and read the reviews. WOW. I was absolutely blown away when I started using this. My face went through a brief purging period, but now my skin is gorgeous...and the only way I can describe it is "strawberries and cream". I have like...2 zits, and the rest of my skin is flawless and clear...HOT DAMN. I am sooo in love!! EDIT: Wow. I have discovered the most amazing (pretty simple!) regimen that keeps my skin soooo clear! In the morning, I put on the Noxzema, and leave it on while I brush my teeth. Then I gently wipe it off with a soft, warm, damp washcloth, then rinse with warm water. I dry off with a clean towel, and dampen a cotton facial pad with cold water, then cold lemon juice, which I apply like a toner. I wait until the lemon juice has dried, then pat on La Mer skin cream. At night, I use EVOO and rub it in my skin, then use Purity Made Simple foaming cleanser to remove the superfluous oil, which leaves my skin soft and moisturized. Then I apply my night time acne meds, and then-voila!- I wake up with clear, glowing, almost oil free skin after 8-10+ sleep. If I have any stubborn blemishes, I've found that The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil is really good on a q-tip to dab on. I also exfoliate once-twice a week with The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil facial scrub, and use the Tea Tree Oil face mask twice a week (except, instead of leaving it on for ten minutes like it says, I leave it on for 2/3/4 hours, or however long it takes for it to dry completely.
ugh.too musky, too cloying...i tried this on in sephora, after reading the reviews on makeup alley. I thought it was...nice...in the bottle, but remembering Amazing Grace (which I hated in the bottle, but fell in love with on my skin), I sprayed it on my wrists. Not bad, I thought. I wore it around, we went in to Macy's. Suddenly my mom looks over and was like ... what perfume did you try on again?? and I was like agent provacteur maitresse...and she said..whooa....old lady-ish and gross...can you wash it off?? i went to the bathroom and tried to scrub it off...i took a deep whiff and was almost sick to my stomach by it...but it just wouldn't come off. I was like ahhhh nooooo!!!!!!!!! No way in hell would I buy this...I'm sure it works for some people, maybe it's my age and body chemistry, but I feel nauseating and like...a hundred years old wearing this...
This is the most beautiful perfume I've ever smelled.Honestly. I love floral perfumes (I usually wear J'adore) but this goes beyond. It reminds me of Mr. Darcy's garden on Pride and Prejudice, where he confronts Elizabeth when he finds her in his mansion. There's something in the drydown though, not necessarily a bad thing, but it's a slightly musky-animalic scent that makes this perfume a little...wilder than it appears at first glance? It's like a society lady who wears pearls and Chanel suits...with stilettos and a garter belt. I love the way it smells on me, like a beautiful garden by the sea...it's not something that everyone would like, but I think it is something that everyone should try. UPDATE: I actually got a bottle of this for my 16th birthday. Every special occasion would find me wearing my FAVORITE perfume, Joy. So, of course I brought it with me to graduation, and left it in my parents car to put it on for the reception afterward, where it was STOLEN!! So, until I save up the money to buy a new bottle, I will have to just savor my memories of wearing Joy:(
Wow. I got this as a free gift about a year ago, and since I had so many perfumes just let it sit on my shelf of unused beauty products (which is getting fuller by the day...). So last night I was rummaging through it and found this bottle. I sprayed it on my wrist this morning, and just cannot stop smelling it!! It's a little strong, and a little too sweet, but somehow I still really like it. I don't think I could wear it everyday, or I would get really nauseous really fast...but occasionally, I would definately wear it.
I love this!! I have the kind with aloe in it...I was a little nervous about using it, considering the reviews here on MUA, but I went ahead and tried it anyway, because I'm the laziest leg shaver in the world. I tried a test on my knee, and left it, immensely worried. To my surprise-nothing happened!! So I did the rest of my legs, and all the hair came off my calves. A week later, the hair was growing back so I did it on my calves and thighs, and ooohhh lala- smooth legs for summer(= The smell is my only problem with it, it makes my bathroom smell like a wet dog for an hour and the scent doesn't wash off my hands with regular hand soap. It is a bit tingly, but the tingle, the smell, and the five/seven minute wait is totally worth it. It takes less time and effort to do than shaving, and I can read while it's...doing whatever it does to the hair on my legs, which I can't do with shaving. SO, in concluison, I would most def. buy again.
This was my HG for awhile. Not anymore, not it's a toss up btwn. J'adore and Coco Mademoiselle. I tend to gravitate towards oriental/floriental/floral...this is lovely, I don't really see how it's generic. I also don't see how it's "sheer and tropical" either though. With this, I get a lot of chocolate, vanilla, and the amber notes that are listed. Also, even though it isn't listed, I smell a hint of gardenia and plumera, maybe it's just me? And maybe some pineapple, IDK...but I love it, and another thing I like is that the boys like it too(= I don't think this is a fragrance JUST for teenagers. I can see people of all ages wearing this, really. A grandmother, a mother, a teenager...I think it all depends on the type of woman- someone who is flirty, but still down to earth, and spontaneous, but still kind of reliable at the same time.
Moisturizers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Do It Daily SPF12
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 5/21/2008 9:01:00 PM
This is pretty good.My skin is getting better with this. I don't really like how it tingles when I put it on (not like a burning tingling...still.I just don't care for it). It doesn't make my skin oily, break it out, or make it dry. IDK if I'll buy a full size of it, but I may next month. Right now I'm using the samples, and I only have one left. But I think my mom has some so I'll just use hers since she isn't and won't. I also like the packaging-so cute! And the advertisement "the prettiest girls are the ones who do it daily" made my friends and I laugh(=
Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 5/17/2008 12:23:00 AM
love it!! Unlike most of the reviews I've read on here,, I haven't tried the Double Wear. I was going to buy it, but then I saw that Double Wear LIght had a higher "buy again"percentage so I bought that. I'm so glad I did! I still love my Stila Illuminating Foundation, don't get me wrong, but my face was breaking out SO BAD(still is!) so I decided to try a new foundation. I figured that since I have to switch moisturizers every so often, maybe I have to do that with foundations as well. So I bought this without the help of an SA, and I got shade Number 2, which blends flawlessly. It covers up nearly all my blemishes and what isn't covered, I use the YSL concealer on. On that I use the Transluscent Powder. With all three, my skin looks gorgeous and flawless. It doesn't hold all oilies at bay (at least not right now-I'll update in a week or two when my skin is clearer or when the vog is gone), so by about 12/12:30, I have to blot and repowder. Not a big deal to me. Once again..I am in love...(= UPDATE:my skin is getting clearer(= however...since this coverage is kind of sheer, I have to do several steps to make my skin perfect: moisturize, then put streaks of Benefit You're Bluffing concealer on my tzone, which blocks out the redness and covers up spots, THEN I put on the foundation. If there are any marks left that I can see, I use the YSL concealer, and finish up with the Aeromatte Pressed Powder(= flawless skin and only one touch up all day at lunch time(=
Mascara -Estee Lauder - MagnaScopic Maximum Volume Mascara
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 5/15/2008 1:50:00 AM
I love this mascara (even though it kind of looks like I'm in the minority)! I put on a single coat, which lengthened my lashes considerably but gave them only a tiny bit of volume. So I put a second coat on with my eyes 3/4 way closed and WOW, the tips reached almost my eyebrows and each individual lash was plump and sexy, like a lash commercial. After the second coat, I attempted a third, but it made my lashes clump. Oh well. It really wasn't necessary to put a third coat, my lashes were already awesome(=
Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Extra Virgin Olive Oil
PRiNCESSMAHiNA 5/3/2008 10:31:00 PM
Hmm, well...I just used this last night...I was a little skeptical though...I mean, my face tends to be the oily side of combination, and putting more oil on it seemed...idiotic. Anywayzz...I put water on my face, then I poured a little into my palm and rubbed it into my skin, like a cleanser. I splashed some more water on and then used my Purity Made Simple over it. Then I put my usual night time acne meds over it..and voila...twelve hours later when I woke up, my face looked like it had just been washed(= I also tried using honey, but it made my skin look gross and broke me out like no other.
