Foundations -Scott Barnes - Canvas Kit in Medium (Foundation & Concealer)
rated 4 of 5

It reminds me very much of Cover Girls' aquasmooth, in the consistency. And, if anyone is familiar with INuovi's base, it's similar to that or, even Shu Uemura's Nobara. Kind of cream-to-powderish (but, not too powderish that it looks cakey). I'm a little dry so I found that I needed to moisturize a little before applying. If applying sparingly it's fine. However, this isn't an exceptional product. Part of the problem I had with this is that although I picked up the medium shade it seems a *little* too light for MAC NC35. It works for now, but with summer coming up, I think I'm going to try for the medium. The color selection is limited: light, medium and dark. I wish I could see it just a little darker, I think it may be limiting to many, thus the 4 rating. Again, will update as week wears on. update: Just found out from QVC that it was indeed the light kit that was sent to me. So, with that in mind, I'm returning it and checking out the medium shade. for the price, it's not a bad combo. Once I see the right color, I'll be able to better decide if it works for me. I will update with the new one as soon as I get it.

Blush -Scott Barnes - Chic Palette
rated 5 of 5

I had written a review on this, but now that there's a section for this, I'll redo it. I love this palette. It's three pink-based blushes that go on for a natural look. The brightest pink reminds me of a true-pink based Angel (by Mac), There's another one that is more baby pink, while the last one in the set is lavendar-based shimmer. It really does leave a beautiful glow---especially when paired up with th St. Tropez bronzer from the same line (I pretty much got it all!). Does not disappoint! I do wish it'd had come with a brush, or something, though!

Conditioner -Graham Webb - Halo Drench Hydrating Conditioner
rated 3 of 5

I've used this product three times and am not really impressed with it, other than it does give great shine! I find my hair to be dry and not as soft as I expected. Nothing compares to my HG, and I find that if it'd been in a pump, that'd been better.

Bronzers -Scott Barnes - Body Bling all over body bronzer
rated 4 of 5
MusesX9 4/12/2004 7:44:00 PM

The infamous Body Bling! I've waited for what seems like an eternity for this--as have most people, I'm sure! So, is it worth it? This is almost identical to DuWop's Revolution but less orangey. Again, it all depends upon amount of application. I began with a small amount and found that for my skin, it didn't do a lot. As I applied more, it developed into a beautiful color. The cavaets, however, may be significant: depending on your skin tone, you may need more than Revolution. Also, it has gold-based shimmer that is definitely more obvious. It's beautiful, but not practical for everyday as I had hoped. I like to use Revolution for right after the tub, as I'm going to work. I can't do this with this product. The color is beautiful, but the shimmer may be too much for some. Well, that's it girls! I plan on roadtesting this for a while before I post real reviews, however, I will post what I have listed here as a preliminary review and update. UPDATE: I used this and, although my initial review stands, I do like it. I intend on keeping it. It goes soooo well with my color and was so easy to apply. However, I will say that apply sparingly and build if you're not sure.

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Paves Deep Conditioning Shine Milk
rated 2 of 5

I wish I could like this. When I heard about it, I ran out and got the whole line (BOGOF). I hate it. I have had better luck with my NutriVive (orange) line. It's supposed to deep condition hair, but my hair felt heavy and sticky (like excess product). It coated my hair almost but didn't leave it feeling soft. There's shine but my frizzies are full rampant (thank goodness for BioSilk, it helped a little). I feel it puffing as I write---and I'm inside. This is a dud. Save your money and get the NutriVive!

I use this in conjunction with the Styling Grooming Aid 133. I have been using this combination for years off and on and I love this! I thought I had reviewed it and just realized I never did! It's a shame, this really deserves more attention.

I love this! I discovered this at a great drugstore by me and am swearing by it. I never thought I'd find anything to rival my beloved, HG Kerastase but I have! I found it for $8.99 for the big tub. I use it as a deep conditioner and as a daily one as well. Recommend this highly!

Treatments -Kerastase - Oleo-Relax Serum
rated 4 of 5

This is one of my faves. I've been using this for years now and realized I had never written a review! It does leave my hair so soft and silky. But, these are it's shortcomings: would love more frizz control after (hours later a little less frizz control can be seen), more shine, spray-on version--even if it's lighter, and maybe even a gel version for more solid or heavier control. Price? Expensive in U.S. and something so that it doesn't leak.

I love this! I thought I had found my HG in Nars' casino, well this gives it a true run for its money. Incredible! It looks darker in the container which cared me. I love it.

Lip Gloss -Giorgio Armani - Lip Shimmer #1

I love this! I wish it stayed as long as the Chanel glossimers, but truly this color is beautiful and natural looking. My lips sparkled (with tiny little microglitters but not thick enough that it looks like glitter or anything). I received so many compliments that I needed to post this immediately!

Blush -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Blush #2

This is one of the best blushes out there (on par with NARS', actually). I love the feel and naturalness of it. However, it hurts to pay that much money for it. The packaging is excellent. The colors are great and wearable and buildable. This color is like a nudey-pink...very neutral and yet can give some color. Looks natural and feels great going on. Does not feel cakey and did not break me out. Price kills me...thus the less lipsticks

Concealers -Kevyn Aucoin - The Sensual Skin Enhancer

Thanks to one of the best swappers ever, I had the privilege of getting this as an extra. Even though it is a small pot, a little goes such a long way. Some people have said that it's not easy, etc. Well, I've got to say, it's been fantastic for me. I wash my face, dampen my sponge, put on my moisturizer, pat two "dots" literally only two dots (not pea size, but half of that) and using sponge work it in from outer frame of face. It looks gorgeous! I usually use MAC NC35-40 (depending on the time of the year) and found that SX-07 to be a great match. Some people said that it was hard to maneuver, but I have found that by moisturizing ahd just using a concealer brush to spot some small amount on my face (like the size of three-four pin heads?) and blend it with a damp sponge I look flawless. I don't even need to use loose powder! ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS!

This is my favorite. I've gotten older and need the help! LOL! This cuts it great! I notice people love my "look" when I'm wearing this. I alternate this and the GA LSF and this is my super, special, secret, HG look. I thought I had found the right foundation but this is great.

I wanted to love this. Really, I did. I have heard so many raves. But, man! What a disappointment! At first, it looks great. But, it made my pores look huge, oily after a short time, faded in other areas and, worst of all, I BROKE OUT BADLY! Grrr! Up for swap!
