Lip Gloss -MAC - c-thru lipglass
Meljolie 2/14/2009 8:57:00 PM
This is my favourite nude lip gloss. That's all I have to say. :) The scent is delish and it goes on sheer but can be built thicker. It looks gorgeous on and I love the applicator. Definitely repurchasing!

Lip Treatments -MAC - Hello Kitty -- Popster Tinted Lip Conditioner
Meljolie 2/14/2009 8:54:00 PM
I'm so glad my sister talked me into buying this! I love love love it! 1) It's Hello Kitty! Hell-oo. :) 2) I've been looking for a new lip conditioner since I ran out of my MAC one.. the one in the white tube It's a pretty coral pink that applies smoothly onto your lips. It turns up pretty sheer for me because I just like to lightly apply 1 coat. Usually I'm not a fan of using bottled lip products because of the hassle of taking out a sticky lip brush that I have to wash everyday and the annoyance of having something sticky on your finger if you use it to apply your product. Oh well. This product is well worth it! I use my Quo retractable lip brush from Shoppers in Canada! I just stash this and the brush in my makeup bag and reapply throughout the day! I probably can't live without this now! Haha, did I mention, I'm in love with the bottle? The lid is the cutest thing ever. I really don't want to get it scratched. :P

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
Meljolie 2/14/2009 8:47:00 PM
HG gel eyeliner! I have tried Bobbi Brown, Smashbox and even drugstore's Jane but I haven't found any I liked as much as this one! I love the cute bottle, the intensity of the black (without being to flat and boring) and staying power! I use my Trish Mcevoy eyeliner brush, either Angled Eye-Lining Brush #50 or Precise Eyelining Brush #11. I use #11 for a more thinner, clean line. Anyways, I'm pretty good with using a liner brush now so I just use 1-2 strokes to glide this product across my lash line and it results in a clean, brilliantly black line that really defines my eyes and makes them look bigger and brighter. For day, I just draw in a thin black line but for night, I just wipe it on for a thicker, sexier line and it looks amazing. It also doesn't flake throughout the day and doesn't fade too noticably! Stays true black and stays perfect, as long as you don't rub it too much! Amazing product! I will repurchase this whenever I run out!

Eyeliner -MAC - Technakohl Liner in Auto-de-blu
Meljolie 2/14/2009 8:36:00 PM
First of all, I'm obsessed with the neutral liner on top lashes and a pop of colour on bottom lashes look. I have only used cheap NYC ones for lining my lower lashes but I had some problems with staying power. I decided to spend some more money and get this liner. What a pleasant surprise! It doesn't smudge unless I rub my eye like crazy. It stays on and has wonderful pigmentation. It goes on as a deep blue that really makes my eyes pop! It goes on so smoothly and has such a creamy formula.. I love it! Doesn't tug at all and doesn't irritate my eyes. I will definitely repurchase if I ever run out!

Eyeliner -MAC - Technakohl Eyeliner in Purple Dash
Meljolie 2/14/2009 8:32:00 PM
Oh what a disappointing purchase. I bought this on impulse and now I wish I hadn't. I wanted to use it to line the bottom lashes. I usually do purple or blue for that look so I wanted to try this plum, smouldering-looking liner. What a mistake. The pigmentation isn't very good and it looks so dull and dead against my skin. The staying power is also pretty awful. Doesn't last through the day and I end up having to reapply at lunchtime. Pretty expensive too but I love the shiny, gorgeous look of the liner. :( I think I will stick to Auto-de-Blu for Technakohl liner! This is definitely a waste of money!

Eyeliner -MAC - Smolder eye kohl
Meljolie 2/14/2009 8:28:00 PM
I love this eyeliner! It's the perfect blackest black eyeliner for me! It looks gorgeous for an edgy, everyday look but can be thickened and smudged for the perfect simple smokey eye! I love the "look" of this on. It's a pearl and matte finish, as described on the website. It doesn't fade and stays put all day. The pigmentation is great too. It goes on super black and stays that way. It also glides on smoothly without tugging my eyelids! It doesn't poke and too hard but it's not buttery soft so that it'll break and slide off your eye. Absolutely must have for me when I'm looking for eyeliner! Price is kinda high but I don't use this eyeliner everyday so it'll definitely last me a while! Love love love this eyeliner!

Mascara -MAC - Pro Longlash
Meljolie 2/14/2009 8:21:00 PM
This is just an average mascara for me. It lengthens and holds the curl but it's just for super natural, everyday wear. Too natural for me. I only put on two-three coats because when I over apply it, I just get clumps and it doesn't keep your lashes curled through the day. The price is a bit high for me since I don't like MAC mascaras. I won't be repurchasing. I prefer CoverGirl Last Exact over this!

Skincare - Face -Shiseido - Facial Cotton
Meljolie 2/14/2009 1:38:00 AM
These are the best cotton pads I've used for my face. I use this to apply on toner and it just glides on without tug. I got this on sale for $9 and it was in a "frosted" plastic cover, with Shiseido printed in red on the middle and three rows of facial cotton on it! It's lasted me for a while now so it's definitely worth the price!

Lips -Cover Girl - Outlast Lipstain
Meljolie 2/12/2009 11:42:00 PM
This is probably the BEST lip stain I've used. I have previously tried Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain (I didn't like the colours they offered), that Stila one for cheeks and lips, Benefit Benetint Pocket Pal (I love the bright red!), Laura Mercier and Urban Decay lip envy but this is my favourite so far! It's the cheapest too. I first bought this in Flirty Nude which appears as a soft, faint pink tint on my lips and looks amazing for everyday wear. Then I went back and HAD to purchase more! Now I have it in Wild Berry Wink, Coy Coral and Teasing Blush (my favourite!) Unfortunately, it can be a bit drying so I made sure to moisturize my lips with Vaseline during the night while I'm sleeping. It's not good to throw on something below your lip stain because the colour will not absorb as well as if you just put it on bare lips. Luckily, it's just right.. not too dry and not to wet. I've had experience with super dry stains and it makes your lips look horrible and ones that are too moist will cause your lip stain to be not long lasting. So this lip stain is water based.. which is I love. :) But what I love more is that this is actually a lip stain! It's long lasting and stays true to the colour for hours, even after you eat. Also, the applicator is the best. It's so easy to use! Much better than having to swipe the product out from a little glass bottle using a brush or something like that. The "marker"-like applicator makes it so easy to follow the lines of your lips and make it look super natural. It also doesn't bleed out throughout the day, which would be horrible. It stays in and just fades a TINY bit near the end. I want to buy this in every colour possible! It's just that good! Try it!

Eyeliner -Elizabeth Arden - Eye Pencil in Umber
Meljolie 2/8/2009 9:24:00 PM
I love this eyeliner pencil. It goes on smoothly, looks super natural but still defined and looks lightly smoky. My only problem with this is that it doesn't last. I doesn't still put at all, even if I don't touch my eyelids. I don't have a problem with this with my other eyeliners so I think it's just this one. :/ It doesn't tug at my eyelids at all and goes on so smoothly. The colour looks natural when I'm not in the mood for black eyeliner and really makes my eyes look so much more brighter and awake. It gives definition but it doesn't make you look like your wearing tons of eyeliner. I will definitely repurchase, but I just wished it was more long lasting. :(

Blush -Almay - Smart Shade Blush
Meljolie 2/7/2009 3:44:00 PM
I purchased this in Pink Rose and I really thought that this blush could be really good. I was looking for a replacement for my usual Clinique ones, hoping to spend less money. What a disappointment! The colour is a w f u l, if you can see colour at all! It literally disappeared right when I blended it in and you can barely see anything unless you look super closely and under a bright light. I wish I read the reviews on here first. Ugh. Total waste of money.

Foundations -Almay - Pure Blends 97.4% natural
Meljolie 2/7/2009 3:40:00 PM
I love love love this product. I don't mind that the coverage is pretty sheer because I treat this like a tinted moisturizer, even though it's not super moisturizing. I do my concealer (from Maybelline, the highlighter/concealer duo) on my cheeks, forehead, chin, nose and undereye circles. Then I put this stuff on my face using a sponge or a foundation brush.. whatever I have handy. And finish off with a dusting of a matte powder over the top. The finishing looks super natural but evens out my skintone. The matte powder is from Shiseido. I really like how this product seems "pure" as opposed to some of the other Almay products and drugstore foudations out there. I doesn't break me out and doesn't cause my face to look like a fell into a pool of oil. It also doesn't oxidize throughout the day. Yay! :) The smell is kind of floral, like the reviewer below me mentioned but I don't mind it. The only thing is the price. For so little product, the price is quite high.. but if you use the foundation well you could get a long while out of it. Another problem is the packaging. Sometimes it kind of just comes out on its on and I don't really like the mess it creates. Other than that, I highly recommend this!

Liquid -Almay - Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15
Meljolie 2/7/2009 3:28:00 PM
This is defninitely not my favorite foundation. I prefer the Pure Blends one to this. The concept of it being a white cream and then changing into your skin's perfect tone was cool to me. So I went ahead and bought it. Anyways, the colouring was okay on my face but wasn't 100% perfect. It was a bit too dark. Unfortunately, the coverage was horrid. I just used a sponge to apply it. I was as if I put the thinnest layer of something over my face. I like how it's not heavy and feels as if you just smeared moisturizer onto your face. I doesn't feel cakey or like you're wearing a heavy mask. I kept it on for the day to see how it would work and I got quite oily by the afternoon. Not a major problem though.. I just dusted on a layer of loose matte powder. Luckily, it didn't oxidize like crazy or cause any major breakouts. I think the little bottle is cute but the price is too expensive for something like this. I wouldn't buy it again unless it's on sale. Like a really low price sale. So in other words, I won't buy this again.

Blush -Maybelline - Mineral Power Naturally Luminous Blush, all colors
Meljolie 2/6/2009 10:31:00 PM
The favorite blush for everyday wear. It looks natural and delivers a pretty colour. It gives your face an entire, radiant glow without sparkles. I currently have soft brown hair and honey tan skin and I bought this in Soft Mauve. It's not too pink and is just the perfect amount of rose. I use my Lise Waltier blush brush and I just sweep it onto the apples of my cheeks. It looks so natural and totally not overpowering. It also doesn't clog my pores and I have some red bumps on my cheeks but luckily this blush doesn't highlight them! I think the price was about $9.50 CDN and that's good enough for me. This is my fave powder blush!

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
Meljolie 2/6/2009 10:20:00 PM
After reading many positive reviews on here, I decided to go out and buy this. I tried out it today and I'm in love with it. I didn't wear foundation today, only this powder. Being applied with a brush. The coverage was decent (but I used my Maybelline highlighter/concealer duo underneath). It gave me a nice matte, glowy look. When I applied it.. I thought.. wow, I love it. Now, it has to go through the test of how long this matteness was going to last. It lasted much longer than expected and halfway through the day, my skin didn't look soaked with oil. I just reapplied at noon (I have school - 8 am to 3 pm) and I was set for the day! I found the packaging to be a bit awkward. It looked modern and different but it wasn't what I would prefer. That is probably the only problem I have with it.
