Hair -Clairol - herbal essences honey i'm strong shampoo and conditioner

I have only tried the conditioner since I don't use sulfate shampoos and all of HE shampoos have sulfates in them. I got a huge bottle of the conditioner at target since they didn't have any smaller bottles, I got the one with the pump which is great since I prefer pumps. It was only 6$ so it's definitely affordable. I've used this about half a dozen times over the last several weeks and find it has good and not so good qualities for my hair. First, I love the smell, it's awesome. Second, it does condition very well, it detangles quickly and you don't have to leave it in very long for it to moisturize. Third, it does a good job of smoothing frizzies and static. Unfortunately I have fine shoulder length hair and for daily use I need conditioners that moisturize and smooth without weighing down, and this conditioner does weigh down a bit too much for my taste. I need more body and this conditioner doesn't really help with that on me. But, that being said, I think this will be a great daily conditioner for people with thick and/or dry hair. Right now I'm either mixing it with other conditioners for the week or using it on the weekend as a deep conditioner.

Lipstick -MAC - Frost Lipstick in FETISH
rated 4 of 5

I love this color, this is the only shade of red I can wear. It's more of a reddish brown lipstick. It is not as "frosty" as some of mac's other frost lippies, though it does have a nice sheen, just enough in my opinion. I would have given it 5 stars but the color is a bit think, now don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, but the color is not buildable and I could see a lot of people not liking how light the color goes on. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Fragrances -Chanel - Allure Sensuelle
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/12/2012 8:13:00 PM

As with some other perfumes I love, this comes off a bit masculine at first. The amber, vetiver, vanilla and lavender are the strongest base notes and can be a bit reminiscent of men's cologne for the first hour or so. The floral middle notes and the citrus top notes start to rise after a while and turns this into a beautiful, and excuse the pun, sensual fragrance. It is probably always a bit androgynous, which I think is very sexy. It's a deep, dark, earthy type of sexy, not light and airy like a lot of people like these days. It also has great staying power, and the fade on this is lovely. Only down side is this is really more of a fall and winter scent, sadly I don't wear it between march and october.

Fragrances -Guerlain - Jicky

This fragrance can come off as a bit masculine during the first few spritzes because of the strong lavender and other base notes. This is probably the strongest true lavender based perfume on the market. After the first hour, however, this does calm down and the other notes start to shine. The vanilla and amber creates a warm and creamy dry down. The jasmine, rosemary, and citruses also appear after a little while and make this a very enticing and feminine skin scent. I really do like it, I found a very large refill bottle pretty cheap and I'm sure it will last a very long time. I love how old this fragrance is. It was made in 1889. I love thinking about the women from that era wearing this, so neat!

Fragrances -Clinique - Aromatics Elixir
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/11/2012 6:56:00 PM

I first smelled this on a young indian woman in a store. She smelled so amazing I stopped her and asked her what she was wearing. She told me "some new clinique scent." I went searching for this the next day and was surprised to learn this is no new scent, it's been around for over 30 years. I ordered a 4ml mini off ebay for 15$ and have been in love ever since. This is very incensey, and it is very intense. I love strong perfumes and will usually just spray once on my wrist and then dab it on pulse points all over my body, but this fragrance is almost too strong for that even. The spray puts out a little too much, I wish it was a stopper vial that I could dab with instead. It is so insanely strong the first hour or two, but then it fades to a wonderful aura of incense, musk, vetiver all mixed in with a bunch of florals like jasmine and rose. I think it's a truly lovely scent. It smells so exotic to me. It's definitely a better cool weather scent though. The 4ml I bought will probably last me forever, which is great, I love when you don't need to over use a perfume to make it last all day or do constant touch ups.

Lipstick -MAC - Lipstick in Creme de la Femme
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/11/2012 6:41:00 PM

This is a pretty if not somewhat basic pink lipstick, it's very moisturizing, which is nice, but it doesn't stick very long. The color reminds me a bit of MAC's Angel lipstick, except this one is actually opaque where as Angel is translucent. They both have their merits but this lippie does give you significant color in one swipe, which is great.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen- Modesty
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/8/2012 9:29:00 PM

This is my latest lippie purchase and I'm very pleased. The color is more than a nude pink, it has some beautiful mauve tones to it that goes very nice with my skin tone and really makes my eyes pop. The staying power is about average. I firmly believe that if a lippie truly has good staying power, then it's usually too dry and chaps my lips, so I've resigned myself to living with moisturizing, short-lasting lipstick. The color is perfect, it's an opaque, solid shade that doesn't just gloss your lips like a lot of other lippies do, it does actually add substantial color. Again, I'm very pleased with this and am sure I will continue to purchase it over and over again.

Eyeliner -Hard Candy - Stay In Line Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
LizWords 8/6/2012 9:19:00 PM

This is a very good product, and only 5$. It is one of the best drugstore eyeliners I've ever purchased, it's highly pigmented, goes on smooth (not chunky or blotchy), and best of all, it does as it name indicates, and it STAYS where you put it. Who can as for more than that from an eyeliner?

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/5/2012 10:29:00 PM

This is a very nice blush. It is the same in color as the Luminoso Baked Blush, but without the massive amount of sparkle. The color is a nice pinky peach, very natural for fair to medium skin tones, highly pigmented. I like the highlighter effect of sparkles of the bake blush version, but I use this a lot too since it does look more natural not to sparkle.

Blush -NARS - Super Orgasm
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/5/2012 10:06:00 PM

I've been using this blush for about a year, I swapped for an unused tester, and I've been pretty pleased. It is highly pigmented, I am still on the original one I swapped for, I am a very light blush user and it barely looks like I've put a dent in it, so I will not need to repurchase for quite a while. The color comes off as a subtle pinky peach, and yes there is sparkle, which to me acts much like a highlighter by reflecting the light in a flattering way. You can get similar blushes for less (e.g. Milani Luminoso), but the price on this isn't too bad considering how little you have to use to get a nice tint or fair skin tones. Definitely worth a try to see if it's a fit for you!

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist LipWear - Mocha
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/5/2012 9:19:00 PM

I have been using this lipstick for a couple of years. I love the color, and it is very moisturizing. I love that I can go dark with it, where it's mostly brown with hints of red, and i also love that you can dab a light layer of it on and the pink of your lips will mix with the red undertones to make a very smokey dark red brown. Brown reds are the only reds I can do on my lips and this is perfect in terms of color. Wish it had better staying power but I wish that with all moisturizing lippies. For a 99 cent lipstick you really can't get much better than this.

Loose Powders -Bare Escentuals - Mineral Veil
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 8/5/2012 9:07:00 PM

This is a good mineral veil, but pretty standard as far as mineral veils go. I have bought large sizes 20-30gms off ebay for a much better price, I would never pay full retail for this. It does what it's supposed to do, set makeup and help maintain a matte complexion. But, you can get basically the same mineral veil or something a bit different for better prices, there are many competing products out there. It's really up to individual preference on this one.

Fragrances -Aquolina - Pink Sugar

Meh. Run of the mill indistinguishable sweetness. No real top notes, middle notes, just basic sweetness. It's not unpleasant, just unremarkable.

Conditioner -TRESemme - Smooth and Silky Vitamin H and Silk Proteins
rated 5 of 5
LizWords 8/5/2012 8:37:00 PM

I love this conditioner. It does exactly what it says it will. It makes it smooth and silky and soft, and it does that without weighing it down. I have fine shoulder length dyed hair and it is hard to find a conditioner that smooths frizz and moisturizes without taking away from fullness and body. This conditioner manages to smooth without making my hair limp. I use it a 2-3 times a week only, as I feel with most hair products rotation helps with build up. You can't beat the price of treseme products, they border on dirt cheap and you get massive quantities. Very happy with this!

Hair Color -Garnier - Nutrisse Permanent Creme Hair Color
rated 3 of 5
LizWords 8/5/2012 8:22:00 PM

I have used this in the past and find it an acceptable alternative for my preferred hair dye, Clairol Perfect 10, but only if I'm in a dire need of a dye job and can't find my favorite. The blondes I've used have been pretty true to the box, but it lacks the dimension and high and low lights that perfect 10 provide. Staying power is about average. Overall, worth a try.
