Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Long and Strong Leave-In Conditioner

Pleasant smell, light formula and makes my hair soo soft. Doesn't leave any sticky residue at all, on my hands or in my hair. I also love the little round pump bottle, I prefer pump bottles for my hair products. It works very very easily into the ends of my hair and my hair seems to "fall" better when I use this!
BEAUTIFUL color. One warning though, it doesn't go on sheer like most mmu e/s. I found this out the first time I used it. it goes on pretty heavy coverage, creamy and lasts and lasts. Did I mention the color is gorgeous? this color seems like it would work on anyone :) Just be careful with the first application, if you are expecting a sheer wash, it's not gonna happen till you get used to it, IMO of course. UPDATE (7/11/09): Wow, even though this is the SHIMMER shadow as opposed to a SPARKLY shadow, it's way sparkly. I noticed when I was outside yesterday, in the car mirror there were sparkles everywhere around my eyes. I was horrified. Sooooo...I'm gonna have to cut this beautiful shadow color down with a Matte to make it more managable for me, with the OTT sparkle. Though this would be fine for nighttime wear, for day time it's a bit much.
***UPDATE: 7/1/09: OK, this is making my face itch terribly after applying. I don't have sensitive skin in any way, shape or form..NOTHING bothers my face. So I guess this new container of this is heading for swapville.*** Well...first off let me say that when Lumiere first came along I ordered a lot of samples, however, fell in love with none of it (liked other brands better) and never ordered full size. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I decided to give them a try, I keep hearing such great things about Lumiere.... I placed an order for foundation (and a few other things). Finally arrived and since I've had a few days to give it a try I must say I'm still not overly impressed. The foundation doesn't look "right" on my skin, it's not the color, it's the finish or the formula or something..can't put my finger on it, But I'm sure I can work with it and all will be well. However, the first thing I noticed upon opening the container was the smell! Ewww. reminds me of play-doh. But it has a definite odor. (this is from someone who finds no offensive odor AT ALL with "Hope in a Jar!)...so I dunno. Don't hate it though I do hate the smell. Don't love it, as EDM is much better in my opinion, but i Like the lumiere colors better. I'll keep using it when I'm staying home or whatnot, unless I can figure out something else. Does anyone else notice an odor with this? I do not have a sensitive nose at all. UPDATE: I forgot to mention the size of the container, seems quite small, though I ordered a large, it's just 4g. I guess I'm quite spoiled with my huge EDM minerals that I'll never use up! lol
I'm a huge EDM fan, but this blush sucks, to put it bluntly. First of all, as everyone else has noted, there's zero color payoff at all. Secondly, it's lighter than ANY skintone I've ever seen in my life..what WERE they thinking here? Again,, as others have noted, it makes a satisfactory shadow for a very understated, muted look. the redeeming factor for ANY mmu product I don't like is mix mix mix them with other things...so NONE of them EVER go to waste. :) I had several samples of foundations I didn't like, I mixed them all together in a sifter container, and viola! New foundation that works great, etc.
VERY lavender in the container. Goes on fine, but the color isn't great for me. It's not terrible, and I'll use it now and then, just to use it up, but there are a lot better colors out there. I'm pale...but this just doesnt look good on me. One thing I LOVE about minerals though, if you have some you dont' like, or use because of the colors, get to mixing them with other things. I've made gorgeous eye shadows (blushes too!) mixing "oops!' purchases! lol
Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Sunlight Color Corrector
Ketol 6/21/2009 7:18:00 PM
Doesn't do a thing for me, unless looking crepe-y means doing something. Using it under my eyes it's a horrible mess, shows every little crease and wrinkle...ones that you don't normally even see! It finds them. YUCK. Doesn't work well as a blemish cover up either, IMO. Hmmm I can use it for an eyeshadow base though, so it won't go to waste..but as a concealer? no go!
LOVE! Have used this since it came out and it's my mascara I reach for time and time again. Never flakes, or globs, just long, defined, dark lashes that look natural, but longer and better! I heard it may be getting discontinued? I must be bad luck on products, any product I love and use religiously ALWAYS get discontinued. Grrrrr. Fantastic mascara, get it while you can, apparently...
Shampoo -John Frieda - Luxurious volume full splendor
Ketol 6/21/2009 7:11:00 PM
Normally I love John Frieda products. This 'volume' version, though it cleans well, certainly doesn't create any noticeable volume for me at all. I love the John Frieda tubes that the shampoos and conditioners come in, though! thats the only good thing about the shampoo, IMO. I wouldn't purchase it again, because it doesn't do what it states.
Very thick, but I have no problem applying it as others have said they did. It's an OK eye cream, but certainly there are better (and cheaper) ones out there. I haven't noticed any real difference since I've used up a full tube of this...My eyes DO feel moisturized, but no noticeable decrease in faint lines, or undereye circles, etc. For the price and the results, which are negligible, I would not repurchase this cream. And I love Philosophy products. ..but this one? not so much.
Incredible mascara. Makes my lashes longer, and goes on beautifully with zero clumping. Doesn't flake. Gives a small amount of curl, but nothing to get excited about. the brush is long, the bristles are great for my lashes and my lashes look wonderful with this, but not too overally made up. Just long, full, separated, black lashes. Dries quickly. (I have no problems with this clumping at all as others have stated...however, i have a long time habit of wiping ALL my wands before application, so that may be why. ) I would recommend this mascara to anyone. Love the tube too :)
first off, I MEANT to purchase the Lash Perfection Volume Couture...but I ordered this online and ended up getting the plain Volume Couture. However...I like it very much thus far. It lengthens, and DOES NOT CLUMP! Wonderful formula. Comes off fairly easily with either my Olive oil cleanser or my Purity cleanser. The only downfall for me, is the brown/black color isn't very dark. I've purchased brown/blacks before that were very dark, almost black. this is definitely a true brown...I'd venture to say no black in it at all. I would purchase this again (I think), in black. EDIT:*** Taking off a lippie because I forgot tomention the brush..I hate those plastic brushes, I always end up having problems with them after some time....
Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
Ketol 6/12/2009 10:25:00 AM
review #1015! Add me to the (small) group that loves this. Honestly, apparently I didn't know what perfectly balanced skin should feel like. This isn't greasy at all. It's light, like everyone has stated. It spreads evenly, easily and absorbs like a dream. My skin, is soft, glowing and feels better than it has in YEARS. My skin obviously loves this. You can use such a small amount, that's its not that expensive when you see how long a jar will last you. I have 'aging' skin (I'm 42) with 3 lines on my forehead - other than that my skin looks pretty good. This feels absolutely wonderful on my skin, which can be combination. As for the smell? I honestly don't notice one, good or bad. It certainly isn't anything that lingers, or I'd smell it on my skin. Even holding the jar up to my nose, theres a tiny smell, but it's not the least bit offensive, to me. Obviously this is a hit or miss product for everyone, one of those products you really need to try for yourself and give it a fair test. Definitely a HG product for me.
Cleansers -Philosophy - the microdelivery exfoliating wash
Ketol 6/9/2009 11:09:00 AM
Love this wash. As others before me have noted, the grains are tiny, and not the least bit uncomfortable on your skin. My skin feels AMAZINGLY soft - I want to keep touching it. I've been using this for a few weeks now and I will repurchase it. It gets slightly foam-y as you gently scrub and it washes of easily with no remains on the skin. One reviewer said they didn't feel clean - Maybe try mixing a bit of this in with your Purity cleanser. This on it's own isn't a facial cleanser :)
As everyone has stated, it smudges, it breaks off making it almost impossible to sharpen. I'd purchased this about a year ago in the quartz color. It's a pearly/white, and I'd intended to line my bottom inner eye with it. HA! Little pieces break off into my eye. Just horrible. I was cleaning out my makeup and found this in my basket, no wonder it was sitting in the bottom of the basket! If this were free I'd not use it again. I bought it because of the color and creaminess....but its useless when you can't sharpen it and use any. More than half is in the trashcan because you simply can't sharpen it to a point AT ALL.
Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Jhirmack EFA shampoo & Conditioner
Ketol 8/17/2008 8:45:00 PM
I have heard this is discontinued? I just purchased the Jhirmack Silver Brightening Shampoo at Walgreens and it's a NEW product in that store. Hmmm. It was $3.99 for a good sized bottle, it's the purple shampoo that helps with brassiness and it's wonderful stuff. My hair is soo soft and shiny,, the only thing I hate about it is the smell. Yuck. The packaging is less than stellar, it's definitely cheap and tacky looking, but the product inside is fabulous!
