Scrubs -BeneFit Cosmetics - Honey Snap Out of It Face Scrub
Jubilee 7/10/2011 11:18:00 AM
I really liked this scrub. Sure, it's really scrubby and that may be too harsh for some, but I liked it because I truly felt it was working. The smell was light and oatmeal-y. And because I didn't need to use much, the tube lasted me over two years! (I scrub my face once a week.) Very nice product. Would I give it five stars? No, simply because it's not the very best I've ever used. Just because a product is "good", doesn't mean it's amazing.

Conditioner -Suave - Daily Clarifying Conditioner
Jubilee 4/8/2010 12:45:00 PM
I loved this conditioner! It's lightweight enough that it didn't weigh down my fine hair, but did give it just enough moisture that it never got static-y. It smelled very nice too. Not floral or fruity, just nice a fresh scent. I wish the scent had lasted longer in my hair though. But that's just a personal preference. And of course it's dirt-cheap and lasts! A 22oz bottle lasted me well over 6 months and that's using it pretty much every day. Great stuff. :-)

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous in Marooned
Jubilee 2/7/2010 1:15:00 PM
One of my favorite red lipsticks. I'm a PPP with pink undertones. I have a very hard time wearing reds because almost all of them go hot pink on me. This is one of the few that doesn't. It looks extremely dark in the tube but goes on my lips as a perfect blue-red. But I think it's a shade that many skintones could pull off. Sadly, I think it might be long discontinued from Revlon and I'm kicking myself for not buying a back-up when I saw it in Big Lots a couple of years ago.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Everyday Protection lotion SPF30
Jubilee 1/23/2010 11:39:00 AM
Why I did I buy this product again? I should have learned the first time that this lotion just is not right for me. If I stop using it for a few weeks and test another brand, my face will start to look pretty good. The second I go back to this, I start breaking out. The lotion is thick, and hard to absorb. With the heavy sunblock in this, my face will take on a whitish cast. It's also not nearly moisturizing enough in the brittle, cold and dry Ohio winters. It says it's good for sensitive skin, but if MY combo skin which can usually take anything I throw at it, has this many problems, I sure as heck wouldn't use it on sensitive skin. I'm writing this review to remind myself never to buy it again!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Lash Architect Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
Jubilee 1/14/2010 10:28:00 PM
This is the closest I've found to a HG mascara. It thickens and lengthens my long but very pale and thin lashes. It's what I pull out when I want vavoom lashes. It smudges ever so slightly, so I took away one lippie. For that reason it's not total HG material because that means I can't wear it onstage when I perform. I also believe this might now be discontinued so I stocked up and bought 3 tubes at Big Lots for $2 each. So now I'll be set for awhile.

Concealers -Prescriptives - Camouflage Cream
Jubilee 9/12/2009 3:13:00 PM
This review is long overdue. This is the best concealer I've found for my eyes other than YSL Touche Eclat. But the Touche Eclat is super pricey, so i can't purchase it often. This is creamy and just thick enough to actually make a difference. So many undereye concealer are either too thin so they don't last or cover anything or they're too thick and crease in my fine lines. This does neither. Plus I'm a hard color to match up in concealer because I'm a NW15 or Px Camellia. This matches me perfectly. I took away one lippie because I believe Touche Eclat is the best concealer I've used, but the Px is a very close second.

Shampoo -LUSH - Rehab Shampoo
Jubilee 8/6/2009 1:11:00 AM
I work at a major amusement park as a costumed character. (No I'm not going to divulge which park.) I walk around as a big furry animal all day in the hot summer sun. Which means I sweat. A lot. My hair is often really gross by the end of the day. This shampoo is the best I have found for cutting through all that grime and making my hair soft and shiny. This stuff even works better than my Origins No Deposit clarifying shampoo for cutting through build-up. I also love the sharp smell of it. I've found it's best to shake it up first so all the ingredients combine. It tends to separate. It's not going bad, it's just the way this shampoo works. Sure it's a bit expensive. But for the results I will definitely be re-purchasing.

Fragrances -Victoria's Secret - WISH

I got a sample strip of this with my last VS purchase. I really like it. To me, this smells like a softer version of Lagerfeld's (sp?) Sun Moon Stars from the early 90s. I don't get the fruit and creamscicle references others are smelling. It's a soft floral to me, but not overpowering. The warm woody base notes are what makes it work on me. I'm thinking of going and buying the lotion of this so I can use it all the time.

Eye Primer -Clarins - Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base
Jubilee 4/2/2009 11:38:00 AM
I have came to the conclusion I don't really care for this product. On the one hand my eye makeup looks like it was just applied and it looks good for 12+ hours. This is even better than UDPP for me for this. Buuuuut since it only comes in that ghastly salmon-pink color it changes every e/s I wear as well. It turned my gorgeous pastel pink e/s yesterday into a bright peach. It was just too dark for my PPP complexion. (I'm a MAC NW15, Px Camellia for reference.) Using this as a concealer was definitely out since it was so dark. Plus the little sample I received from Clarins on a foil peel-back got thick within two days of usage. I like it for the staying power, hate it for the color.

Makeup Brushes -Jane - Be Pure Powder Brush
Jubilee 1/7/2009 11:32:00 AM
This is, by far, the worst makeup brush I've ever owned. The size is nice, and it actually applied mineral makeup pretty good. But it was somewhat scratchy on my face. My biggest complaint though? It shedded from day one. and we're not talking maybe one or two hairs. No, more like 10 to 20 *each time*. I tried to make this this work, but having to pull out the magnifying mirror to find all of the little hairs left on my face (that I could feel, but couldn't see), I gave up. The search for a mineral brush continues.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Cassis Rose ] [DISCONTINUED]

I really like this fragrance. I love rose scents, but can't wear them. They turn into this awful scent on my skin. But TBS Rose is different. It doesn't smell like the typical rose. Cassis Rose is even better. TBS Rose with a sweet note added in. And it lasts all day on my skin. I definitely need to get the lotion in this.

Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - Angel Red
Jubilee 12/11/2008 4:09:00 PM
This is my HG red lipstick! After seeing it in like Teen magazine years ago I went to try it because I was looking for a red lipstick that didn't turn hot pink on me as most red lippies do. 8 years later and I've never looked back! This is a true blue-red lippie. I'm a PPP, strawberry-blond, brown eyes with cool undertones. I love wearing this with a light gold or champagne eye and liquid liner. So classic! The staying power on this is not great, but it stains my lips nicely enough, so I don't really mind. If you're looking for a perfect blue-red lippie, look no further than your local Clinique counter.

Conditioner -Paul Mitchell - Super-Charged Moisturizer
Jubilee 11/24/2008 3:05:00 PM
I really like this deep conditioner. I have super baby-fine hair that's pretty normal. But I like to use a deep conditioner once a week to keep it healthy. This was nice because it didn't weigh my fine hair down at all and really seemed to moisturize well. A little goes a long way so the tube lasts forever. But that's my biggest complaint. I stored mine in the shower and the tube would constantly get mold and mildew growing in the cap. I kept cleaning it out with bleach every two weeks. So I took a lippie off for the crappy packaging. But I would still buy again.

Shampoo -Aussie - Mega Shampoo [DISCONTINUED]
Jubilee 11/24/2008 2:56:00 PM
I managed to buy a huge 34 oz pump bottle of this at Big Lots for $4. I was very excited to try this because I had read such good reviews for it. I've been using this so far for over month and like it so far. But I'm afraid with such a huge bottle I may get sick of it real quick. The scent is nice, but a little cloying. But it does seem to clean my baby-fine hair pretty well. I love how well this foams up. I don't think I'd repurchase because considering how long it will take me to use this up. EDIT*8/5/09* I'm upping this to 5 lippies because the more I use it, the more I love it. It's a shame it's discontinued.

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Karma soap
Jubilee 11/24/2008 2:35:00 PM
I love the scent of Karma. When using the soap the scent actually lingers on my skin a bit. Unlike some other reviewers I don't find this drying at all. But a bar of this stuff rarely lasts a week. I just wish Lush would figure out a way to make their soaps last longer than a week, then I would purchase this more often.
