Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Megashield Lip Color SPF 15
HeidiF69 1/17/2012 4:29:00 PM
I love the lipstick - I got the color Peachy Keen and it's a beautiful peachy nude. I want to go back and get the pinkish nude color, I think it was Birthday Suit. The lipstick feels a bit more like a balm, and the color is kind of sheer and more on the matte side. Not sticky or shiny. The only horrid part is the amount of sticky tape label that they wrapped the tube with! Once it's off, the entire tube remains sticky. The stick does not turn all the way down into the tube, quite a bit still sticks up, which is annoying. Hopefully, they will fix the packaging and I can repurchase this. ETA - I purchased the Ring Around the Rosey color and it's a pretty close dupe for the pink truffle color in the new Revlon lip butters. It lasts much longer, too (I bought both on the same day). I also got Pink Slip, a pretty frosted true pink, and Birthday Suit, which is a gorgeous frosted sheer nude. Pretty close in shade and texture to NYX Darling - not a washed-out nude, but a shimmery beautiful shade.

Loose Powders -Palladio - Rice Powder in Warm Beige
HeidiF69 1/3/2012 1:12:00 PM
Oh, I wish I'd discovered this years ago! Even though my skin tone is more of a light beige, I didn't want to end up with Geisha face, so I chose the warm beige powder. It works beautifully and is fine enough to work well under the eyes without making my skin look dry. Keeps the shine away in a natural looking way and lasts about half the day. Wonderful stuff!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
HeidiF69 1/2/2012 9:48:00 PM
I really love Colorstay, but must admit, I have been reaching for my Photoready every day! I bought it in Nude, and this winter, it suits me perfectly. I can only detect glitter in the bottle, but never on my skin. One pump is enough to do my entire face, the coverage is so good, but never thick. The pump bottle is genius for a ds brand, I wish more came with one! ETA - still using it every day and it never seems to run out. Seriously, one pump is more than enough for your whole face to have a nice coverage. Beautiful dewy finish - can't be beat!

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm

I bought Cherry Me and Pink Punch and was really surprised at how much I liked both of them! I got them on a buy one get one half off deal at Rite Aid where they were already on sale. So about $3 for one and $1.50 for the other. My lips are always dry and sensitive and these worked so well. They really last for several hours without reapplying. The cherry is a pretty light red stain, and the Pink Punch is a Barbie pink. I go easy with that one to keep it more sheer. I do recommend these, they taste good and really work.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Walking on Eggshells
HeidiF69 1/2/2012 12:37:00 PM
I've been wearing and loving this trio for the past year now. The main lid shade is a great dupe for Stila's Kitten. So I went to Rite Aid to buy some back-ups last week when they had a sale, and please note, they apparently have a new version of this and have CHANGED the colors! I bought two, one older and one of the newer. I checked several times to make sure one wasn't mislabeled. The new one has a much darker, rosier pink, and the brown is much deeper, more of a cocoa brown. The highlight shade is unchanged. I do also love these colors, but it is not the same. Try to stock up on the old version now, if you can.

Eye Shadow -Too Faced - Natural Eye Palette
HeidiF69 12/30/2011 6:19:00 PM
I've been waiting so long to buy this. I'm a big fan of neutral shades, and these are just so lovely. I do have to say, if you have the Urban Decay Naked palette, you really don't need the Natural Eye Palette, there are so many dupes. I will post pictures of them together. You have dupes for Sin, Naked, Toasted, Half Baked and Sidecar. The only one I can't stand if Naked Beach (like everyone) pretty idea if you want to look like a disco ball. All of the other shades are gorgeous and wearable. Not quite as saturated as UD, and sometimes, that does look more natural.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad "Blushed Wines"
HeidiF69 12/12/2011 6:20:00 PM
I bought this because of the glowing reviews, and it is nice, but not all that. I think I prefer more shimmer, like in the UD or WnW pallets. These appear shimmery in the pan, but are pretty bland once on. I used a primer under and they really do last all day perfectly without creasing. The colors are very pretty with my brown eyes. A nice basic set, but don't expect miracles. ETA- I find myself reaching for this almost every day! It has actually made me prefer the satin finish over so much sparkle. It's very lovely and seems to go with everything.

Treatments (Eye) -L'Oreal - Age Perfect Eye Treatment
HeidiF69 12/12/2011 3:24:00 PM
I'm reviewing the advanced gold version of this product in the amber jar. I was starting to notice tiny fine lines around my eyes this year, so I wanted to get something heavy, but not greasy. I also have very sensitive skin, so I didn't want anything with retinol or glycolic acid in it. This stuff really works! It's kind a a butter-colored whipped blam, and it just sinks right into my skin without leaving any residue. I can even use it before applying makeup with no problems. After only a month of use, I notice a drastic decrease in the lines. There has been no stinging or irritation and it really did the trick. If you didn't like the regular version, try the advanced "gold" version in the darker jar.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Marc Anthony- Simply Straight Lotion
HeidiF69 12/7/2011 3:15:00 PM
The description on my bottle says that you don't need to use a blow drier or iron with this, but I have found that it's really necessary. The smell is a fresh mint, which is very unusual, but I like it. The smell dissipates as it dries. When I use it with my blow drier, it works very well, leaving my hair silky straight and healthy looking. There is no greasy feel at all, but boy, what a SHINE! I have even used this on the top layers when my hair is wavy, just to see the shine. Even on dry, second-day hair, I will sometimes smooth it on and dry again because it works so well. Update: Over a year later and I still use this daily - but mine is the Style Straight in the pump bottle. I have repurchased it several times and it just WORKS.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Smokey Shadowblast-Bronze Fire
HeidiF69 12/5/2011 12:44:00 AM
*Gone in 60 Seconds* The shades are gorgeous and work well together from what I can remember. By the time I applied my lipstick, my eyeshadow was gone. My lids are dry, and melting or creasing shadow is usually not a problem. As the other reviewers said, the texture is too slippery. It needs to dry more powdery to work. It's such a shame, the colors in this one are so pretty.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Lasting Finish - Paradise
HeidiF69 12/5/2011 12:39:00 AM
Try this Paradise color if Airy Fairy was too light for you. That color makes me look dead, but Paradise is almost my lip shade only a tad rosier. Pretty and understated, my kind of nude.

Brows -Rimmel - Professional Eyebrow Pencil
HeidiF69 12/5/2011 12:35:00 AM
My new HG brow pencil! I bought mine in the color Hazel, and it's the perfect taupe brown. The little brush on the cap is such a nice feature, and it works well. The color really lasts and doesn't look harsh. LOVE

Lipstick -E.L.F. - Voodoo
HeidiF69 12/5/2011 12:32:00 AM
The first time I tried this on, I thought it felt strange and waxy. I wasn't expect it to be a matte finish, since that's normally something I find in higher-end brands. When I tried it again, I realized it was the PERFECT brick/berry red for me. The matte finish keeps it from looking sleazy, and the color is so flattering and not too bright. It also lasts well and fades evenly.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - ColorIcon Palette in #249 Vanity [DISCONTINUED]
HeidiF69 11/28/2011 6:09:00 PM
Honestly, I reach for this way more than my UD Naked palette. The colors are all smooth and creamy, even the matte shades. I like the shimmery dark cocoa color the best, but every color works very well. The gold looks like it would be strangely bright, but when you actually apply it, it's a soft gold. I am so panicked about it not being available, that I just bought a backup at my local Raleys. It is now 1/2 price and it was the last one left. Highly recommend.

Palettes -E.L.F. - Beauty Book - Neutral Eye Edition
HeidiF69 10/27/2011 5:03:00 PM
I bought the newest version of these and it has purely neutral shades of beiges, browns and grays. I never really liked ELF eyeshadow, but I figured I'd give it a try. I especially like the shimmers in the center row as well as the peach from the top row and most of the mattes. There are about three shades that are chalky or not pigmented, but for $5, who cares? ETA: I removed a few lippies because I realized that it really is crappy. There were only a couple colors that I used, but it was SO chalky and dusty you can't even use it with a brush. I ended up throwing it away because it took up way too much room in the drawer for something I won't use.
