Lips -Cover Girl - Outlast Lipstain - 435 Flirty Nude
ChocolatCake 6/29/2010 11:33:00 PM
*sigh* When will drugstore makeup companies realize that nude does NOT equal ugly orangy color? Yuck! On my lips, this turned burnt orange. Not flattering. I was hoping for a nice pinky-brownish nude. I like the marker applicator and the packaging is cute, but that's where my praises end. Also, it doesn't apply evenly at all. Dislike.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Designer Chocolates Quad
ChocolatCake 6/29/2010 11:31:00 PM
I'm sad this product isn't rated higher, it's a great little product for me! I have fair skin (MAC N3 ; Revlon PR Vanilla) and these colors compliment my brown eyes really well! There's four colors -- a bone-white shimmery color (browbone), a dark, shimmery burgundy (crease), a very light malt brown (lid), and a matte dark brown (outer-v). All together, it makes a very pretty natural eye. I pack on more to make it a nice daytime smoke. I use a nice primer with it, so it works very well for me. No creasing, no fallout, no irritation. A+ in my book. Will definitely continue to repurchase.

Lipstick -MAC - Speak Louder - Cremesheen
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 3:01:00 PM
So pretty on fair skin! I LOVE this lipstick. I haven't worn it in a while, but I will occasionally open it up and admire it, haha. When I bought this, I asked the saleswoman to find me a color that resembles red velvet cake. She pulled this one out, and it matches perfectly! It goes on smoothly and the cremesheen formula is the best. I can use it straight from the tube for a POW look, and use a finger to pat it on my lips on top of balm for a stain. Pretty!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Foundation brush
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 2:59:00 PM
This works pretty decent for the price ($1). I find the trick for using this to apply foundation is to pour a bit of the foundation on the back of your hand and use this brush to pick up the color and apply. Use the brush upwards while applying it in small flicks to minimize streaks. I deducted one lipstick because the brush can hold on to the foundation. Overall, I would repurchase for the price and the performance.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam V
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 2:57:00 PM
Oh Viva Glam, how I love thee. You are just so versatile. This is great for a night out and a day at the office. It's a perfect natural lip color for my light skin. The color is unique - pink/mauve with a little hint of brown. I love the smell, love the price ($14), and love the color. Perfect!

Liquid -Revlon - PhotoReady Makeup
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 2:55:00 PM
This product is AWESOME. I've tried literally every brand, trying to find a foundation I like (Px, MAC, Chanel, NARS, Origins, The Body Shop, CG, Maybelline, the list goes ON!). This is the one I fell in love with. I have olive-toned, very fair skin. The most difficult part of finding a foundation is finding a color match. Vanilla (the second fairest color) is a perfect match for my skin. It glides on beautifully with my ELF foundation brush and leaves my skin looking FLAWLESS. Even under harsh bathroom lighting, I can't see a flaw. I don't even need concealer with this, it does it all. It brightens and covers. I have small imperfections, and this seems to just erase them. I find that this foundation can become oily after a few hours if you do not use a finishing powder with it. For that, I deducted one lipstick. On hot summer days, I like to mix this with my moisturizer for a sheer/light coverage. Very versatile, and NEVER looks heavy on my skin. LOVE.

Blush -NARS - Deep Throat
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 3:04:00 AM
Want that "I-just-woke-up-from-a-sexy-night" flush to your cheeks? THIS is the blush to buy. It gives me the healthiest glow, it looks like it's coming from within. It blends beautifully and lasts forever. I bought my blush in Sept. '09, and STILL have not made a dent in it. The shimmer is subtle and pretty on my skin and it's a definite pick-me-up for ladies with dull skin. I can safely say this is my HG and I cannot see myself buying any other blush. I paid roughly $30 for it and it was worth every penny. (MAC N3, Revlon PR Vanilla)

Eye Shadow -E.L.F. - Studio Line Single in Pebble
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 3:01:00 AM
Definitely on the fence about this product. While the color is gorgeous (think dark moss) and matte, it is hell to blend. I use TFSI each day and have never had a problem with blending cheapie eyeshadows. This creases and goes on uneven each time I try to use it. Very sad. :( I love the packaging and the price. Sadly, I don't think I will repurchase.

Lip Treatments -eos - Smooth Sphere Organic Lip Balm in Honeysuckle Honeydew
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 2:59:00 AM
I gotta say, I like Summer Fruit much better. The smell of Honeysuckle Honeydew is just not as strong and summery, IMO. Either way, still an awesome, fresh product. The packaging is awesome and cute. This moisturizes well and is worth the money.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Summer Fruit
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 2:58:00 AM
I gotta say, this is some awesome packaging. It's so innovative, bright, cute, and it covers the large surface of my lips (I have large, plump lips). I paid $3.59 for this at the local Walgreens and I am in love with it. I have a habit of losing my lipbalms in the depths of my purses, but with these I can easily find them! The "Summer Fruit" smell is awesome, very tropical. I love the way these feel on my lips, not waxy or sticky. The moisture lasts for quite some time, also. Will repurchase.

Pressed Powders -Maybelline - Dream Matte Pressed Powder
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 2:53:00 AM
I can't leave home without this product. I have combination skin with an oily t-zone, and on my cheeks. I use this as a finishing touch to my liquid foundation, and I stay oil-free all day (I work long shifts as a waitress, so I'm sweating quite a bit). The color selections are awesome, and I found a color that matches my hard-to-match neutral/fair skin (Cream ; MAC N3). It has a pleasant scent and doesn't get all over the place. It didn't break me out or make my sensitive skin itch. I like to wear it alone as well, it gives a nice light coverage. The packaging is cute and I love the little slide-out mirror. The only downside? It retails at almost $8.00 which is a little steep for a Maybelline product. I would highly recommend this for frustrated oily-skinned girls.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie #630
ChocolatCake 6/28/2010 2:49:00 AM
I totally wished this worked for me. On my neutral skin, it turned bright bubblegum pink. I wish it gave me the pretty nude look that the other girls get with it. :( Anyway, I gave it 2 lippies because the formula is very smooth and didn't make my lips chap. It had great color payoff as well. It's a cheap buy and I would consider it worth it if it works for you.
